  • Awesome thank you for the vid, makes me want to work even harder! :D

  • @rahungry That's the idea. Get big, get hard!

  • @andrjsh get an erection?

  • @andrjsh yeah im gonna get so hard my pants rip!

  • where is Eugen Sandow I dont see him..

  • @MrSobreC01 He is on my other video, "Pioneers of Bodybuilding."

  • @FanaticSwimming I support that 100%

  • @steroidsR4deceivers Bodybuilder's don't hide the fact that they use steroids Jay Cutler himself stated in deleted scenes of Bigger, Faster, Stronger that "steroids are involved in the sport" so yes steroids are involved in bodybuilding but you do what it takes to be the best. Anything else means failure, so instead of trolling online like all the other "steroidsR4" idiots why don't you get a life and make something of yourself...

  • @Tony78432 Exactly.

  • Estos son verdaderos culturistas, no como los ciclaos que hay ahora...

  • Todays preparation determines tomorrow's achievement - This my friends is one of the pillars that defines bodybuilding and those above are the fine example of what this discipline is all about.

  • A great era, great memories. The great Scott, Chuck Sipes, Franco, Sergio, Arnold, Wilkosz, Platz - wow, what can you say? Great video.

  • @all66books Thanks for the compliment. These men were before my time but they were the pioneers and looked great.

  • song?

  • @demoncoreftw "Conquest of Paradise," by Vangelis, from the movie of the same name.

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger Wins Mr Universe (1969) [HD]

  • Arnold - The one and only, he is the heart of bodybuilding, I do not think i'll never see such a perfect body in the sport again. Like a carved masterpiece. Thanks for your choice in life.

  • great slide show! Thanks for sharing.

  • @Univox68 Thank you very much. I hope it inspires you in the gym.

  • @Univox68 Thank you very much. I hope it inspires you in the gym.

  • im amazed at how attainable these guys bodies look. And natural, like I think I could get many of these physiques; the modern guys, not at all. I couldn't get a ronnie coleman or phil heath body, but perhaps I could shoot for this type of body instead. I think I like these guys more overall.

  • this is how bodybuilders should look lile...not today freaks...fuck weider ,he`s the only responsible for this sport going down the toilet

  • this is how bodybuilders should look like!

  • @andrjsh thank you...

  • their physique looks like sculpted by the best craftsmen...

by the way what is the song that is playin in the background

  • @blnswamy3 "Conquest of Paradise," by Vangelis, from the movie of the same name.

  • U should put their names in black ink

  • These guys must of gotten a shit load of pussy back in the day!!

  • Also today's bodybuilders can't pose for shit

  • The last one, the best one....

  • I like this music. I'm going to use it in my next show...

  • @jacked26 Thanks for the compliment.

  • they look like gods

  • today's bodybuilders are too big those are better

  • Belo video. parabens , ta ai todos os grandes fisiculturistas q o mundo ja teve.

  • MMMMM

  • Hemicari.............!

  • Amazing. I really do appreciate this because I don't know the mentors of BB, just know from olympia onwards.

  • @Enanurri You are welcome. BB from earlier eras emphasized proportion rather than size, which seems more natural than mammoth dimensions.

  • The ONLY complaint I have about this video is some of the words are difficult to make out, aside from that I was moved enough to put this in my favorites... :)

  • @HulkingBravo This was a video from my early days and I did not know that one could change the color on the type. The original file is gone, unfortunately, so this is the only version I have.

  • Could anyone post which of these guys are natural? Just for reference. I wish Zabo was on here

  • New generation: Hypodermic Heroes.

  • I think the most noticable difference in the stomachs, some of the guys in this you can see they have pulled in stomachs when posing while the ugle fucks today are bloated and look pregnant

  • Are these guys all natural?

  • @dontbelikejake Unfortunately, no. The later BBs are definitely juiced up.

  • @andrjsh well, if you think in Arnold's era they didnt juice - you are wrong. It started in late 50s, and by late 60s only a lazy athlete would not do it. But the pharma they used back than, such as Danabol, was quite primitve compared to todays extreme coctails of HGH, Trenbolone etc. Also, it was legal back then. So, yes, they did juice, but it wasn't even close to the amounts and potency of pharma BBs take today....

  • Dang, its obvious to see when steriods and drugs took over the sport

  • Those guys are not as natural as they look .Larry Scott and Mike Mentzer andmitted the use of steroids ,now i don't point my finger at them because i know you need to be edged to get big in bodybuilding but they needed something to get there .No offense tho ,i would use them myself if i were'nt chicken-shit of them :D i'm still going natural until i can't lift more weights anymore than i will think it over :D

  • @mmmeijer01

Back then roids were legal, they were just another fishy bodybuilding supplement. No one should point fingers at these guys, it would be like if whey protein became illegal then 20 years down the road a new generation points fingers at us natural bodybuilders of today for "Cheating".

  • Wow, bodybuilders looked like muscular humans back then.

  • franco and arnold work together in olampiya franco is far more stronger then arnold but he has small height and arnold took roids and franco said he never touch them as arnold said he was a power lifter and i took him to bodybuilding and he took me to weight lifting , but at all arnold is best .

  • it was great, but i was only sad, that by a lot of them you didnt really show what theyve got, for example fenomenal Serge Nubret or Franco Columbu. Other then that great video :)

  • the music suckd

  • @axehayable justin bieber fan club

  • History of increasingly powerful anabolic steroids adding increasing amounts of muscle to short buys.

  • These guys( at first half of the video) had a incredible physique

And here is the poof you can reach a body like this without steroids.

In the time these men were bodybuilder/40s- early 60s) steroids doesnt exist

  • @MrCherryKirsche Steroid use has been around since the early 50's

  • @jasonthedragon73 thats right but not by every bodybuilder with a great physique and i think the big use of steroids began in the 60s (maybe end of 50s

  • @MrCherryKirsche You are right mate..I've been researching heaps..I noticed physiques straying away from the natural look to the juiced look bout the late 60's onward..I thought everyone was on them since the early 50's..Once again I was too quick to post a comment before I knew what I was talking about..Sorry bout that MrCherry..

  • @jasonthedragon73 no problem bro

you dont need to feel sorry about

i welcome your knowledge and research

  • Not to be an asshole or anything, but are there any MEXICAN bodybuilders?? Just a thought!?

  • Thanks for posting. Most of these guys looked great. And, while some of the later ones were "using" a little, they did not have roidgut like the guys today. Most of the guys shown here were also athletic. Zane was/is an archer. Arnold was a curler (the icesport) Katz played professional football at one time, Franco was a boxer. Many of the guys now literally cannot walk 2 blocks without becoming winded. All chemical warfare, now.

  • nose fetishist here, steve reeves had hotttest most suckable nose of retro bodybuilders. am younger but love his type of nose,

  • I thought some were Greek Statues XD dam

  • @ 3:37 pete grymkowski.. That is what a bodybuilder should look like.. not like these guys now a days... great physique..

  • at 1:11 the roids took over

  • arnold ins't "pumping iron" ???

  • ma anno tutti i muscoli pompati

  • A nation of natural bodybuilders dedicated also to training their minds and holding to a high a moral code could put America back on the right track.

  • @jamieA1A I agree.

  • @jamieA1A The other pieces do not have the stirring quality of this one, but some are interesting and if you are in the right mood, they have their appeal. On Amazon you can listen to samples.

  • @jamieA1A bodybuilding has nothing to do with politics

I respect these guys a lot , infact I see myself as a bodybuildera swell

old school vince gironda style , but you cannot compare bodybuilding with politics dude

    2 totally different things

  • @henrik199414

My statement wasn't intended to be political. Rather I was suggesting that bodybuilding can be nation building.

  • rag park!

  • White one white? Way to go

  • Those earlier men are so beautiful. They just look like artwork.

  • women love a vascular man

turns out a great many men, also love a vascular man

  • agreed they look way better than the bodybuilders today

  • @2cutthroatterrorist lol true like the super cow but much respect to those guys too they also work hard but just too bulky but i guess to each his own

  • can i know what is this song so cool....bro tq

  • @bobonifacekemarau "Conquest of Paradise," by Vangelis, from the movie of the same name. The CD is available.

  • @andrjsh

Is the rest of the music on the CD even half as good? I'm interested in buying it.

  • they all look like they've been carved out of stone in my opinion this is bodybuiling

  • In 1950s-1980s bodybuilders were considered healthy, good-looking, proportional, successful etc, basically any woman's dream. Guess why? Because they were. Nowadays it aint the same.... Look at Ronnie Coleman. I mean, i respect him greatly for his dedication and pride.... But think, would any normal woman want to have kids from him? All the rumours around pharma etc... general opinion has turned bodybuilding into a "secondary" sport. Bodybuilders are rarely respected by normal ppl today. Sad.

  • @dan7edan7e I agree. Earlier BB were within the realm of possibility and reality. Modern BB (who are nonetheless impressive and fearsome in appearance) are obviously the products of continuous steroids, HGH, narrow diets, etc. (I like Branch Range, by the way). A woman's greatest fear when dealing with a man is that he will physically harm her--what will she think of one of the ogres lumbering through the pages of M&F, Flex, etc.?

  • @andrjsh Yep, thats right. And its not only women. Just remember the 70s-90s action movies: Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, Stallone... Strength and physical development was a cult. Every teenager had a poster of their favorite bodybuilder on their wall. Nowadays its a common opinion that bodybuilders are unhealthy and far from intelligent. Forget the muscles, its better to be skinny, do coke, and drive a BMW. I wonder, when did this happen? Where is BB going in the future?

  • @dan7edan7e I train to care for the physical part of my life, to create a balance with the mental and spiritual parts of my life. George Eiferman used to give lectures in schools in which he would hand of inspirational cards speaking of this. See the book "Muscle Beach." Modern BBs stumble over their words & put up the persona goons. I think that BB will either cruise along as it is or veer into more bizarre experiments. The question is: is there a point which the body cannot cross?

  • @dan7edan7e

yepp, these days, people would rather have a happy meal and watch the newest episode of their favorite show on tv. ah well, all it does is make the few that do body build in this country look even better!

  • @dan7edan7e Dude, bodybuilding has nothing to do with fitness and health as it doesn't improve your cardiovascular fitness. Look to distance running and cycling for fit people, as you won't find these people huffing and puffing after walking a flight of stairs. Distance runners also live longer on average than non-runners.

  • @SlaveryHelped i am a bodybuilder and I dont find myself huffing and puffing after walking a flight of stairs.... i can run 3 km in 11'30 and my wife does not complain about my endurance in bed =) so .... get rid of those prejudices ....

  • @SlaveryHelped

That is an ignorant comment and you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

  • Clarence Ross and Josuph Wilkenz look like ancient statues.

  • I'd rather look like these guys then bodybuilders today that look fake and most likely scare women away

  • These were all much more symetric and proportional bodybuilders than today's mass monsters. But only 5% of the guys in this video was drug free - nearly them all took steroids.

  • music?

  • @BatmanGriffin "Conquest of Paradise," by Vangelis, from the movie of the same name.

  • @andrjsh thanks

  • great video, I might suggest you change the color of the text, sometimes you can't see if when its white on white

  • great video, I would suggest you chance the color of the text though, you can't read some of the names very clearly when its white on white

  • Do Steroids work for muscle and growing taller after puberty?

  • @TheLeilisa The skeleton finishes growing at about age 25. After that you cannot grow taller, but can get more muscular. I would not encourage any kind of experiments to make your bones grow beyond their natural course, since you cannot change them back. There are two general goals in bodybuilding: size and proportion. A short well-proportioned builder is as inspiring, attractive, and successful as a tall one.

  • @TheLeilisa no they cannot but there are certian medecine that your doctor can perscribe if u are too short that will stimulate your pituatary gland making you taller after puberty

  • mike kats was in there?

  • @elite99900 Yes, at 3:19 and 4:27.

  • @andrjsh no why was he in there

  • @elite99900 Because he was one of the bodybuilders of that era. As I recall he was in "Pumping Iron."

  • @andrjsh some of these guys were Drug free..amazing

  • @elite99900 Mike Katz was also Mr. Universe.

  • Great soundtrack. Lump me in with those who feel that the builders of the 50's and early 60's looked the best. Thanks for this video.

  • First class job. What a great video. Made me really inspired. Albert Beckles' biceps are totally insane.

  • @160n3rd Thank you very much. These men inspire us all.

  • I dont know about you guys, but it seems right when dave draper hit the scene, the word "freak" started to exist. Hell man look at that back. I have a massive back myself, but geez man. He is my favorite for sure, he looked so much different. Bomber for life!

  • thx for the video...to be honest I used steroids when I was 16! and I was so big and great... but no more!!!! fuck that shit! now im natural...its harder but safety

  • larry scott looks best in this vid.

  • Modern bodybuilders have my respect since they still go through a very incredible and challenging process although I still prefer the classic bodybuilders. Their physiques were just incredible, well proportioned and resembled Greek statues. Just awesome!

  • the muscles are still there, but the spirit is gone or at least different

  • That was Incredible........Although, I did not see Peter Lupus in your line up. He was one of my favorites back in the day. Thanks for sharing.

  • hey anyone feel short? here is the solution

" Helpo Growth Formula " it worked for me....

  • Very good video. Congrats and felicitations.

  • "Conquest of Paradise," by Vangelis, from the movie of the same name.

  • @andrjsh cheers mate

  • can you give me a song name ?

  • Bodybuilding has his meaning in this video, these are true pieces of symmetrical and esthetical achievement, Bravoo

  • Brilliant video man very well done:-)

Personally i think it was pumping iron that sparked the breed of the freakbuilder, it brought it to a wider audience and every one wanted to be the biggest and the best, but, with perfection there must be sacarifice, we look back now and respect what was. Truely awesome

  • @ste854 Thanks for your comment. You are right about the contemporary "freak," but that might also be a marketing plot to sell more Cell Tech or whatever. In the end you use good techniques in order to manifest your innate potential.

  • no steroids here

  • PERFECT

  • Quiero ser como ellos .....

  • THAT IS BODYBUILDING! Today it is freakbuilding!

  • The more I learn about these classic bodybuilders the more I put them in front of the bigger steroid overusing bb-ers nowadays..eventhough they arent natural either. But the total package is perfect, with small waists, the X-shape body and you can relate or compare yourself easier to them than for example Ronnie Coleman whos thighs are even bigger than his waist line...thats just sick.

  • wow i can't describe the emotions i felt while watching this video, this has changed my perception on bodybuilding nd

  • @MegaFisser Thanks. I hope the change was a good one.

  • @andrjsh It definitely was matter of fact I'am going to work out right NOW!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Much more beautifu than those steroids monsters.I really miss this kind of bodybuiding.

  • @yuanxiaoyi I agree, bodybuilders of older generations worked to fulfill the natural propensities of their bodies, which contemporary BBs seem to emphasize size and "freakishness."

  • @andrjsh I agree.

  • i enjoyed watching this video with bodybuilders from the past who looked like greek statues, but bodybuilders today look like crap

  • @GrowlingVocals Thanks for the compliment. Modern bodybuilders are impressive in their size and vascularity, but the "best" are not beautiful, if you know what I mean.

  • @GrowlingVocals Yes, the bodybuilders leading up to Arnold looked like works of art...Arnold being the best of the lot...the bodybuilders of today look freakish....

  • @RhinoRodriguez76 Agree with you on that. But I also like to add Bob Paris, Berry DeMey, Lee Haney, and Lee Labrada that were after Arnold. I think after Lee Haney that's when BBer's started getting worst.

  • You a fan of high volume or low volume? or a mix of both?

  • @SR4LosersIsMYBITCH I do just a couple of simple exercises each workout with good form and moderately heavy weight. I see this as a lifetime pursuit and do not want to mess up my joints (more that they are already from past errors).

  • muscle men should accept that this is like fashion shows

  • Great video...i would have chose a different color for the names tho. could hardly read most of those

  • Great compilation thanks

  • So beautiful sport and style of life. Im not gay but those bodybuilders look so beautiful. ^^

  • @sonari2 Theirs is nothing Gay about admiring a nice physique. In fact sayin "im not gay" makes u sound a little insecure about ur sexuality. I mean, its hard not to look at these guys and admire the beauty and wanna be like them.

  • guys, how do you think?if i feel perfectly pumped after 3 sets should i do the 4th set?

  • @GrowlingVocals If you have the energy to do more, do more, as long as you do not injure yourself. Periodically go to failure if you want to get bigger.

  • @andrjsh i used to do so many reps and sets that several times i felt like i was blacking out, with fairly heavy weights,i have energy for very long workouts and i wonder when the good pumps ends and the excessive tiring begins

  • @GrowlingVocals A good amount of instinct comes into play. If you're woozy, nauseous, or sick then you are probably working out too much. Another important tool is pacing yourself throughout the workout. I encouraged you to do more assuming that you still have that good feeling throughout your body. If you are worn out, then either rest or stop. But only you know how you feel.

  • @andrjsh so its better to lift weights as long as it is pleasant?i used to work out far after my hands started shaking, maybe thats the problem of growing very slowly?

  • @GrowlingVocals A better word than "pleasant" is "satisfying." Hard work can be satisfying (or gratifying) but pacing yourself is important, otherwise you get sick of it. I'm getting old, too, so maybe that's why I'm preaching the Gospel of Taking It Slow. Shaking is a sign of either low blood sugar or overstimulation of the tissues.

  • @andrjsh so im trying not to overtrain anymore but the question im concerned about is when i should stop, well i guess its up to me after all, thanks for answering

  • these are the real deal...natural!

  • Who was that little fellow at the end? ;-)

  • kapo me encanto tu video

    G.Baldomir

  • so inspirational!
