All they need to do was dye his hair it is a simple fix and it is kind of important I do not see how hair color would limit their pool of actors I know that Viserys and Daenyrus had to do it why can't Mark Addy
@PhumDuck His hair is dark brown. So is that of the actors playing Renly and Gendry. It doesn't matter whether the hair is brown or black, because both genes are dominant. As long they aren't blond, it really truly does not matter, concerning the plot.
Actually it's not like that. I have a big family where golden hair and dark brown hair mix - and often blond hair in childhood turns brown after adolescence for example.
And sometimes difference between brown and blond is clear only in certain light. Opinion may differ even watching unwashed and clean hair of the very same person!
While difference between BLACK and blond is - evident.
@kriimuline Google the genetics involved. Brown is dominant to blond. Always. Now, there can be mixing, because there are recessive genes and cross hybrids, but Gendry, Renly and Robert all in the show have solid dark brown hair. No mixed in blond, no towheads turning dark as they get older. (I actually have that kind of hair, blond turned to light brown as I got older.) The color is dominant, and serves the same function as black.
@kriimuline That's because the brown haired people in your family are Heterozygotes, if one parent is Homozygote dominate then all the children will show the dominate trait.
If the genetics were as simple as black (or brown) haired people have black (or brown) haired children, it wouldn't have been much of a mystery for Ned to solve.
@MrKozeljko Thank you :D Yes, I Know the theories and I love (SPOILER?) R+L theory, but I just hope we can find a definitive answer in A dance with dragons.
1 thing that really pisses me off is the fact that robert doesn't have black hair... the book makes a million mentions of robert and renly's jet black hair, and roberts bastards ie gendry having black hair... here he has brown.
@norik0 well, the book also mentions a lot of specific eye colors and age of each character, but that would limit their pool of actors and actresses they could cast, you can't really expect the adaptation to be spot on on every account. As long as the actors/actresses nail the feel and overall personality of the book characters, I'm satisfied.
@random327 Not bugged last I looked. Once you figure out the right word by folding up the menu just right, you type it as the wine is pouring onscreen. There's no pop-up box or anything, you just type blindly the phrase you've found- no spaces between words.

Every Game of Thrones video has a "Hodor" joke in the comments.

That would suck if tomorrow they announced that this whole Game of Thrones thing was a big April Fool's joke on the book's fanatics.

You have to type in 'tears of lys' while they are pouring the whine or whatever that drink is.
This scene is very well done too by the way.
