I'm starting our drumming (got a cheapo TD-3) and after watching this video I have just 1 questions. How tight do you have to grab those sticks for them to not go flying across the room.

I find when I start playing as hard as I can eventually I'll loose grip and then my sticks just bounced off a cymbal and it's gone.

Any tips?

Hmmm, I don't think I have any tips really. Sometimes when I'm really playing hard, I'm still only gripping the sticks with a few fingers. Don't worry about it, eventually it just won't happen. It's one of those things where you'll just get used to it eventually. Good luck
