  • After all these years, I have come to watch this video a second time, and it is still the worst thing anyone has ever produced............ ever. Retarded.

  • @mrtiffany2 Mmmm, try watching the Purple Bottle video.

  • You can just feel and hear how this album influenced Incubus's recent albums such as 'A Crow Left of the Murder' (2004).

    Guitar @ 0:18 sound familiar? ;)

    Both fantastic bands.

  • Excellent job, enjoyed it! and how much does this song ROCK?! awesome :-)

  • From start to finish, Ten was maybe a wee bit better. This album is still one of the top five from that time period though. Utterly fantastic from start to finish. some of the songwriting is amongst the best I've ever heard.

Good video BTW, your interpretation is unique. The beauty of this music is that it means something different to everyone

  • Interesting. I did see it as an interpretation as well - and very, very different to my personal interpretation of this song! So it was cool to see this.

  • Even though the description says it is not an interpretation, I think it hits it right on the head.

  • Live kicks ass! Great song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great song, White, Discussion is my favorite off the album but this is a great one

  • I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Throwing Copper was the best rock album on the 90s.

  • Bold comment. But as I think about it, there certainly aren't many-if any- albums from that time that warranted as many repeat listens for me as Throwing Copper. If not the best, it would have to be on a pretty short list.

  • no way anything pearl jam put out was way better than this album

  • @CaribDevist Very good album but not as good as their first, but not far from it. Ok Computer is the best album of the nineties for sure.

  • @CaribDevist second best Metal jewelry was the best.

  • This is a great tune and I appreciate the originality of the video. I know everyone has different interpretations of song lyrics and their meaning, but come on. How can anyone sit back and listen to this tune and garner the meaning of drug use? This song has religion written all over it and I'm watching a video with some dude ODing cause he got canned from his job? Was the dude a preacher or an office temp?

If you are going to make drug use a theme, how about making it for a tune like Junkhead

  • I sort of see it like this. Maybe it is a short film that just happens to be about 4 minutes long and the song is part of the soundtrack for the film...maybe?

  • I appreciate the thoughts. However, please see the video description, copied as follows: "This is our video to Live's 'T.B.D.' off the Throwing Copper album. It's not meant to be an interpretation of the song, really, but we felt like the song conveyed an effective mood for a video. Hope you like it."

So, like Rick said, we intended to use it more as a soundtrack for a particular mood, than as any kind of direct interpretation.

  • Class song, pure class ....

  • your house is too nice to be that of a drug user. especially one that has OD'd. You would have sold off all that stuff long ago...

still a decent video. great song.

  • LMAO!!!!!!!! SOOOO true!!!!!

  • Actually we were going for a guy that had the addiction and had practically kicked it. He was doing well at work and was suddenly let go. Unfortunately he ended up doing more than he should have. As much as he once did to be sure...but it having been long enough for him to "sort of" get his life back on track, it was too much and that sometimes happens.

  • if you meet rich people, you realize that many of them have serious issues. i would say that rich people use drugs in the same proportion as the rest of the population, just different drugs(ie coke, heroin)

  • it would be cool to have the video of you speaking while having iv of lsd flowing through you, that is what the song is about

  • Great song.

  • we all watched this for the same reason: your video is called 'TBD Live', a great song by a great band. If your video was called 'Fat Guy in Bad Lighting' we all may have avoided it.

  • That's better! Look- I don't really care if you don't like the video. It doesn't take away the fun we had putting it together. I just appreciate when I can get a more constructive or clever opinion than 'gay' or 'retarded'. I pay you tribute by updating my search tags. Still, like the vast majority of YouTube posters, we are neither supermodels nor professional filmmakers. If you were expecting more given the title and description of the video- um... sorry, I guess.

  • HAHAHA...that is F'n funny, thanks for the laugh, needed it.

  • Why even bother making this (or watching it for that matter)? You owe me the 4 minutes and 40 seconds I just wasted and will never get back. Actually, make it 4 minutes- I do like it when druggies die.

  • Why bother making? because it's fun. I encourage everyone to try making and editing any kind of video. It's just a neat process. Why bother watching? You tell me- I didn't force you.

  • i love this song so much and now its ruined by your awful, awful work.

  • Well, I'll give you credit for at least coming up with something better than 'gay' this time.

  • everything that you do is gay.

  • gay

  • The video is neither bright and pleasant nor homosexual, so I can only surmise that you've used my comment area to announce a revelation about your own sexual identity. Congratulations, and keep reaching for that rainbow.

  • show us that you do better...

  • yeah it is, i'm in class for stuff like this right now.. not by choice. i have to take Visual communications before i can get to digital entertainment and game design. So i'm enjoying watching wut others are doing :). Plus the song is my favorite :)

  • Cool. Game design is becoming more and more of a storytelling medium, so visual communications is probably a good pre-requisite. Stuff like Bioshock, GTA IV, and all kinds of other good stuff just continue to raise the bar. Good luck!

  • Thanks! No school for editing- just a camera, a computer, and some spare time figuring out how to use the software. It's all pretty accessible these days.

  • This song is the SHIT. seriously folks it's awesome. And you did a great job on the editing process of this video man, i may not agree with the usage of that stuff, have lost friends to it, but good interpretation and awesome job again. Did you go to school for this or is it just something you do in your spare time for fun?

  • My, that was constructive. I realize the internet is full of incredibly creative and intellectual critics like yourself whose superiority complexes and brilliantly analytical words such as "retarded" finally have an audience. But for all the big talk, I see your creative output on this medium is exactly zero. I'm not claiming to have made Citizen Kane, but I'm proud to have completed this small project with the limited time and resources we had available.

  • Just plain awful. The people are so awful looking, the acting and setup are so painfully drab and contrived. Oh, I guess he is losing his job, oh, and his wife his leaving because of that, time to do some drugs kids. Retarded.

  • Don't sweat it Mr. Tiffany, I got your back. Listen up Movie God, I am sick of people on the internet being so damn mean to the "mentally disabled" Maybe you should try a little tact you ass. At least Mr. Tiffany can sign an internet post honestly and with some integrity. Just look at it...how brave it is to sign off like that and say it so proudly. Yes Mr. Tiffany you may be retarded, but we don't mind. You just keep on keepin on. This world is blessed to have you in it........warm fuzzy

  • 1. You're assuming I am angry because I stand up for myself in a debate

    2. You can't spell "you"

    3. You retorted to something I posted a month ago.

    Go away

  • And you need to take care when using words like "you don'tknow what you're talking about" - you know fuck all about me and what I know so don't judge others just because you're hidden away behind your PC/Mac monitor. I don't give facts unless I know they are facts.

  • relax vertiis, this all started because u assumed the creators of this video were trying to reproduce Live's meaning of the song, which they clearly stated was not the case in their description. get off your high horse.

  • I gather the blue shirt is coincidence and I didn't mean to sound like some argumentitive nerd on here however I was commenting on th song's real meaning and the use of your protagianist using heroin... If your film was nothing to do with the song then fair enough.

  • Sorry. No offense intended. It's tough to sort out the argumentative nerds from the casual conversationalists on this fine internet of ours. Thanks for the comment, anyway!

  • Your comment would lead people to believe that you know what the song is about. You need to be careful when using phrases like "real meaning" and "nothing to do with the song".

  • You have someone taking heroin in a blue shirt? Dom you know that this song is about a monk wanting to die while being intreveniously fed LSD?

  • Blue Shirt = Coincidence. As noted in the video information, this is not intended to be an interepretation of what the song is about. We just like the songs mood for what we were doing.

  • No it isn't. The Tibeten Book of the Dead is intended to be read to someone on their deathbed. This would be comprable to last rights if your Catholic. Leary and friends came up with a shorter version intended to be used in conjunction with LSD. Huxley would have advocated a number of other chemicals. Peyote, DMT, mescaline, just to name a few. To be blunt the song is not truly illicit and much like the video is open to quite alot of artisitic interpretation. NOT a monk wanting to die!

  • that was really well done. thanks for posting it. song is fantastic too.

  • great vid, really well done, and you know the song it total awsomeness

  • unbef'nbelievable song

  • Nice work! Great song, great vid.

  • just wanted to hear the song too... great lyrics... brings back good memmories.... thanx

  • this is a great video

  • ...wow...really good. the best thing that i like is that is so realistic. the OD looked real too! it fits very well to to song also, i really like it. good job!

  • This was excellent I must say. I do not know who makes the song. Never heard it before either. However, if they did not have a video for it this should be it. Nice.

  • song is by Live, album is Throwing Copper, like '95 i think

  • just wanted to hear the song, this was only one i found......great vid

  • nothing short of an A+ on the video and the song is awesome

  • Dude, good job, Glad I watched the whole thing!

  • Sweet vid... 'this is how I go out tonight'... well done.
