  • LOVE this! :)

  • They got 30 seconds in and the second horn blew it with bad intonation. Why didn't they just redo it? On second thought, that horn player should just be fired because he can't hear that he is out of tune at 1:13 either. Or maybe he showed up to the session late and didn't warm up his horn. This is why buying recordings of orchestras annoys me. I can imagine it better than they can play it. Saddening. :(

  • @DerangedRanger1 As far as I could check by listening, the horns play right. Debussy's score includes simultaneous Major 2nd interval for horns at 30". At 1'13, the horn could be better tuned, but the pitch is right. Remembering that horns are rather harmonically than equal tempered.

  • @didgig From the time I spent in orchestras, something I noticed that many don't seem to understand is that there is more to intonation than simply playing the right pitch. If you you don't play as a unit it will not sound in tune. For example, not attacking precisely, or more commonly, not listening across or studying scores enough to know who you are playing with so that you can match timbres. I would have made them do this again with more attentive ears.

  • @DerangedRanger1 Ouch, that WAS out of tune, lol!

  • It's all about 3:56-4:30. The cello and horns in this part are so moving.

  • me too...from 5:45 to 6:30 is like a musical orgasm!

  • me three.

  • @bbwannab One of the greatest 3/4ths of a minute as any i've heard in music.

  • @pelleas08 If you love this part, you might also like Yann Tiersen's music from the film Amélie. It's very much alike ;)

  • very nice work! wish it was on high quality to show more clearly the notes... hopfully I have the score somewhere...

  • thanks very much. But high quality movie for read notes etc means a very large amount of memory... I'm planning to put this material in another place with a better quality. I'll let know!

  • @galliard1981
