I think with regards to the English Language, most educated people in Singapore can switch between formal English and Singlish, while actually being proficient in both.

Contrary to people who think that Jack Neo's films is shallow, I think he is one of the most insightful in the film industry. His real gift lies in the addressing of real Singaporean issues in his movies without engaging the scissors of the censors, such that they ultimately remain mainstream for everyone to see his message.
