  • Is not common for women to be interested in playing instruments professionally, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Why would you think girls can’t play music? Is not like is rocket science, it’s like saying straight men can’t dance.

If you are talking about the “out of synch”… everybody knows that when you upload a video from VHS it can get our synch.

  • Granted this vid is a slight outta sync

  • Like most guys, I'm mad about Susanna, but seeing this video I gotta say- damn, Vicki is a fox!

  • Got to see the Bangles live in Massachusetts in 1986

  • Got to see the Bangles on Youtube today !

  • got to see the bangles in Germany in 86

  • They're concerts were definitly defined and they really expressed themselves. They seem so at home on stage. I think this is what brought them back together.

  • The Bangles always were garage band rockers until Columbia Records got hold of them. From the way Columbia marketed them, they should have changed their name to Sexanna and the 3 Shadows. What you see here is the way the band really sounded.

  • I should add that if you want to see another rockin' video of them, look up 'Want You' and 'I'm Not Talking.'

  • This is probably one of my top 3 favorite Bangles songs. I loved the hard garage edge of some of their earlier songs. Love the lyrics, too. Basically saying "either respect me and stop looking at other girls, or take a hike, bucko."

  • I agree with you the hard garage pop and the way Vicki sings about the guy she loves checking out other girls she has always wrote about complicated love which is one of the reasons I love her songs.

  • Great song this was live at Syria Mosque in 1986 great concert wish I was old enough to gone to concerts back than

  • Sooo much hairspray. No wonder there's so global warming - the Bangles depleted the ozone layer

  • that's Vicki

  • I want to go back to 1986 ..these groups were great

  • The full show is here in youtube. Search for it by the name of the songs. Someone named goldfalcon (or something like it) posted a lot of songs from this show.

  • I saw this tour and I can clearly remember that this was a highlight of the show as Debbie stole the spotlight from Susannah for a while. Thanks for posting. It's so nice to know that they are still around and putting on good shows like this one from back in the day. Thank God for YOUTUBE!!!

  • OMG!!! I've been searching for this full concert forever. Use to have it on tape til the tape got ruined. Is this full show on here?

  • I have this whole concert on VHS tape but the video & sound quality is a little rough because I watched it so many times back in the day, that I almost wore it out. What can I say, I was in love with susanna.

  • Yea, we did that with our copy too. But the final straw in it was someone spilled their drink on the tape when it got left out one day and it was shot after that. :(

  • I have it on Beta somewhere. LOL. Taped it off of MTV. Would love to have "Let it Go" and "Return Post". Those were unbelievable.

  • I would love to see this full show again. I have great memories of watching it time and time again.

  • OMG!!BEAUTIFUL!!AWESOME!!I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG!! your upload almost made me cry.. thank youuuuuu!!!!!!!

  • pleasure

i always loved the vicki songs

  • Too bad the record company duped the public into thinking Suzannah was the driving force of the band. She would only sing/write 3 or 4 songs but all of them would be released as videos.

  • Yes Susannah was the "pretty face" at the front and the record company pushed it, which I think is the reason why they split in the first place. Get hold of their first album, Debbi and Vicki are v underrated IMO.

  • By the first album do you mean All over The Place? They did have an EP prior to that with great tunes such as "How is the Air Up There?" and "Mary Street". Fantastic! I think I saw them live about 7 times from '86 to '88.

  • Is vicki sexy or what?

  • Of all of them I thin Vicky liked to be in the shadow but always had that rocking spirit that made her so believeable when she performs.

  • Comment removed

  • They may have bad

hair, but that video made me very happy.

  • They all look terrible. Who dressed these women?

  • it was the 80's. anyone who tried to look hip ended up looking like they got dressed in the datk. i was pretty much a jeans/t-shirt/dress shirt person and i because i didn't go for the trendy look (like parachute pants) my photos from that time aren't so embarrassing that i wanna crawl under a rock :)

  • Nice clip and the girls look terrific. Wish there were more closeups of Michael, she looks amazing.

  • I still lust for that woman. She's not only gorgeous and with amazing musical talents, but she's one of the smartest rockers/popsters ever. Love her.

  • Exepcional muito bom, as garotas mais lindas do mundo... ILOVE BANGLES I LOVE MICHAEL STEELE.

  • From their lp 'All over the place' .. EXCELLENT ALBUM !!

  • It is hard for me as a guitar player to believe that they played a single tone of the music on this video.

  • as a guitar player.... it's easy for me.

    what the?

  • Really? Then tell me why you always see them playing the same chord as if it was a punk rock song.

Also why are they freaking out during the solo instead of showing what they play like any guitar solo player would do? That video is trash, man.

  • there are no rules for playin a solo. the song rocks!!!!

  • Okay, I have actually just noticed that there is a synchronisation mistake in this video, which made it appear to me that they were not performing the song live with their instruments. So they really are. SORRY TO ALL BANGLES FANS!!!

  • @ini32 Dude, I've seen this band Live Oh, I don't know a million times, even at street fairs, there was no back up band at the bottom of the stage. Seen them play up close and was able to watch thier hands. Yup, it's them playing!! I don't know what kind of musician you are, but clearly you don't know what your talking about! Also to your earlier comment, there are many ways to play chords and do leads on the neck! Oh, and as a musician myself, you are wrong! Good Day!

  • You're wrong on the chord thing. Vickie's--in parts--doing something like a major/minor/or minor 7th chord w/bass on 6th string, then changes in the same fret with a 4th chord based on 5th string--bass on 5, a Minor 7 . Ex: A minor to Dm7. On verses if you watch Susanna she's moving around with licks like partial chords--or chords only on the first 3 strings while Vickie plays the full chords as straight rhythm. The lead; what's seen=cameraman's choice. Freaking out? It's called showmanship.

  • Its called Lack Of anything better to do, to sound clever

  • @ini32 explain,....you think they did or did not play their own instruments??????????I've been playing 26 yrs and have met them,...was there a band behind the curtain???

  • @BeccaGSD Hell, I really don't know. I wasn't there. It looks to me that they obviously do know how to play their instruments, but whether they actually use this knowledge in their performance is certainly another question. But many pop acts have been using playback as an essential part of their performances. I think the Bangles laid more emphasis on being a pop band than a rock band. It might have been that the vox were live, for the most part, whereas the instruments came from a studio tape.

  • such an underrated, underrated band...

  • Well Susanna must be nice since she is a Capricornian, Belinda is a Leo so she is nice too. They were both born in the year of the Dog wich makes them really nice. It is an Yellow Earth year so they are good persons.

  • I saw this concert 20 years ago on MTV. It's great! I think it's one of the best things The Bangles ever did. Hopefully someday we'll be able to see the whole performance here.

  • The hair!!! lol

    Great band

  • Love this song, I have the full length concert of this on video. The quality is not fantastic but watchable. Met them two days in a row in 2003. Fantastic live show too.

  • Love this song. Played it in High School with some teachers and a couple of other students. This is the closest I'll ever get to seeing 'em live with Micki. Thank you for posting this!

And by the way, for those who don't know, the only similarity The Bangles and frickin' Go Go's share is their genders. End of story.

  • God, Debbie, Michael, and Susanna have such big hair in this video, I love it.

  • FYI...Vicki filled in for Charlotte for the Return To The Valley Of The Gogos tour when Char was very pregnant and unable to tour.

  • Chill out on the Vicki comments... She was(still is) in an awesome band and you're not...

  • wow it must of took all of ur brain cells to figure out that im not a awesome band like vicki...

  • ya vick is an ausome singer and gutarest

  • why do people have to compare women musicians?? I don't get it.

I have actually worked with Charlotte and she's great and i'm a fan too!

I wish i could say i have worked with Vicky too. Totally different talents.

what's yr point? if Charlottes better....why comment on a video with Vicky in it?

  • well i saw both the Gogos and Bangles live so i have reference to compare the two. I am not dissing Vicki as she is a good guitarist too but cannot hold a candle to Charlotte. That is all.

  • Just be glad i didn't compare which lead singer is hotter between Belinda and Susanna, which we all know who win that contest ;)

  • I met Susanna and she was sweet, I also met Carlisle and she was a rude skank, end of story!

  • its very possible you never met either one of them and just saying crap to make susanna sound better. carlisle is one of the nicest person anyone could met according to her publicist.

  • the gogo's are better song writers and u know it....and singers.

  • both the go-go's and the bangles were good songwriters and singers. u d... ediot.

  • every song on the gogo's debut were hits but u cant say the same for the bangals debut lol OWNED!

  • I love this song. From their "All Over the Place" album. Before they got 'famous'. Nice that they left a gem like this in their set after they got big...

  • charlotte of the gogo's is a better lead guitarist then vicky....agree?

  • I saw the Bangles live around the time of this clip, and of the hundreds of concerts I've been to I remember it as being in the top ten best. They were a great live band

  • I love Vicky's voice...it's interesting.

  • this girl cant sing...let susannah sing cuz she can lol

  • Woo! The Bangles rock!
