  • Who is the performer and teacher? The performer, teacher, and music are important. People are so hung up on religion, and try to inflict it upon Alain's music. Meanwhile, he wrote a piano piece about Japanese gods, and an organ piece about a Hindu god. The joke is on the "believers." LOL

  • Really Great!!! Incredible teacher/student team~!

  • Great energy, luminous intelligence and lively choice of deliveries.

  • Very nice choice of registration!

  • Agreed. Music is meant to be performed, period. It doesn't matter who the performer is, as long as the performance is to the glory of God.

  • OK, it is appropriate that this wonderful piece, in memory of Jehan Alain (1911-1940), killed in action near Saumur, France, should be played in an American church by an American student born fifty years later.

Music is more than the sum of its parts.

  • auchraw, is that something you'd say to a German organist, say someone like Felix Hell? We all need to make sure that this doesn't become some forum for politics and such. Strictly we like to comment on the wonderful music that is found on this venue. Pianorgano is a rare talent, with technique and skill beyond most organists much older and more experienced.

  • OK let me try again. I would certainly say this to a German organist. My comment has nothing to do with politics; this is your own knee-jerk response. It has to do with the value of talent. This piece was inspired by the sacrifice of his life and talents made by Jehan Alain in 1940, the most promising young organist of his generation. I find it quite moving and very appropriate that it should be played by this talented youngster two generations later.

    Is this better?

  • Sorry ! It is all misunderstanding. Hope you don't mind and continue enjoy the music.

  • auchraw, I owe you an apology. I misconstrued what you were saying.

You are right about Jehan Alain.

  • Sorry ! It was all misunderstanding.

  • seriously..?

  • Great to see more of your work!

    Thanks.

  • Wonderful. I hope you post the July 15 recital.

  • Great Stuff!

  • You are extraordinarily good! Thanks, very thanks!

  • Ciao Ugo! Tosto il ragazzino eh?... Promette bene... ;-)

A volte lo chiamo con l'appellativo "my dear little genius!" :-)

    Ugo
