i made a dual boot with win 7 and snow leopard but i need to know how to get my card running. it's not even identified in "about this mac" and it shows only 3 Mb of VRAM memory... i can't even watch youtube videos, use the cam or at lease open images... i need something like ati6000controller.kext ....but how do i properly use/edit it? thanks

I got it running with iAtkos but the only issue is the drivers. The drivers cause a kernal panic. Can you make a video of you installing those.

I have the same PC but can't see anything when booted into Mac so would be nice to see it all from the beginning on how I'm suppose to do it.

Mac OS will need roughly 8 GB. Well what I did was

500GB HDD

200 GB (NTFS) to Windows

50 GB (APPLE + Journeled ) to Mac OS

50 GB (FREE SPACE) to Linux

200 GB (FAT) Shared Between OS'es

How did you partition your hard drive for instaler windows and mac os x?

Using the MAC OS Disk Utility.

1. Create 2 Partitions (Optional 3 if you would like to create a partition used by both Operating Systems)

2. Define Partition 1 as MAC - Journeled - For Mac OS

3. Define Partition 2 as FAT - For Windows

4. Define Partition 3 as FAT - For both - (Optional Step) Size of partitions are up to you. I recommend a bare minimum of 10GB for Partition 1 and 2.

5. Once you have created your partition table install Mac os.

6. Insert your windows cd and boot from cd.

7. At the install window click Advanced

7. Select the FAT Partition you created for windows and click format - this will convert the partition to NTFS.

9. Install windows as you normally would.

You now have dual boot.

Video is 66% working. I have full 3d on hdmi vga and lcd however the lcd is not displaying properly. Video is flawless on VGA and HDMI.

Did you have to delete your Acer recovery partition in order to partition the hard drive with GUID scheme?

Yes, using this method will require you to format the drive and repartition it accordingly

To avoid data loss. simply create a Ghost image of the drive and restore it later

@statusphere Decided to go with Clonezilla. Tried it out by shrinking my Windows partition, installing Linux, and then restoring the entire disk to the image I created. Best of all, it's FREE, and I didn't have to install anything since it works off a bootable live cd :)

Nope its a i5 420M which was not supported during my initial install of OS X. OS X however does recognize it properly.

It seems certain boot files cause the system to run hotter than others. Currently the project is paused due to my schedule but I am hoping to have a little time to work on this is the next day or so.

the latest version of DSDT autopatcher does the 7741g so it says.

Seem to be having overheating issues with the machine it shuts off randomly before I can dl and install the osx update and do multibeast. Could it be a software issue? Machine never does it on win7

Try elevating your system by sitting it on a book or something so the exhaust isn't too close to the surface. More breathing room will resolve this issue. It seems some "boot" files causes hackintoshes to run hotter. I will work on resolving this issue once I have fixed my internal display problem

Well I don't wanna say wifi isnt possible but I have not got it working yet. As far as the video is concerned I have full 3d on all displays however my internal LCD is displaying is not displaying correctly. I havent had much time to work on it but I really hope to get this working soon.

Yes for VM "Virtual Machine" installations video, sound, network, etc are all controlled by the host operating system however in my opinion VM's are awesome but they do not deliver the full os x experience. I actually have Logic Pro 9 running flawlessly on my Hackintosh :)

I never tried installing LP9 on a VM but I doubt it would work and if it did I'm sure there would be considerable lag. I might give it a try and see how it works.

i have only 1 HDD and i shrunk it so i could have a partition specially for mac but when i try to format it as a GUID partition with the partition named mac os i cant i could only do it if i select the whole HDD and but doin so erasing the wikndows part of it ...

If you wish to Dual-Boot you will need to create multiple partitions. Windows will require a FAT Partition.

Windows 7 cannot be installed on a FAT partition however you can reformat the partition once in windows setup by using the advanced features. formatting the fat partition in windows will automatially convert it to NTFS.

If you are using the er-ecovery garbage you will need to delete the efi partition that was automatically created.

Partition your drive using a GUID Partition Table to resolve the "Can't be installed" error and as long as it is Snow Lepoard 10.6X it will be fine.
