Democrats said participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual income into the Program. Democrats changed that to 7.65% on the first $90,000.

@bla34112 Dude, I'm from the UK, and I know how well-known the NHS is for dirty hospitals, long waiting lists, cost-cutting, long waits even when you do get an appointment etc. It's not 'free' as you're paying for it in taxes (including the stealth tax of inflation). Today I live in Malaysia, completely different. Want an asthma inhaler? Just walk into a chemist and buy one, about 4 quid. In the UK it's appointments, long waits and 7.50. Hospitals here are clean, polite friendly and cheap.

For example I was stung by a jellyfish. Not knowing what sort and how bad I went to the hospital, was asked if I'd be paying. My first response was "Not if I don't have to?" but my (local) wife jumped in and said 'Yes!" Sent to different wing, waited about 3 mins for treatment, total cost of 12.50, including drugs etc.

In the UK you pay so much for the bloated and inefficent NHS that private care, such as BUPA, is out of reach of the normal working bod, not least because government hates competition. The private care in the UK is strangled to death by regulations, making it vastly more expensive than it needs to be, if only to make the NHS look reasonable by comparison. Malaysians can afford Malaysian private care if they want it, the British cannot (but a few)

Too many people can drive cars and do many many physical things and I cannot even walk due to arthritis and cannot get SS and have been fighting 13 years. I feel your pain. Democrats said participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual income into the Program. Democrats changed that to 7.65% on the first $90,000.

Also, if millionaires and billionaires were taxed their fair share, that is after the $250,000 cutoff (meaning any income over $250,000 has no social security tax taken out) for just a year social security would be solvent for another 75.

I do, I have also lived in germany.. and no you have been indoctrinated. healthcare is.. compared to the US excellent in germany.. its cheaper, and more reliable, and no you dont have to wait forever to get important treatment. My granny per example still lives in Germany, she had Cancer and she got examined, cut open and sewed back together within a week.
And no, 90% of all medical discoveries are not from America... besides, what you are talking about is research, not treatment.

After living 25 years in Canada experiencing its miserable health care program, I kissed American soil when I came to the USA and got quality health care for a change. Go to Canada and sit for hours in the waiting room while waiting to see a doctor. And, "if" you are lucky enough to be "allowed" see a doctor, you'll wait weeks for treatment. And, if you need surgery, good luck

@bla34112 Dude, I'm from the UK, and I know how well-known the NHS is for dirty hospitals, long waiting lists, cost-cutting, long waits even when you do get an appointment etc. It's not 'free' as you're paying for it in taxes (including the stealth tax of inflation). Today I live in Malaysia, completely different. Want an asthma inhaler? Just walk into a chemist and buy one, about 4 quid. In the UK it's appointments, long waits and 7.50. Hospitals here are clean, polite friendly and cheap.

For example I was stung by a jellyfish. Not knowing what sort and how bad I went to the hospital, was asked if I'd be paying. My first response was "Not if I don't have to?" but my (local) wife jumped in and said 'Yes!" Sent to different wing, waited about 3 mins for treatment, total cost of 12.50, including drugs etc.

In the UK you pay so much for the bloated and inefficent NHS that private care, such as BUPA, is out of reach of the normal working bod, not least because government hates competition. The private care in the UK is strangled to death by regulations, making it vastly more expensive than it needs to be, if only to make the NHS look reasonable by comparison. Malaysians can afford Malaysian private care if they want it, the British cannot (but a few)
