easy to refute Brian Wilson's less than reliable claim that this is his first compisition.Consider his band "the pendletons" audition for coplix. they perform no original songs and the label considers passing on them unless they can come up with something "new" at which point Dennis mentions the "surfing craze" which gets Hys attention and he asks Brian if they have any songs written except the half finished "Surfin" which he goes home and proceeds to finish it
