  • God has no place for rascism..those that hate based on another nationality cannot call themselves sons of God. Only One can judge us all, mind your own personal spiritual life with God.

God Bless all the true Orthodox Brothers - Macedonians, Serbians, Bulgarians, Greeks, Russians, Romanians and all the rest!

As for the people spreading hate towards nations - God is watching!

  • Οτι και να αυτοαποκαλησται μακεδονικοι χαλβαδες !!! ΜΙΑ ΖΩΗ ΒΑΡΒΑΡΟΙ ΘΑ ΕΙΣΤΑΙ!

  • the words of this chant: Resurrection day, So let us fill with light by the resurrection, And embrace one another. We say brethren, and to those who hate us; Let us forgive for the resurrection all things, And thus clamor; Christ is risen from the dead, through death the death has beaten, And to those in tombes, life has given. Let s think about the meaning of those words for a while and not about countries, names and political interests....
  • macedonian? why don't they speak Greek then?

  • sovrseno prekrasno sekoja cest .....za Makedonija .....

    Bugari Srbi I Grci zasrametese

  • we believe in the same religion !!!! we are orthodox , so beautiful our god our church . why greek bastard ???

  • @VICTORIANUMBER Because greeks hate everything that is Macedonian, even the Church. That's why.

  • @nitroflesh LEARN HISTORY MY FRIEND . WE ARE MACEDONES , WE DONT HATE OURSELFS . OUR CHURCH SPEAKS ABOUT LOVE , GOD IS LOVE , JESUS OUR LORD HE UNITED US WITH ALL THE WORLD . IF U LIKE IT OR NOT WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS .

  • @VICTORIANUMBER Yes Maybe you're also Macedonian and if you are then you should call yourself that way. We are also Macedonians and no book can tell me what I am and what should I be. But if you are Christian than you should support us not fight us. Go fight the Turks not us. It is UnChristian to fight your fellow Christian brothers. And what's up with the CapsLock.

  • Izvinite, ali koji hor je ovo? I gde smo?

    Hvala puno.

  • Bravo!!!

  • This is too awesome, i am serb and byzantine music is fruit of the real music!!!!!!!!!!!

  • bravo. kire brat ti e zver

  • (stupid greek bastard) nice christian speaking

  • @homocorpus lmao stupid greek bastard,on orthodox music you're doing propaganda. If we arent macedonians, and have no connection with them, then u dont have with them 10000000000000% too!MAKEDONIA,GREECE,two deferent meaning. When slavs came in macedonia in 6 century, they mixed with anicent macedonians here,so we have only 30% of our blood.No1 is clean, and same with ya.You have slavonic blood too.IF u talk anicent greer that doesent mean ur pure greek.

  • i am a proud macedonian :) and i am a proud human to be orthodox :) this chant is excellent :) and i find it awsum to see how many people here of different backgrounds all unite together with the same faith :) :) :) makes me very happy, and it should make everyone happy :)

  • Thank you! You can listen the Greek version in You tube if you copy and paste the tag "Αναστάσεως ημέρα"

  • You are welcome!

Of course, I will follow your advise. I guess I would understand nothing, except "Khristos anesti", known in the whole orthodox world) However I would like to listen the original of the chant)

By the way, georgiosmadonanakis, could you please tell what is Greek for "He is risen indeed"? I mean the respond for Khristos anesti.

  • Αληθώς ανέστη ο Κύριος - Alithos anesti o Kirios!

It is a little funny to discus about easter this time. Today starts the Christmas fasting period! Merry Christmas from Greece!!

  • Thank you for the answer about the Easter. Yes it maybe quite funny).

However Urkainian and Russian Orthodox Churches still use Julian calendar. That's why the fasting period has not begun for us yet. But it is approaching. And the Christmas day is the seventh of January for us. But anyway thanks for congritulation. Merry Christmas to you and to Greece, Macedonia and all Balkan orthodox christians from Ukraine as well!)

  • I also would like to ask about the Greece-Macedonia relations. I noticed that you have some difficults with each other. What is the problem?

  • The phrase "Αναστάσεως Ημερα" was the translation of "The Day of Resurrection" from English to Greek!

  • georgiosmadonanakis, I got it)

Here is the translation of the chant they sing:

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

It is the Day of Resurrection, so let us be radiant for the festival, and let us embrace one another. Let us speak, brothers and sisters, also to those who hate us, and in the

Resurrection let us forgive everything, and so let us cry:

  • Christ is risen from the dead, trampling on death by death, and on those in the tomb bestowing life.

  • Congratulations! Can I guess if it is the glorifying hymn "Day of Resurrection"? ( "Αναστάσεως Ημέρα" in Greek language).

  • georgiosmadonanakis, you must be right.

could you please translate first couple of sentences of "Αναστάσεως Ημέρα" from Greek into English, so I will be able to respond your question?

  • bravo

  • I believe that Slavonic Orthodox Christians should keep on praying in Slavic because it is a wonderful and uniting language.

  • It's a nice chant! I am Orthodox Christian, I was baptized in Ukrainian Orthodox Church Moscow Patriarchate. I don't speak Macedonian, however I understood everything they sang as the chant is in Slavic. The only difference is in pronunciation, I have never heard Macedonian accent before, it is lovely).

The song has so beautiful words full of love and joy. ...drug druga obymiem, rtsem bratie, i nenavydiashchikh nas prostim vsia voskreseniem i tako vozopiim Khristos voskrese iz mertvykh...

  • paidia eseis eiste SLAVOI Den eiste makedones

  • you only wish you had macedonian blood like me. you are greek and have ethiopian blood type dna.

  • you are not true orthodox if you don't use orthodox dates, respect and recognise the ethnic macedonian community all around the world and the macedonian orthodox church. I am sorry but your greek politics does not add up with reality. Republic of Macedonia is a country that is recognised by over 125 countries.

  • who is not a orthodox church...youre an asshole...have you been in macedonia to know that...fuck you..macedonia is a miracle country...MACEDONIA UNITED AND MACEDONIA FOR THE MACEDONIANS

  • may I don't comment with true words but in my soul I'm very sad about the nation we are like...I don't know how to say but we are so soft.but our's faith in GOD is big

  • slava is a macedonian word after all, and please look at greece and see there christmas and easter dates are the catholic ones.

  • Comment removed

  • my church is the Macedonian Orthodox Church and our dates remain as the Orthodoxy dates. Slavonic is an english way of saying Slava which in the Macedonian language means glorious/victory. the meaning of Orthodoxy comes frm a Macedonian word "Pravoslava" which means "The Right Victory/Glorious" aka "The right way"

  • Comment removed

  • ellas1945 not good enough

  • Comment removed

  • not good enough means Orthodox religious dates should not be changed.

Stop getting your thrills over Macedonian history, because you are greek, you are not Macedonian.

  • Comment removed

  • ye , im born in melbourne which makes me a melbournian australian but i am ETHNIC MACEDONIAN and no one can change that, not you , not greece , not anyone , you are a looser and i am not greek fake orthodox, so i don't have anything to do with christmas on the 25th.

  • Any douts, youtube " vasil iljov " or " pasko kuzman " By the way, most is in Macedonian, the same language Aleksandar Makedonski spoke and many Macedonian kings before him spoke and wrote. (writing found in many stones that date back way before greeks even existed).

So if you cant understand the language, bad luck.

  • slavic language was spoken in the balkans a minimum of 15000 years before aleksandar makedonski and there is proof also that there is a Macedonian king called Pir Makedonski from 5000bc so fuk off to greek/bulgarian propaganda.

  • well, our southern neighbours think that because they speak modern greek (like you soeak modern version of latin language), have the exclusive right to ancient history.

it is the simple fact that we are all mixen in period of hundreds and hundreds of years, that this claim doesn't hold water.

history is story of our ancestors, and they come from quite few linages, offcourse including the slavic that came to dominate the whole region of macedonia.

  • Thank you for taking the time to understand what I'm talking about! Now let's enjoy this beautiful Byzantine chant!

  • In fact there is not a single document that supports a slavic sattlemant in Macedonia ( I speak in Aegean Macedonia not in todays Vardar Macedonia)!

There is just one document of Slavic attack of the Fort of Salonica but they never entered the city and fold back behing Dunabe river, so its not likely that slavs ever sattled the Real south Macedonia.....

  • check your anthropology then.

slavs have mixed with local people-trakians,macedonians,mizians,bulgarians,and who not.

the whole region has become slavicised---this language became the norm out of many reasons.

befire that you think macedonians spoke what language?

    mostly they were probbaly romanized.

language does not equals ethnogenetic descent,if that is what you mean, and latest haplotype research for the whole region shows all local ethnic populations are related to preslavic populations

  • во која цркба се пеје?

  • Новоизградената црква во Скопје.Пресвета Богородица

    †...Македонија Вечна,Православна..†

  • Христос воскресе!

beautiful chanting of the paschal tropar.

    thank you for sharing~

  • Wow, he's really good!! I hope I can learn to do that ^^ ---Is it you?

  • Thank you for telling us your impression of this singing.

No I am not there but I have sang in church choir. And now when I have time I am going in church to sing liturgy

    God bless you

    Greetings from †Orthodox Macedonia†

  • Bravo prekrasen glas angelski!

  • This great! Macedonian culture fascinates me as a Ukrainian-American. After all, we're all Orthodox. I have an aunt from Macedonia, good food, good times, and great music liturgical and folk! :o)

  • I don't know why this turned into a huge cultural debate. The video merely says that the chant is performed by a choir from Macedonia. This kid is awesome...just soak it, enjoy it and try to pray.

  • Piękny hymn. Jestem katolikiem, ale do prawosławia mam wielki szacunek , a nawet uważam ich za swoich braci .

Nice song. I'm Catholic, but I love orthodox chants, and I think Orthodox are my brothers in blood of Christ.

  • 1. As human being you have right only to do not insult.

    2. The uncertainty of Macedonian ethnicity exists only in your head, they way it is shaped.

    3. It's doesn't matter what language spoke Alexander, it's rather what that language can achieve, as I see yours can do so much.

  • 4. Why even you are posting here, do have any idea what this video is about? If you don't have nice word to say about someone don't say it, no one cares to hear your insulting opinion, and I have no idea why those comments are not erased, since obviously they don't concern the video and only have intense to distract the meaning of the video.

  • Comment removed

  • Probably you didn't saw the video.

    It's chant,byzantine chant in church,liturgy

    What else could be

  • this is not liturgy hymn

  • What's the chant about?

  • you have no idea what this video is about and you are asking us

  • Nice chant...

  • I like this chant, I admit I want to visit your country and know your culture :)

  • You're welcome ;)

Macedonians are peaceful and hospitable people

  • fuck you people are so sad, just enjoy the video.

I'm Macedonian, I know who I am and what I am, but im not gonna sit here and try and change people's views.

  • whatever Macedonıa is old country.More than

2 500 years. And if you say slavic country. it is 1 300 years old.

Your fucking USA it's only 400 years old and yes without history and without language and different nationality.

    Usa: Language-english

Population-all world in one place :P

    Who is better now

  • Actually, the United States is less that 300 years old. What's wrong with English as a language? Diversity is wonderful. Different "Macedonias" have existed throughout history, but modern Macedonians and the Macedonian Orthodox Church are Slavic. Your culture and your language are similar to those of Serbia and Bulgaria; Alexander the Great's were closer to those of Greece. I suggest you take a moment and look at the facts.

  • the blood of the ancient macedonians is our blod

dont matter wich language we speak

  • what is "slavic"?according to a common theory,

slavic tribes came into this region and mixed with local populations.

    so macedonians,bulgarians,trakians,

    became slavicised.

    so what?

it doesnt mean we are "uncertain" of who we are.

we know for sure that we,and our ancestors were macedonians.

there you go,i hope you enjoy the beautiful bisantian macedonian music.

  • As human being you don't have right to talk about other history because you don't know.

    I can't talk about USA's history because I don't know everything

So stop it! you don't have proof

  • First:You don't have right to talking abput macedonian-greek history. You are not greek, you are not macedonian. You are from USA

Second:This video show us religion, not politics.

Third:I am not slav,I am macedonian, and Alexander The Great was macedonian, not greek

  • the chanting is beautiful and the atmosphere absolutely peaceful...i dont get what makes it macedonian since no greeks are chanting

  • I agree, its not Macedonian chanting, it's church slavonic chanting. You people have to realize that you have to thank the Greeks for the beauty of this chanting. Byzantium was Greek and St. Cyril and Methodius were Greek who enlightened you people and gave you this wonderful text.

  • Before you ever try to wright your non senses right here, it's rather to answer to your self Macedonia is Slavic for 1500 years and it's Macedonian because it is sang in Macedonia, not on Mars.

Byzantum was Roman, not Greek - find me one single word written by the Byzantines that says they are Greeks.

  • It's really beatufiul and impressive. Thank you for this video. Pozdrawiam

  • that comment is directed to baklansoul i will pray for you.

  • ne e ubaVO da se pcue na crkvata i na Boga!

    napred Bogoslovci,napreduvate ..

  • That's not right. I am Macedonian, but Orthodox first. And yes it is Republic of Macedonia

  • I am Macedonian first. The name of my country is "The Republic of Macedonia" and not anything else! Do you get it?

  • fyrom/grease? Fuck you byzantinechants and fuck your false racist greek church you and your country are pieces of shit

  • My Orthodox brethren, read my post again.

Did I in anyway insult your country or this beautiful video clip? Read my post carefullly. and honestly wake up, buddy.

Like I posted earlier, I am Orthodox first.

Lastly I belong to the True Orthodox Church that accepts all cultures. All of our church services are in Slavonic, English and Greek.

That is why I am familiar with these chants. We have Blacks, Hispanics, English, Greeks and yes even Macedonians in our church.

  • You probably have your ethnicity only.

    Now who is racist.

Stop placing judgement, when you can't even read probably and understand what I am actually saying in my post. Maybe because your not bright enough.

  • Hi..the singing is a beautiful slavonic bisantian singing, and thank you for the kind words.

It has received a beautiful and fast revival in the last two decades.

As Orthodox,it is sad for me to see how deep is the ethnofiletism engrained in most of the Orthodox Churches, and in the last 150 years, very bad things have happened to slavophonic Macedonians because of it.

If you come to say kind words,do not say "FYROM".

    Just say "our countries",or whatever.

  • Yes, I red what you have said, and I didn't find it as insult. Thank you very much for your good comments. But, maybe, your mistake was that you didn't try to explain your posts until everybody gets the point. Anyway, lets love one each other as our Father lovest us, no matter are we Greek, Macedonian, Serbian...

Pray for me, brothers and sisters in Christ!

  • Piss of blasphemer.

  • wow this is beautiful video is not supposed to cause controversy. my brother you need the words of the holy spirit and put politics aside.

  • Amazing.

    :D

  • BEAUTIFUL!

Is this "It is the day of Resurrection Glory of the Praises- Plagal First Tone?

I am Greek but Orthodox first. There is no hatred here. As Orthodox brethen we should love one another, keeping in my mind the fear of the Lord and that we were created in the image and likeness of our Saviour as brothers.

By the way this issue of FYROM/Greece is getting old.

    Hristos Vroskese!

  • I agree,God won't ask us about our nationality but about our deeds and words. We are all Orthodox Christians, brothers and sisters in Christ.I'm not Greek, but I love all the people including Greeks. This is the choir of the Teologian high school of Macedonia and one of the boys who are singing is my good fiend.I hope one day we'll learn what these words mean- But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice (Matt. 9:13).Pray for me,sinner!

  • nahhhh, they dont know how to sing greeks....

  • exactly, that's why its so beautiful :)

  • Beautiful! post more if u can

  • What beautiful chant. The main chanter has a very wonderful voice with which to glorify God and edify His people!
