What "rule" does she suggest they "update" to prevent underage girls from attending and getting access to illegal drugs?

I just wanna say I'm a 15 year old girl who can't wait to go to EDC. but I'm not gonna be a stupid dumbass & sneak in & take drugs because I know if anything happened, the majority of the people involved in the rave scene would hold a bigass grudge on me. With all due respect, the Sasha girl took the pills herself. It was HER choice. EDC had absolutely nothing to do with it. However I also believe that it does not matter your age, but your maturity. You could be 24 & as mature as a 10 year old.

I don't understand why some people defend Sasha. Yes, it is a shame that she passed away so young but no one forced her to take the pills. May I remind you she is the reason why there is an age limit? Why EDC moved all the way to vegas? Where there is bandwagon galore. I wish the scene would go back to the way it was before. I liked the ending shot where you show 185000 in attendance and the "one death", but I think the focus should have been that the EDC was not responsible for the death...I mean...it's not like EDC is handing out X at the gate...The girl put the pill in her own mouth...no one "Made" her take it...I'm an old guy, but I spent my fair share of days at concerts and remember one in particular with Oingo Boingo where a girl was trampled to death at the Palladium in LA and she was as stoned all heck!

Heres the problem, people who are under 18 going to these raves. They don't know the extent of what their body can take under ecstasy, and plus they tend to make stupid decisions like the LA Coliseum in 2010. when my father was in the rave scene, in the early 90s, dancesafe was a REAL organization that would actually test your drugs b4 you entered the event. they weren't saying "its ok to do drugs," they were saying "be smart about it". i mean lets face it, no matter how illegal drugs are gonna be, ppl are still going to do them. so why not teach ppl to be smart about what they're putting into thier bodies? i think this organization should be brought back.

Hope the documentary addresses the good side of MDMA, like the fact the the first clinical trial of giving MDMA to PSTD patients was just completed with incredible results. it will probably be a prescription medication in the next ten years. other studies are currently underway giving MDMA to PTSD patients as well as those who are experiencing anxiety due to end of life anxiety. MDMA is a wonderful drug that started in therapy and has a lot of potential.

On the other side of the country, multiple people die at Bonnaroo every year...They are not being scrutinized by the local government or media. Anytime there is a great possible movement- peace movement of the 60s, black panthers of the 70s, and even a musical movement today- if drugs somehow get involved, it almost always messes up so much potential (tes, there are a few exceptions but mostly more harm is done than good)

Thousands of ravers/EDC fans have watched this trailer and very few of them have expressed that this film will reflect poorly on the scene. With that said, I want folks who may not support/be involved in the scene to learn about what happened, and it's unlikely they'll be interested unless you bring up the controversial aspects of the story.

its all because she was underage. 1 death is common at cali massives, sometimes 2 deaths..but usually they are older people. 2 just died at the annual bonaroo festival in TN recently. Yet where is the outrage over bonaroo? Coachella has only had one death that im aware of. Nocturnal 2001@ lake havasu had like 4 deaths lmao. but 2 or 3 of them happened after the event, down the road

Of course times have changed and they have more at stake now so they're trying to dissociate their company from this word. But the important part is that the people who pay money to go to EDC year after year, they all identify as ravers, and almost everyone I interviewed for this film considers EDC a rave. You may not agree with that, but it is what it is.

LA needs to lighten up. There was a rave here in Vancouver (Canada) about 5-8 years ago where 5-10 people DIED and it was only a 5000 capacity venue! Hell, someone died at the Smashing Pumpkins concert here too! Sucks for LA because I am sure they need the economic boost.

@Turkiloo What you're referring to (water intoxication) is actually called hyponatremia. And as far as the cause of death goes, the official autopsy report concluded that it was from lack of oxygen to the brain and from MDMA intoxication. I haven't come across any sources otherwise to prove whether water intoxication was a factor or not. If you have any info, send it my way!

With all due respect, the Sasha girl took the pills herself. It was HER choice. EDC had absolutely nothing to do with it. However I also believe that it does not matter your age, but your maturity. I don't understand why some people defend Sasha. Yes, it is a shame that she passed away so young but no one forced her to take the pills. May I remind you she is the reason why there is an age limit? Why EDC moved all the way to vegas? Where there is bandwagon galore. I wish the scene would go back to the way it was before. The only reason why they made a big deal out of Sasha's death was because her father works for the City council. Kids still find a way in, it's not that hard to get an id.

I liked the ending shot where you show 185000 in attendance and the "one death", but I think the focus should have been that the EDC was not responsible for the death...I mean...it's not like EDC is handing out X at the gate...The girl put the pill in her own mouth...no one "Made" her take it...I'm an old guy, but I spent my fair share of days at concerts and remember one in particular with Oingo Boingo where a girl was trampled to death at the Palladium in LA and she was as stoned all heck!

Heres the problem, people who are under 18 going to these raves. They don't know the extent of what their body can take under ecstasy, and plus they tend to make stupid decisions like the LA Coliseum in 2010. Glad EDC is 18 and over and in Vegas! no major tragedies plus a better place to party. I do believe EDC will come back to LA someday but not soon. EDC 2012 here we go again! RIP Sasha, sucks that no one was their to really look after you. Remember ppl, take care of yourselves and others.

when my father was in the rave scene, in the early 90s, dancesafe was a REAL organization that would actually test your drugs b4 you entered the event. they weren't saying "its ok to do drugs," they were saying "be smart about it". i mean lets face it, no matter how illegal drugs are gonna be, ppl are still going to do them. so why not teach ppl to be smart about what they're putting into thier bodies? i think this organization should be brought back.

Hope the documentary addresses the good side of MDMA, like the fact the the first clinical trial of giving MDMA to PSTD patients was just completed with incredible results. it will probably be a prescription medication in the next ten years. other studies are currently underway giving MDMA to PTSD patients as well as those who are experiencing anxiety due to end of life anxiety. MDMA is a wonderful drug that started in therapy and has a lot of potential.

Yet where is the outrage over bonaroo? Coachella has only had one death that im aware of. @Jerictron5000 No this film is not complete yet. It won't be done for at least a few more months. But my story focuses on EDC 2010 and Los Angeles culture & politics. It will not go into Vegas. Whatever happens at EDC this year might affect how I market my film, but it won't really change the content of my story too much.

okay everything has gone out of proportion! to have one person day out of 185,000 ain't bad if u ask me but it is still a tragic story to hear but i do not think they should stop all raves/parties/music festivals w.e u wanna call them at the sports arena or coliseum. it sucks that they have to tell u not to take drugs or even to take drinks from people u should know this if u go to ANY party!! we all know the consequences of E i hope LA raves/parties return to the arena and coliseum :/

First of all . stop calling this a fucking RAVE!never in there entire life has insomniac promoted any of there events to be a RAVE . raves are illegal &underground ... EDC in Mainstream & open to public .so please EVERYONE, stop with thinking your going to a rave ..when its actually a Electronic Music Festival ..

@Hi4ofUs31 Actually I have a video that Insomniac produced on EDC 2000 and back then, they called this event a rave. Of course times have changed and they have more at stake now so they're trying to dissociate their company from this word. But the important part is that the people who pay money to go to EDC year after year, they all identify as ravers, and almost everyone I interviewed for this film considers EDC a rave. You may not agree with that, but it is what it is.

LA needs to lighten up. There was a rave here in Vancouver (Canada) about 5-8 years ago where 5-10 people DIED and it was only a 5000 capacity venue! Hell, someone died at the Smashing Pumpkins concert here too! Sucks for LA because I am sure they need the economic boost.

Actually that girl didn't even die of a overdose she died of homophebia which is when you drink to much water to fast! Basically her stomach was filled to the max with water and she died because it busted the news needs to get their facts straight

@Turkiloo What you're referring to (water intoxication) is actually called hyponatremia. And as far as the cause of death goes, the official autopsy report concluded that it was from lack of oxygen to the brain and from MDMA intoxication. I haven't come across any sources otherwise to prove whether water intoxication was a factor or not. If you have any info, send it my way!
