im amazed at how attainable these guys bodies look. And natural, like I think I could get many of these physiques; the modern guys, not at all. I couldn't get a ronnie coleman or phil heath body, but perhaps I could shoot for this type of body instead. I think I like these guys more overall.

@andrjsh well, if you think in Arnold's era they didnt juice - you are wrong. It started in late 50s, and by late 60s only a lazy athlete would not do it. @jasonthedragon73 thats right but not by every bodybuilder with a great physique and i think the big use of steroids began in the 60s (maybe end of 50s
@MrCherryKirsche You are right mate..I've been researching heaps..I noticed physiques straying away from the natural look to the juiced look bout the late 60's onward..I thought everyone was on them since the early 50's..Once again I was too quick to post a comment before I knew what I was talking about..Sorry bout that MrCherry..
Thanks for posting. Most of these guys looked great. And, while some of the later ones were "using" a little, they did not have roidgut like the guys today. Most of the guys shown here were also athletic. Zane was/is an archer. Arnold was a curler (the icesport) Katz played professional football at one time, Franco was a boxer. Many of the guys now literally cannot walk 2 blocks without becoming winded. All chemical warfare, now.

Type in the following: "gain muscle fast in 12 weeks or less". It's the third video from the top or click my name below. Thanks to all that viewed. God bless and feel free to leave comments!
@jamieA1A The other pieces do not have the stirring quality of this one, but some are interesting and if you are in the right mood, they have their appeal. On Amazon you can listen to samples.
@2cutthroatterrorist lol true like the super cow but much respect to those guys too they also work hard but just too bulky but i guess to each his own
In 1950s-1980s bodybuilders were considered healthy, good-looking, proportional, successful etc, basically any woman's dream. Guess why? Because they were. Nowadays it aint the same.... Look at Ronnie Coleman. I mean, i respect him greatly for his dedication and pride.... But think, would any normal woman want to have kids from him? All the rumours around pharma etc... general opinion has turned bodybuilding into a "secondary" sport. Bodybuilders are rarely respected by normal ppl today. Sad.
@dan7edan7e I agree. Earlier BB were within the realm of possibility and reality. Modern BB (who are nonetheless impressive and fearsome in appearance) are obviously the products of continuous steroids, HGH, narrow diets, etc. (I like Branch Range, by the way). A woman's greatest fear when dealing with a man is that he will physically harm her--what will she think of one of the ogres lumbering through the pages of M&F, Flex, etc.?
@andrjsh Yep, thats right. And its not only women. Just remember the 70s-90s action movies: Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, Stallone... Strength and physical development was a cult. Every teenager had a poster of their favorite bodybuilder on their wall. Nowadays its a common opinion that bodybuilders are unhealthy and far from intelligent. Forget the muscles, its better to be skinny, do coke, and drive a BMW. I wonder, when did this happen? Where is BB going in the future?
@dan7edan7e I train to care for the physical part of my life, to create a balance with the mental and spiritual parts of my life. George Eiferman used to give lectures in schools in which he would hand of inspirational cards speaking of this. See the book "Muscle Beach." Modern BBs stumble over their words & put up the persona goons. I think that BB will either cruise along as it is or veer into more bizarre experiments. The question is: is there a point which the body cannot cross?
yepp, these days, people would rather have a happy meal and watch the newest episode of their favorite show on tv. ah well, all it does is make the few that do body build in this country look even better!
@dan7edan7e Dude, bodybuilding has nothing to do with fitness and health as it doesn't improve your cardiovascular fitness. Look to distance running and cycling for fit people, as you won't find these people huffing and puffing after walking a flight of stairs. Distance runners also live longer on average than non-runners.
@SlaveryHelped i am a bodybuilder and I dont find myself huffing and puffing after walking a flight of stairs.... i can run 3 km in 11'30 and my wife does not complain about my endurance in bed =) so .... get rid of those prejudices ....
These were all much more symetric and proportional bodybuilders than today's mass monsters. But only 5% of the guys in this video was drug free - nearly them all took steroids.
@TheLeilisa The skeleton finishes growing at about age 25. After that you cannot grow taller, but can get more muscular. I would not encourage any kind of experiments to make your bones grow beyond their natural course, since you cannot change them back. There are two general goals in bodybuilding: size and proportion. A short well-proportioned builder is as inspiring, attractive, and successful as a tall one.
@TheLeilisa no they cannot but there are certian medecine that your doctor can perscribe if u are too short that will stimulate your pituatary gland making you taller after puberty
I dont know about you guys, but it seems right when dave draper hit the scene, the word "freak" started to exist. Hell man look at that back. I have a massive back myself, but geez man. He is my favorite for sure, he looked so much different. Bomber for life!
thx for the video...to be honest I used steroids when I was 16! and I was so big and great... but no more!!!! fuck that shit! now im natural...its harder but safety
Modern bodybuilders have my respect since they still go through a very incredible and challenging process although I still prefer the classic bodybuilders. Their physiques were just incredible, well proportioned and resembled Greek statues. Just awesome!
Personally i think it was pumping iron that sparked the breed of the freakbuilder, it brought it to a wider audience and every one wanted to be the biggest and the best, but, with perfection there must be sacarifice, we look back now and respect what was. Truely awesome
@ste854 Thanks for your comment. You are right about the contemporary "freak," but that might also be a marketing plot to sell more Cell Tech or whatever. In the end you use good techniques in order to manifest your innate potential.
The more I learn about these classic bodybuilders the more I put them in front of the bigger steroid overusing bb-ers nowadays..eventhough they arent natural either. But the total package is perfect, with small waists, the X-shape body and you can relate or compare yourself easier to them than for example Ronnie Coleman whos thighs are even bigger than his waist line...thats just sick.
@yuanxiaoyi I agree, bodybuilders of older generations worked to fulfill the natural propensities of their bodies, which contemporary BBs seem to emphasize size and "freakishness."
@GrowlingVocals Thanks for the compliment. Modern bodybuilders are impressive in their size and vascularity, but the "best" are not beautiful, if you know what I mean.
@GrowlingVocals Yes, the bodybuilders leading up to Arnold looked like works of art...Arnold being the best of the lot...the bodybuilders of today look freakish....
@RhinoRodriguez76 Agree with you on that. But I also like to add Bob Paris, Berry DeMey, Lee Haney, and Lee Labrada that were after Arnold. I think after Lee Haney that's when BBer's started getting worst.
@SR4LosersIsMYBITCH I do just a couple of simple exercises each workout with good form and moderately heavy weight. I see this as a lifetime pursuit and do not want to mess up my joints (more that they are already from past errors).
@sonari2 Theirs is nothing Gay about admiring a nice physique. In fact sayin "im not gay" makes u sound a little insecure about ur sexuality. I mean, its hard not to look at these guys and admire the beauty and wanna be like them.
@GrowlingVocals If you have the energy to do more, do more, as long as you do not injure yourself. Periodically go to failure if you want to get bigger.
@andrjsh i used to do so many reps and sets that several times i felt like i was blacking out, with fairly heavy weights,i have energy for very long workouts and i wonder when the good pumps ends and the excessive tiring begins
@GrowlingVocals A good amount of instinct comes into play. If you're woozy, nauseous, or sick then you are probably working out too much. Another important tool is pacing yourself throughout the workout. I encouraged you to do more assuming that you still have that good feeling throughout your body. If you are worn out, then either rest or stop. But only you know how you feel.
@andrjsh so its better to lift weights as long as it is pleasant?i used to work out far after my hands started shaking, maybe thats the problem of growing very slowly?
@GrowlingVocals A better word than "pleasant" is "satisfying." Hard work can be satisfying (or gratifying) but pacing yourself is important, otherwise you get sick of it. I'm getting old, too, so maybe that's why I'm preaching the Gospel of Taking It Slow. Shaking is a sign of either low blood sugar or overstimulation of the tissues.
@andrjsh so im trying not to overtrain anymore but the question im concerned about is when i should stop, well i guess its up to me after all, thanks for answering

I dont know about you guys, but it seems right when dave draper hit the scene, the word "freak" started to exist. Hell man look at that back. I have a massive back myself, but geez man. He is my favorite for sure, he looked so much different. Bomber for life!

Modern bodybuilders have my respect since they still go through a very incredible and challenging process although I still prefer the classic bodybuilders. Their physiques were just incredible, well proportioned and resembled Greek statues. Just awesome!

the muscles are still there, but the spirit is gone or at least different

That was Incredible........Although, I did not see Peter Lupus in your line up. He was one of my favorites back in the day. Thanks for sharing.

Bodybuilding has his meaning in this video, these are true pieces of symmetrical and esthetical achievement, Bravoo

Brilliant video man very well done:-)
Personally i think it was pumping iron that sparked the breed of the freakbuilder, it brought it to a wider audience and every one wanted to be the biggest and the best, but, with perfection there must be sacarifice, we look back now and respect what was. Truely awesome
ste854 1 year ago 2
@ste854 Thanks for your comment. You are right about the contemporary "freak," but that might also be a marketing plot to sell more Cell Tech or whatever. In the end you use good techniques in order to manifest your innate potential.

THAT IS BODYBUILDING! Today it is freakbuilding!
Hbue84 1 year ago
The more I learn about these classic bodybuilders the more I put them in front of the bigger steroid overusing bb-ers nowadays..eventhough they arent natural either. But the total package is perfect, with small waists, the X-shape body and you can relate or compare yourself easier to them than for example Ronnie Coleman whos thighs are even bigger than his waist line...thats just sick.

wow i can't describe the emotions i felt while watching this video, this has changed my perception on bodybuilding nd

Much more beautifu than those steroids monsters.I really miss this kind of bodybuiding.
yuanxiaoyi 1 year ago 5
@yuanxiaoyi I agree, bodybuilders of older generations worked to fulfill the natural propensities of their bodies, which contemporary BBs seem to emphasize size and "freakishness."
andrjsh 1 year ago
@andrjsh I agree.

i enjoyed watching this video with bodybuilders from the past who looked like greek statues, but bodybuilders today look like crap
GrowlingVocals 1 year ago 39
@GrowlingVocals Thanks for the compliment. Modern bodybuilders are impressive in their size and vascularity, but the "best" are not beautiful, if you know what I mean.
andrjsh 1 year ago
@GrowlingVocals Yes, the bodybuilders leading up to Arnold looked like works of art...Arnold being the best of the lot...the bodybuilders of today look freakish....
RhinoRodriguez76 1 year ago
@RhinoRodriguez76 Agree with you on that. But I also like to add Bob Paris, Berry DeMey, Lee Haney, and Lee Labrada that were after Arnold. I think after Lee Haney that's when BBer's started getting worst.

You a fan of high volume or low volume? or a mix of both?
SR4LosersIsMYBITCH 1 year ago
@SR4LosersIsMYBITCH I do just a couple of simple exercises each workout with good form and moderately heavy weight. I see this as a lifetime pursuit and do not want to mess up my joints (more that they are already from past errors).

So beautiful sport and style of life. Im not gay but those bodybuilders look so beautiful. ^^
sonari2 1 year ago
@sonari2 Theirs is nothing Gay about admiring a nice physique. In fact sayin "im not gay" makes u sound a little insecure about ur sexuality. I mean, its hard not to look at these guys and admire the beauty and wanna be like them.
hCHASEs87 1 year ago
guys, how do you think?if i feel perfectly pumped after 3 sets should i do the 4th set?
GrowlingVocals 1 year ago
@GrowlingVocals If you have the energy to do more, do more, as long as you do not injure yourself. Periodically go to failure if you want to get bigger.
andrjsh 1 year ago
@andrjsh i used to do so many reps and sets that several times i felt like i was blacking out, with fairly heavy weights,i have energy for very long workouts and i wonder when the good pumps ends and the excessive tiring begins
GrowlingVocals 1 year ago
@GrowlingVocals A good amount of instinct comes into play. If you're woozy, nauseous, or sick then you are probably working out too much. Another important tool is pacing yourself throughout the workout. I encouraged you to do more assuming that you still have that good feeling throughout your body. If you are worn out, then either rest or stop. But only you know how you feel.
andrjsh 1 year ago
@andrjsh so its better to lift weights as long as it is pleasant?i used to work out far after my hands started shaking, maybe thats the problem of growing very slowly?
GrowlingVocals 1 year ago
@GrowlingVocals A better word than "pleasant" is "satisfying." Hard work can be satisfying (or gratifying) but pacing yourself is important, otherwise you get sick of it. I'm getting old, too, so maybe that's why I'm preaching the Gospel of Taking It Slow. Shaking is a sign of either low blood sugar or overstimulation of the tissues.
andrjsh 1 year ago
@andrjsh so im trying not to overtrain anymore but the question im concerned about is when i should stop, well i guess its up to me after all, thanks for answering
