Well, of course the government fueled the HMO system. That's basically what i'm pointing to: why doesn't Dr. Paul criticise Both the current insurance system and the intended reform.
I mean, he'd probably say that the legally supported oligopoly should be broken by freeing up the market. But the current proposals don't necessarily go against that. Maybe the Baucus bill, but the house bill it at least of some help, isn't it?
But it is interesting to note that Monopolies are almost all impossible without government help.
Government creates so many loopholes that it can and does seem like slavery now..

It's funny medicare/medicaid is a government funded health care plan, I wonder if people over 60 would like that taken away, since it is a Government health insurance. If I was Obama I'd take medicare away and say, okay have it your way, no government health care period! Ron Paul probley gets medicare benefits he's so old, I'd take his away and give the money to sick 20 year olds.
Ron paul omg bruno is hitting on me LMAO, what a joke!
kuky, you may be more right than you know in regards to taking something from one group to give to another. That is exactly how all govt programs work. As it stands now, most of those over-60 recipients of medicare are probably doing their best not to think about how their care is being provided to them by burdensome taxes extracted from their children, grandchildren, and soon to be great-grandchildren, etc.
The govt doesn't produce the care they give, they just hold the guns that get it.
Hapspir, you are very intelligent in your debate tactics, however I was pointing out the phalacy of people against socialized medicine in the US, considering a form of it already exists.
The Government does need an overhaul, personally, if I have to pay taxes I would like to choose where my tax dollars are going. I do not think assisting minimum wage workers to get healthcare benefits is a bad idea. I would rather see money spent on health care than say, building another F-16!
Kuky, what you are saying is that you approve of force if it is for a good cause (health care). But a good cause cannot remain good for long if it uses force as a method. The medicare/medicaid system that we have now is already straining under the weight of exorbitant costs. Because the people who administer the medicare are given a budget to spend without regard to customer satisfaction (we the people cannot withhold their funds) they have no incentive to spend carefully, and it shows-big time.
No I said cut military spending. I said I would like to choose were my tax dollars went, and one option I would choose would be healthcare, as opposed to war machines. I hope I clarified that for you.

the illuminati killed off the real truth movement and replaced it with Freemason Ron Paul and Alex Jones
The problem with health care is that it is run like a business and is therefore prone to greed. The Hippocratic oath requires doctors practice medinine ethically. Too bad insurance companies don't. I'm neither Democrat or Republican and I've always enjoyed hearing what Ron Paul has to say. I don't think you can find a more logical and rational opinion in politics these days. Pity most find him unelectable.
There is no way health care will improve with the feds taking it over. Healthcare needs to be returned to the medical doctors solely and eliminate the insurance companies telling doctors how to practice medicine. Along with this tort reform is needed so that doctors are not forced to order unnecessary tests out of fear of being sued. This would help lower the costs. A larger supply of doctors, physician assistants, and nurse practiceoners are needed by allowing more students to enter med school.
its very simple Alex pretends to hate the illuminati then hes like buy this Paul Revere Shirt??? Hello mc fly Paul Revere was a freemason and a member of the illuminati Google it .Alex is like I hate the NWO and the illuminati Then he has freemason Ron paul a member of the illuminati going over how there going to abolish the Freemason Federal Reserve ???? laugh ahahah ha ha ha ha
I checked out the site ronpaulsingles. com, and it is despicable and seriously retarded too. I like Ron Paul because he's a good guy but some people need to let go of his nuts.
I checked the Ronpaulsingles site too and it shut down my network. Not just one computer either I'm being serious my router and modem completely shut down and I had to ring my ISP to reset my connection. Dodgy site!
Make love not War eh. Sounds like she did a little Conversational Hypnosis, if people think of Ron Paul as loving and not the War Mongers all governments are then maybe that is good thing. Maybe!
If Ron had explained the whole reason why State Health Care is so bad a lot of people would have been bored and stopped listening.
Adding happier tones to conversations often helps people to remember what is said and agree with him.
Do you really think the drug companies are going to manufacture a disease when the US leads the world on Diabetes and other chronic illnesses which require costly long term care? Would you rather manufacture a single year viral vaccine or an insulin substitute?
The psychiatric division does that all the time inventing new diseases or disorders that have no reason to exist. Like social anxiety disorder, ADHD and all those other made up crap.
If one is made truly to believe one's got ADHD of social anxiety, they'll be convinced they have it.
Similarly you don't need tons of drugs to cure these disorders cuz firstly they're made up and secondly the best way to overcome it is by the power of your mind.
Wow, I thought I was the only one who didn't believe in bullshit like ADD or "Restless Leg Syndrome" and yet everyone argues that these are TRUE disorders, like really? "RLS" just keep your fucking legs still, "ADD" is just a hyperactive child/adult, relax and lay off things that cause hyperactivity.
A while ago i read about some kid who committed some serious crimes (he badly injured some guy and mugged him and did some more shit) and was getting a reduced sentence cuz he was apparently suffering from ADD or ADHD.
It was like are you for real?! Every kid is hyperactive! Its not a disorder or a disease and the court shouldn't be entertaining it being used as an excuse for getting away with crime!!
There is a difference between making up a disease that may not exist to sell a cure and deliberately infecting the population with an infectious disease. If you really believe that these people would do this shit, then you aught to be listening to A. Jones rather than R. Paul.
its interesting. He never answered the first question, which was central to the problem. And the third question (@ 3:19), he basically blamed inflation (which may be true), and advocated for government-sponsored healthcare in the interim, paid for by cuts to overseas spending.

sorry but i am usually right there with you
Ron but you are just flat wrong for the first part. I'm sorry but internationally we are the most expensive by double to that of the second highest country and we rank 36th internationally in quality, were also the last "world power
' that does not provide health care to its citizens. so ahhhhhh
Some would argue that the high cost is due to the government placing restrictions which remove the free-market effect from healthcare. Others would argue that other countries are cheaper because they ride the coat-tails of US companies who foot the bill for research and development. But not many people would argue that adding more government regulation and intervention to the equation will reduce costs.
We do not have a free market system or near "perfect competition" in Healthcare. The US system is a mixture of government and regulatory induced oligopoly competition (rise of the Managed Care Organization). The Democrats have not been accurate in their assessment. The problem many see is that our base infrastructure will remain the same, but with 40 more million people. How can we mange the capacity when we can not manage our current capacity? How are we going to fund this care? We're broke.
I apoligize for my lingo spelling ! Medicate and South n.j Doctors , are fucked up ! All they do is give everybody narcotics , and controlled substance ! The satastic are 9 pounds per person of dangerous controlled substance ! Pharmicitical drugs are way worse then herion

And as for Ron Paul, genius as usual. This guy is my fuckin' president. Should be the "real" president. WOULD BE THE PRESIDENT if all the big money didn't decide Obama was their man.
doctors don't care bought people they only care bought money, they make no money off healthy people, but they also don't make money off dead people so they keep u in the middle, so they can make all their money.
Unfortunately I can't find the question that you're addressing however I noticed that you bring up how "[his or her] group" is complaining about viruses in vaccines. This brings to mind a fundamental question: do you (or at least that "group") know what a vaccine is? Most vaccines have viruses in them-- that's how they work: they take a virus, change it a bit so it's not lethal, then administer it to patients so that the patient can build their own anti-bodies to the virus.
if we were to have a healthcare system where healthcare will be payed for no matter what, then the healthcare market would then be able to either raise the prices of healthcare as high as they want and still get paid, or they can make it as shitty as they want and still get payed. and if govt puts a reg. on either of these, then doctors will start to drop out of their occupation and others wont want to enter the field due to the lack of advancement opportunities. the competition in the us is
the only thing thats keeping the price of your healthcare down, because as you said, if people dont like it, they can leave and come here for healthcare.
Man, Ron paul is such a great guy, he lives every day like its his last, I applaud that. He reminds me exactly of my grandpa, I wish he was still here, I wish I knew all I knew now, it would of been interesting to talk.
I've been saying exactly what Dr. Paul just said and that is to cut wasteful spending and give people insurance. I am philosophically opposed to taxes, but if we are going to be raked over the coals in taxes at least let us actually benefit from it. We could provide every poor or uninsured person in the nation and still get a tax cut. We can pay to murder people, to lock em up for their drug use but heavens forbid we help anyone.
why would anyone need insurance??? No insurance agent ever fixed my car or my health...
Insurance for anything other than a catastrophic injury or illness is completely unnecessary...and actually is the main cause of the high prices for medical care.
Patient-----Doctor (why does there have to be a Gov't or Corp in between?)
Driving is something you can live without, healthcare isn't. look, why are people ok with murderig people, but not with giving them healthcare? I do consider myself a conservative, but when looking at this realistically, we have been paying for stupid shit too long getting nothing back in return and it's about time we did. We just gave billionaires 800B I think we can give people proper healthcare.
The problem started with medicare and medicaid being created during "the great society."
Times have changed no doubt, but prior to this, a majority of doctor's treated people with no insurance either free of charge or with what they could afford PRIOR to government intervention in HMOs, Medicare, and Medicaid.
I think this is what RP is talking about when he refers to getting government out of the way, but he does a bad job of saying it in his speeches (he did once a few weeks before).
well the gov charges 2000.$ for a toilet. how about we just regulate the insurance companies, make some laws for mandantory pricing, and coverage cost, have some extenuating circumstances, and let it work the way it did. I havent had insurance most of my life. but i go herbal, i survived cancer without any of that .where others with insurance and doctors didnt. so the whole medical industry and all needs to be blue coller, not white . they are all too greedy. ever see a doctor driving a geo?
no, no, no... The gov PAYS $2k for a toilet seat, not charges. Heck, if they charged 2k for a toilet seat we wouldn't have to pay taxes:)
Nevertheless, if we are going to pay taxes we ought to receive something for it. Most of the people crying out against this are people with good insurance.
Should people who work a full time job, but not earning good money be deprived of healthcare while some lazy welfare recipient gets the best coverage money can't buy?
I love Ron Paul... "more love and less war." Why haven't the masses of people who refer to thenmselves as liberals have not heard about this guy yet? If he was in the oval office, rather than the current president, we would not be at war and civil liberties would be reinstated. *sigh* He also wouldn't lie to us about solving nation health issues by promising more government bureaucracy.
He did not look like a douche in Bruno. He took it very well and got out of there. it was not funny... it was like watching your grandmother getting mugged.
Maybe you would be right if America did have an actual free market AND the current issues still existed. Healthcare was affordable before government intervened with such actions as price controls, etc.
Well, America is not Europe and was actually established on a rather diametrically opposed political philosophy than most Europeans Nations at the time. Secondly, why is the Healthcare issue more of an issue nowadays than it has ever been in the past? Maybe you need to investigate the history of US healthcare! It used to be best in the world until the government put its filthy hands on it! And, European are socialists and most of their problems are related to that ideology! We don't want that!
You lie but probably not knowingly. Europe is America (and the U.S.A.) Why do all judges and all lawyers have British Accreditation to 'practice' law in the U.S. because law only applies to those who consent or contract with the crown...which is most of the people in this sad country. Our willful ignorance as a whole will surely be our demise.
Most of what problems? Atheism? Intelligence? Respectable health care? Education?
What problems? America is 90% Christian and dominated by racism and greed.
Look in the mirror. Your Healthcare system may have been respected in the past. But this is not the dinasaur age. America will have to grow up sooner or later.
The racism, war mongering, greed. It can't continue. Sort it out.
First of all, which European country are you talking about to begin with. We ought to be specific in this argument for the US alone is probably 10 times the size of your miniature continent. Secondly, the US is still the richest and most dynamic and innovative country in the world despite all the government and political issue.
Also, you cannot even argument about Racism in Europe and compare it with the US! And I know what I am talking about! Intelligence? In what aspect?
As a socialist European it isn't surprising that you feel that "helping out your fellow man" should be forced upon you by the state. We used to do a little thing called Freedom here where we could choose how and when best to help our fellow man. It's been next to impossible since the govt has gotten its angry mits on every single dollar and industry in the country.
You keep your filthy authoritarianism. We don't want it.
What you have to understand is that not all government is the same. It might work for you in Europe but I don't trust the American government to do it correctly.
Of course. But if that's the case shouldn't you be starting a revolution to clean up your corrupt government?
Rather than campaigning against a health care reform, that's really the last of your worries.
What so many Americans seem to forget, like gwydion below me. Is that not everyones life revolves around greed and money. Most honest people have no problem with helping out their fellow brethren.
And that's why America is in such a state. It's built on greed and selfishness.
Here goes the American hate mongering! First of all, you are clearly an ignorant! The US was founded on Liberties and most US citizens are decent and generous people. Americans household donates more to international causes than all Europeans combined. The issue of religion you stated above is a matter of individual choice and privacy! If you want to be "atheist" that is your choice and you have no right to put a value judgment of that! Europe history is one of blood and systematic genocide!
I hope you are kidding free healthcare is awful, I come from a free/universal healthcare too or whatever you want to call it,
even if you have to pay people prefer to go to private doctors unless its something big like surgery, but then you have to pray that you're not #200 in line.
last time I spoke with a canadian said the private sector is booming there too.
and I too respectfully doubt europe is any different.
But I'm not being forced. I can move to a country like America if I want a libertarian health care system.
I don't want to, because your health care system and country is crap.
Nobody is keeping me in England. But alas, Americans are an overly ignorant breed, and the concept of travel or moving elsewhere is foreign to you. Pun intended.
Once again, your ignorance is so blatant. Libertarian health care system? Get real. The government has had their hand in health care since it's conception.
And yes, you are being forced. You consent.. but those who don't wish to adhere to the system are being forced.
"But alas," your elitism and hypocrisy comes never fails... throwing around generalizations like "Americans are an overly ignorant breed."

Pity most find him unelectable.

thatmafiaguy 2 years ago
There is no way health care will improve with the feds taking it over. Healthcare needs to be returned to the medical doctors solely and eliminate the insurance companies telling doctors how to practice medicine. Along with this tort reform is needed so that doctors are not forced to order unnecessary tests out of fear of being sued. This would help lower the costs. A larger supply of doctors, physician assistants, and nurse practiceoners are needed by allowing more students to enter med school.

Do you really think the drug companies are going to manufacture a disease when the US leads the world on Diabetes and other chronic illnesses which require costly long term care? Would you rather manufacture a single year viral vaccine or an insulin substitute?
christo930 2 years ago
The psychiatric division does that all the time inventing new diseases or disorders that have no reason to exist. Like social anxiety disorder, ADHD and all those other made up crap.
If one is made truly to believe one's got ADHD of social anxiety, they'll be convinced they have it.
Similarly you don't need tons of drugs to cure these disorders cuz firstly they're made up and secondly the best way to overcome it is by the power of your mind.
afthefragile 2 years ago 3
Wow, I thought I was the only one who didn't believe in bullshit like ADD or "Restless Leg Syndrome" and yet everyone argues that these are TRUE disorders, like really? "RLS" just keep your fucking legs still, "ADD" is just a hyperactive child/adult, relax and lay off things that cause hyperactivity.
boredtaco 2 years ago
A while ago i read about some kid who committed some serious crimes (he badly injured some guy and mugged him and did some more shit) and was getting a reduced sentence cuz he was apparently suffering from ADD or ADHD.
It was like are you for real?! Every kid is hyperactive! Its not a disorder or a disease and the court shouldn't be entertaining it being used as an excuse for getting away with crime!!
afthefragile 2 years ago
I like to call restless leg syndrome by one of two other names.
"My legs fell asleep" or "I had too much caffeine before bed". =P
I like to call ADD "too much sugar".
Silvsilvchan 2 years ago
There is a difference between making up a disease that may not exist to sell a cure and deliberately infecting the population with an infectious disease. If you really believe that these people would do this shit, then you aught to be listening to A. Jones rather than R. Paul.

its interesting. He never answered the first question, which was central to the problem. And the third question (@ 3:19), he basically blamed inflation (which may be true), and advocated for government-sponsored healthcare in the interim, paid for by cuts to overseas spending.

electricpunta 2 years ago
Some would argue that the high cost is due to the government placing restrictions which remove the free-market effect from healthcare. Others would argue that other countries are cheaper because they ride the coat-tails of US companies who foot the bill for research and development. But not many people would argue that adding more government regulation and intervention to the equation will reduce costs.
msgirl01 2 years ago
We do not have a free market system or near "perfect competition" in Healthcare. The US system is a mixture of government and regulatory induced oligopoly competition (rise of the Managed Care Organization). The Democrats have not been accurate in their assessment. The problem many see is that our base infrastructure will remain the same, but with 40 more million people. How can we mange the capacity when we can not manage our current capacity? How are we going to fund this care? We're broke.

We can pay to murder people, to lock em up for their drug use but heavens forbid we help anyone.
christo930 2 years ago
why would anyone need insurance??? No insurance agent ever fixed my car or my health...
Insurance for anything other than a catastrophic injury or illness is completely unnecessary...and actually is the main cause of the high prices for medical care.
Patient-----Doctor (why does there have to be a Gov't or Corp in between?)
frzngds 2 years ago 7
Driving is something you can live without, healthcare isn't. look, why are people ok with murderig people, but not with giving them healthcare? I do consider myself a conservative, but when looking at this realistically, we have been paying for stupid shit too long getting nothing back in return and it's about time we did. We just gave billionaires 800B I think we can give people proper healthcare.
christo930 2 years ago
The problem started with medicare and medicaid being created during "the great society."
Times have changed no doubt, but prior to this, a majority of doctor's treated people with no insurance either free of charge or with what they could afford PRIOR to government intervention in HMOs, Medicare, and Medicaid.
I think this is what RP is talking about when he refers to getting government out of the way, but he does a bad job of saying it in his speeches (he did once a few weeks before).
cowboycarl04 2 years ago
well the gov charges 2000.$ for a toilet. how about we just regulate the insurance companies, make some laws for mandantory pricing, and coverage cost, have some extenuating circumstances, and let it work the way it did. I havent had insurance most of my life. but i go herbal, i survived cancer without any of that .where others with insurance and doctors didnt. so the whole medical industry and all needs to be blue coller, not white . they are all too greedy. ever see a doctor driving a geo?
2skullscrushing 2 years ago
no, no, no...

I respectfully disagree with Ron on this issue.
I think 'free'(taxed) healthcare is the correct way forward.
As a European with the above system in place, I, nor anyone that I know, have any qualms with this system.
Infact it's nice to know that you're contributing and helping out your fellow men.
This is one of the instances where I think America is too caught up in the whole open market, libertarian-esque position, Ron included.
z0mgrugbyreturns 2 years ago
Maybe you would be right if America did have an actual free market AND the current issues still existed. Healthcare was affordable before government intervened with such actions as price controls, etc.
iheartdd4eva 2 years ago 7

I intend to Afrik. Like I said, it's just my opinion. The comment system is a platform for debate.
If you disagree we can always have a civilised discussion on which health care systems work best.
Your response is a bit immature and pointless to say the least. I'm guess you're limited in your understanding of English.
z0mgrugbyreturns 2 years ago
Well, America is not Europe and was actually established on a rather diametrically opposed political philosophy than most Europeans Nations at the time. Secondly, why is the Healthcare issue more of an issue nowadays than it has ever been in the past? Maybe you need to investigate the history of US healthcare! It used to be best in the world until the government put its filthy hands on it! And, European are socialists and most of their problems are related to that ideology! We don't want that!
AFRIKTODAY 2 years ago 6
You lie but probably not knowingly. Europe is America (and the U.S.A.) Why do all judges and all lawyers have British Accreditation to 'practice' law in the U.S. because law only applies to those who consent or contract with the crown...which is most of the people in this sad country. Our willful ignorance as a whole will surely be our demise.
milliradian 2 years ago
Most of what problems? Atheism? Intelligence? Respectable health care? Education?
What problems? America is 90% Christian and dominated by racism and greed.
Look in the mirror. Your Healthcare system may have been respected in the past. But this is not the dinasaur age. America will have to grow up sooner or later.
The racism, war mongering, greed. It can't continue. Sort it out.
z0mgrugbyreturns 2 years ago
First of all, which European country are you talking about to begin with. We ought to be specific in this argument for the US alone is probably 10 times the size of your miniature continent. Secondly, the US is still the richest and most dynamic and innovative country in the world despite all the government and political issue.
Also, you cannot even argument about Racism in Europe and compare it with the US! And I know what I am talking about! Intelligence? In what aspect?
AFRIKTODAY 2 years ago
As a socialist European it isn't surprising that you feel that "helping out your fellow man" should be forced upon you by the state. We used to do a little thing called Freedom here where we could choose how and when best to help our fellow man. It's been next to impossible since the govt has gotten its angry mits on every single dollar and industry in the country.
You keep your filthy authoritarianism. We don't want it.
gwydion75 2 years ago 5

z0mgrugbyreturns 2 years ago
What you have to understand is that not all government is the same. It might work for you in Europe but I don't trust the American government to do it correctly.
mrMISDEMEANOR 2 years ago
It's built on greed and selfishness.
z0mgrugbyreturns 2 years ago
Here goes the American hate mongering! First of all, you are clearly an ignorant! The US was founded on Liberties and most US citizens are decent and generous people. Americans household donates more to international causes than all Europeans combined. The issue of religion you stated above is a matter of individual choice and privacy! If you want to be "atheist" that is your choice and you have no right to put a value judgment of that! Europe history is one of blood and systematic genocide!
AFRIKTODAY 2 years ago
The US was founded by religious fanatics.
But you are right. European history is that of blood and system genocide. You know what that bares an amazing reflection to? The American PRESENT.
Decent and generous people. Don't make me laugh. You're a nation of war mongerers. That's why Ron Paul has failed to become president.
And your charity propoganda is just that. Fed to you by your arrogant media and government. Don't preach to me about charity.

I hope you are kidding free healthcare is awful, I come from a free/universal healthcare too or whatever you want to call it,
even if you have to pay people prefer to go to private doctors unless its something big like surgery, but then you have to pray that you're not #200 in line.
last time I spoke with a canadian said the private sector is booming there too.
and I too respectfully doubt europe is any different.
terahybrid 2 years ago
It's awful to who? You, who can afford to piss away your money on private healthcare? Sure, I can buy that.
To those without money to spare is it awful? No.
It saves billions of lifes. Americas health care systems allows millions to needlessly die.
Are you sure you want to compare the two?
z0mgrugbyreturns 2 years ago
Quite the opposite.
ApolloD7 2 years ago
But it isn't quite the opposite, is it.
Who dies with your health care system? The poor.
It's an elitist system. Typically American.
z0mgrugbyreturns 2 years ago
Do some reading on positive/negative rights. Maybe read some Hayek or Bastiat. I wouldn't call individual responsibility "elitist".
I'd call forcing and coercing people to adhere to a system in which they don't agree with elitist...
AKA, you.
ApolloD7 2 years ago 3
But I'm not being forced. I can move to a country like America if I want a libertarian health care system.
I don't want to, because your health care system and country is crap.
Nobody is keeping me in England. But alas, Americans are an overly ignorant breed, and the concept of travel or moving elsewhere is foreign to you. Pun intended.
z0mgrugbyreturns 2 years ago
Once again, your ignorance is so blatant. Libertarian health care system? Get real. The government has had their hand in health care since it's conception.
And yes, you are being forced. You consent.. but those who don't wish to adhere to the system are being forced.
"But alas," your elitism and hypocrisy comes never fails... throwing around generalizations like "Americans are an overly ignorant breed."
ApolloD7 2 years ago 2
Who is being forced. Is anyone being forced to stay in Europe?
If someone does not like the system here they can move. You know, kind of like how your founders did? Ironically.
Like I said, I'm sure the concept of leaving your state, let alone your country, is a foreign one to most Americans.
