The game will be downloadable for free. Nadeo wil reveal TrackMania 2 to the Gamers Assembly, the beta-test will start to mid-june/july.

I hope the game will be released out before the end of the year...

what i like about nadeo is, that they Definately take their time doing something. Buying the game took me 2-3 weeks. However. once they are done. They have made worlds most popular racing game to date.

@lolakas93 That's not how things work. If people stop buying it then they get less money. If they release it while people buy it (not many people do anyway) then they get more people giving their money for both games. That's like when the DS came out. Did people quit buying GBAs? No. If they made TMUF maybe a week ago, then yeah it'd be a bad decision.

I cant wait too see what track creators come up with...there is going to be more then just custom cars, I'm talking custom modeled tracks and scenery!

the great thing is, TM supports the .max file format so we'll be able to go straight from 3dsMax to the track editor!

this all on top of the new TM scripting language for even crazier LOL tracks :P

I think it's a render vid, because of the reflections in the car surface. you need raytraycing to create this effect. and there is still no realtime raytraycing hardware yet. But it is amazing.

Need for Speed Underground 2 comes to mind. that had excellent reflections for its time and that was 6 years ago. I'm pretty sure it's just real-time cube-mapping. not physically accurate but close enough for car reflections

personally, i think there is little that can be done to make the trackmania series any greater than it already is. I honestly think that Trackmania United is absolutely the best racing game of all time. I'm looking forward to trackmania 2, that's for sure, but i think of it being purely a graphical upgrade from TMU. Perhaps the gravity and physical effects will be improved, which is also a plus. What i'm interested it in: new fun track pieces and the option to play with car collisions.

See, this jsut shows my problem with current gaming - many developers focus on simply graphics. While this game has the BEST graphics I have EVER seen, the gameplay looks distinctly...meh. There's no real uniqueness, apart from the one jump about half way through.

My opinion, by the way. You are entitled to yours.
