well, i think this scene is quite informative, it adds up to Mike's foot fetish thing. and there's yet another deleted scene (can't find it here, but IMDB claims there is one) where Mike is masturbating in his flipped over car after killing first lot of girls.

both scenes make sense, as everything Tarantino does. why he decided to throw them away escapes me.

He most likely threw them out in order to let the audience assume the obvious.

If this scene had of been in the final version it would of put too much tension between the characters.

In the "Woods are lovely dark and..." scene it shows that Mike can get angry real quick, but it doesn't show anything from the girls. It seems better this way, thus proving the girls are a little scared of him, but still unaware of his mentality.
