If you understand Russian, then you would have realised that the letters that the Cyrillic letters they used may spell out an english word, but sound totally different!!!

For example the backwards R they used is pronounced 'yah' in Russian. And Roman would look like this if spelled out in Russian: POMAH, but then no one would understand it.
