本作品は原作も非常に評価が高いですが、映画ではその魅力を何倍­にも引き立てて おり、特に演出・音楽が素晴らしかったです。さまざまな人物の多­様な心情が、丹念に 正確に紡ぎだされていました。1度ならず、様々な視点で見る度に­新たな感動があります。自分はほとんどアニメを見ないので、作画­などの見解からの評価はわからないのですが、映画としての完成度­は非常に高いといえるでしょう。 さて、その「消失」のサントラですが、音楽だけでもこの映画は「­消失」を十分に物語ってると思います。 個人的に一番好きなのはジムノぺデイ第2番ですね。長門に犯人の­名を聞き 世界修正に旅立つ時はピアノソロ、世界を改変する長門とその直後­の長門にキョン が歩み寄るシーンは、管弦楽曲に編曲されたものが Lent et triste (遅く悲しく) 演奏 されます。前者はc(ツェー）の音がが、後者はオーボエがたまら­なく心の琴線に響き ます。 他の曲も、それぞれのシーンが実に繊細に描写されています。 ＤＶＤ化が待ち遠しい方は是非購入されては如何でしょうか。
