  • Dude, does the free sample show the whole book or just some of it?

  • @SeaBananaGames1 Around 30 pages

  • Do you like this because I am thinking about asking for one for my birthday

  • @bakinglover1 Yes I like it a lot actually

  • lol the authors on the screen saver was creepy so i changer it to nature but antways thanks great video i got one ysterday for my birthday

  • @buttnugget29 haha no prob, thanks for watching =P

  • IF Your a NY Times Lover you can get a 1 year subscription to the nook NY TIMES and you can get the Nook FREE from BN(some restrictions apply)

  • can you get manga on it

  • @cars67833 Yes you can

  • THERE NO BRIGHTNESS UGH!

  • @Matthew101443k No e-ink readers have brightness controls because it's not a backlit technology, its like paper

  • how do page buttons work comparing to kindle? are they easy to click or do i have to put some force i it?

  • @czytacz No they are easy to click

  • Is that a female usb adapter, like on most phones?

    Thanks.

I'm considering getting it, but I'm hesitating.

  • @MistaScribbles Yes it is

  • i got it today but i dont understand he 2MONTH BATTERY!!!!!

  • i have it 2

  • How much is it plus tax? And do I need to have a special software for this whenever I connect it to my PC (like iTunes for Apple devices)? Thank you.

  • @MrAnji1995 Well tax is different everywhere so I wouldn't be able to tell you that and no you don't need any special software.

  • Blow your nose, dude lol

  • It is meant for an ebook but if you click on the N and press search and type in the website u want it goes to it.. it is not the best but i can work!!

  • Do you need a hanky?

  • In your opinion, how is the battery life? Does it keep a charge for two months, like it claims?

  • the nook sucks

  • Would you recommend this or the kindle with the keyboard?

  • @bucklrk I prefer touch input myself but that's just a personal opinion

  • I just got my nook simple touch yesterday and I noticed that when i push the power button the 1st time it says to press the n thing at the bottom to wake it up, but if i hold the power button down it says "do u want to turn your nook complety off" or something like that. So i was just wondering which one is better for the battery life on it or for the nook itself???

  • @TheMorganAndCourtney You can just turn the button to put it to sleep, that would be the best

  • umm is there a way to get games on it like the first nook... and is there a way to go to the internet

  • @ebmschick Isn't the Nook Simple Touch supposed to be an eBook reader, rather than a browser or a child's game machine? The Nook has an eINK screen, which is great for reading books, but not very good browsing or games. eINK screens have a slow refresh, compared to LCD displays, and display only in grayscale. If you want to browse and play games, it seems to me that a tablet, laptop or desktop would make more sense.

  • Do u need. Or shud u hve a screen protector?

  • @SportsFanSam97 I never use one with my ereaders

  • Thank you for taking the time to review this for potential customers such as myself. I appreciate it.

  • @dylancracken No problem, thanks for watching :)

  • just the information I needed. Thanks so much. I was about to get the kindle but I think the nook is the best specially with the expanded memory sd card slot, that did it for me. Can you do a review on how to add PDF and how PDF looks on nook?? thanks

  • one question... does it work as a frisbee??

  • @Brennan374 Why yes it does

  • bought this for my wife and now i know she'll love it. Great review, thanks.

  • Just got a simple touch tonight. As for the color or tablet I would wait till next month Archos has a 1.2ghz honrycomb for 199$ and use this one for reading.

  • I read so so SO MUCH and that is perfect for me lol I'm in the book club at my school and they should let us use those lolz!

  • Ereader - simple touch nook

    Tablet - kindle fire

  • Just bought this today! so excited! do u NEED an SD card?

  • @CheerGymMusicJB no its just if you want to expand the memory you can

  • why cant it play music and stuff like the next one so i guest you need to tell me can you create a file saying music and that you can listen to music

  • @StarboiO The Nook Simple Touch is pretty much for one thing only. Reading. If you want more like apps, music, etc. I recomend the Nook Color which is more money because of those features.

  • I love this thing way more than I thought I would. no regrets!!

  • Very helpful getting a Nook this weekened very excited you answered all My Questions (: Thanks

  • @90snickfan Anytime!

  • I Need Help, If You Know How To Root Your Nook Simple Touch , I Need Help With It. Ok , Do You Need To Use A Mirco SD - Card Or You Can Use A Mirco USB That Connects From Your Nook Simple Touch To Your Computer ?

  • dude its faster than actually turning a page and it dos'nt even matter

  • to light to hold? interesting

  • I want this! I'm asking it for Chrsistmas/B-Day:)

  • Whhss... Whhhsss... Every time!!! God.

  • This review was helpful. I am getting a nook for christmas and could not decide which one to ask for! This decides it!

  • @tobybee2000 You will enjoy it!

  • 1:24 thats what she said

  • Very informative!! You answered every question I had about the new nook. This review has definitely convinced me!

  • @book97addict Glad I could help! :)

  • Thanks, love the video! It was an awesome review and really helped me decide on possibly purchasing a nook!

  • @remotecontrol202 Thanks for watching :)

  • What are those black flashes that occur every couple of pages? Why does it do that? To anyone who has one- do you find it irritating while you read?

  • @Eivyll It's just the screen refreshing when you turn the page, all reader with e-ink do that. You don't really notice it much while reading.

  • @asusports13 Well if you buy the hardcopy it doesnt transfer a copy to your Nook. The purchases are separate, but if you purchase a book online from B&N it will transfer to your Nook.

  • @asusports13 The prices vary but you download them directly from the device

  • great video, thanks so much!

  • @vol43 Thanks!

  • Man, I'm so psyched to get mine now...what an awesome way to spend $140!

  • @TranquilVirga It's only $99 now

  • @mobitureblog Well I wish I'd have waited two days, now...

  • Are you able to change the screensaver on this instead of the old writers w/out jailbreaking it?

  • Didn't see you go through a PDF file. Didn't see you show how easy/hard it was for me to classify my 2.000 books. Didn't see you mention what the computer enables to do in terms of modfications upon the Nook. Disappointed !

  • Would you recommend the Nook Simple Touch or the Amazon Kindle 3?

  • I'm trying to decide weather to get this one or the nook color. Such a hard choice! I like the size and eink of this one but I would like the light on nook color so I can read at night with lights off.

  • @MissAshy94 There are book lights you can buy for this so you can read when the lights are out. If you want something just for reading I would go for this. If you want a browser and a full tablet go with the Nook Color.

  • I'm getting this Friday when I get paid, but I wanted to see a detailed review for it, thank you! I'm so excited now!

And PS viewers, if your'e a B&N member you get $10 off this Nook device!! Yay!! :-)

  • @19HockeyWitch21 Enjoy your new Nook! Thanks for checking out the video

  • Can we upload our own pdf or epub books onto our micro sd card from computer and read it on this nook?

  • @somil1994 Yes. But you have to find the ePub book somewhere online then insert it into the micro SD slot on the nook

  • Hello, thank you for the review. Are you supposed to put a screen protector on it?

  • @aclogue1980 There isn't much need to

  • Hello, I got a question, ¿can you connect a USB generic keyboard to the Nook? You should use a USB OTG adapter cord (miniUSB to female host USB) or something like that. If you have the elements, can you try if it works? Thanks!

  • now i want a new nook.

  • i wanna see the select-word-to-view-dictionary

  • can you get on facebook and view photos, comment and make statuses without having to do with a book that you are reading?? and can you also get on the internet and search??? sorry im new and just got mine today

  • because of you im getting a nook and not a kindle. Great review

  • I had to buy a $40 microSD card to access any memory. It comes with 2 GB memory - but only 236 MB for computer accessed content.

  • Great review!

  • @ahmedsamy Thanks!

  • Can you read this in the dark? I have a nook color but want to switch over this to save money and for a better reading experience IMO. Also, great review. Thanks!

  • @frownifdown There are accessorie light you can purchase to use this in the dark but otherwise no

  • @mobitureblog that's a huge bummer... thanks

  • @frownifdown

I just like a book. So if you can't read a book in the dark...You cant read a Nook in the dark :P

  • @TrumpetAddict15 well now that i rooted my nook color no way do i want to get rid of it. too amazing now

  • @frownifdown

Haha yeah I bet. I want to get a nook so badly.

  • Great review!

  • @urbanwind91 Thanks!

  • I hate how it blacks out everytime you turn a page or press a button. watched this vid to see if it always does that, apparently it does. Lame.

  • @chommel85 well this one only does it every six pages. But when you think about it that flash every page is no different than turning the page on a real book.

  • @chommel85 That's how E Ink screens work. You will get used to it. If it doesn't 'black out' refresh, then there is ghosting on the screen (you can see the letters from the previous pages). This new nook only refreshes once every 6 page turns, while the Kindle refreshes after every page. This makes it better for people who don't like the flash, but also causes the aforementioned problem. That's why I'm sticking with my Kindle. 4.0 will be arriving soon! I'm hoping they stay away form touch!

  • @creamytarte honestly, i feel that the nook is meant to be more convenient. You save the hassle of going to the book store. Also, you don't need to waste space at home to hold your books.

  • hey mobiture blog, luv ur vid

  • @meandmusicforever1 Thank you!

  • @creamytarte

good books like warrior series and such range from 5.99 to 7.99, really good books go only up to 12.99 @ MOST

  • @creamtarte

old books as in the books people dont really kno about, like books that arent that knon and were published years ago, not classics

there r some classics like dracula or little women pubed by bn

  • how can you acess the internet? cuz all i can do is shop

  • @creamytarte There are a bunch of books you can get for free but they are older and in my opinion less appealing books

  • his is a very good review

  • @stephr0se Thank you!

  • Hey, Can You Access Internet, Such As Facebook Or Gmail?

  • @TheJoker8169 Yes you can

  • @mobitureblog Would you mind uploading a video about how too? Please?????/

  • Great review, very well done. People that do these reviews can take notes.

    Thank you, Peace

  • can u make the nook different colors like before?

  • you must be rich you got ipad mac and ecrything thumbs up to u

  • @raptorable1 Haha far from it actually, I save my money and sell old stuff to buy new

  • clean the nose

  • Good review, thanks for the info.

  • JESUS CHRIST CLEAN YOUR NOSE

  • @pesanze I did prior to recording this video, sorry for being sick?

  • @pesanze hahahahahaha funny .

  • For the love of god please just blow your nose. It's so hard to concentrate with you sniffling

  • @dirtydave218 Sorry for being sick, it's not like I can help it. I also would prefer to push through the video instead of blowing my nose every 2 minutes in the video

  • how much of the book does the sample show?

  • @yamjandali Usually around 10-20 pages

  • I tried the website/url and nothing happens except has a book with this name so I don't get what you were referring to about a hidden site?? Also can you make it brighter as to read in the dark?

  • @timtglf Hidden site? And no the screen is e-ink meaning it does not have a brightness control so you cannot change how it looks other than modifying the size of the text.

  • @mobitureblog You could adjust the size of the text, just no brightness controls.

  • Great review (though I wish you had shown the text/formatting options), and I totally agree that it is one of the best readers in the market right now. I'll probably get my girlfriend to buy me one when she goes to NJ next month, too bad they don't sell it here in Canada.

  • Ryan, please make a video of loading a pdf with images and text. I would like to use an e-reader for my studies and I have most of my stuff in pdf.

I would like to know if this is readable in normal view, and is zooming available.

    Thanks!

  • hey! theres also a hidden web browser on it!!! click the home button then select 'search' and type in the website/URL!!!!

and i also was wondering what the screen feels like. in the video it kinda looks like it would feel gritty or something or is it smooth like the nook color and other electronics?

i kno its a stupid question but pleasee answer!

  • @AwesomeThangs Yeah I read about the hidden browser yesterday, if I would have known a few days earlier I would have put it in the review. The screen is not gritty at all, and is very smooth to the touch. I suggest visiting Barnes & Noble and checking it out, I can guarantee you will fall in love with the device!

  • @mobitureblog Alrighty! Thanks!!!

  • Great review, thx!

What I am missing is the test of displaying books with graphics.

I need to read a lot of scanned book in PDF format.

How does the nook cope with that?

    Displays that well?

  • Awesome and detailed review! Will be buying mine later this week :)

  • hi great review!!! it's nice to read an unbiased review on this and see that it is as good as i hoped it would be...just one question since it's a touchscreen do you see your fingerprints when you're reading?

  • @vampdiaries923 If you're pressing hard on the screen a minor and very unnoticeable print may appear but usually you will not have to worry about fingerprints.

  • Great video. Thank you so much for the review. I have a question for you. Does it work with foreign languages, such as Chinese?

  • I used this today at work. It was wonderful. It's my mom's Nook, but she let me use it. I think I'm going to buy my own now. I have a Imac, I have a macbook. I have an Iphone. I don't need something with an LED screen or a MP3 player. I just want something that I can read all my books on. This thing is perfect.

  • Did you have a cold? You kept sniffing.

Your review sold me, I REALLY want this now. The others are too expensive for me, but this is in my price range easily!

  • @writersbane Yes unfortunately my allergies were acting up yesterday while filming, sorry

  • how does this handle reading .pdf files? im interested in uploading a number of workbooks i have that are pdf formatted files...the font is small...can i zoom and pan with the nook?

    thanks for any help

  • @goobertay This probably isn't the best reader for you if you're looking to read mostly PDFs. You pretty much have to read it as is, which is a shame. Though I wouldn't rule out a possible software update that will allow it to do more PDF-type navigation. But for now I'd go with the Nook Color, the new Kobo Touch, or the Kindle 3 if you're looking to use it mostly for that.

  • Finally a review of this new e-reader. Been looking for this.

  • Comment removed

  • Great review Ryan. I may have missed this, but how do you connect to the Barnes & Noble site and the Social Networks? Does this connect to your home network, or another way?

  • @RickTexas It connects via any wifi connection. The shop application and social networking stuff is all built-in.

  • Great video!

  • Also have a question.. can you look up words in a dictionary and highlight text while you are reading? I heard you can do that

  • @lauraspinelli Yes you can do this

  • Thanks so much. I have been waiting for a good review like this and happy to find one so soon since the device is so new. It was great to see both of the nooks together! Going to buy mine tomorrow! :)

  • thanks for a posting. I'm considering this vs the Kobo Touch. Seeing how someone has already put Angry Birds on this, this may be the device to get as it's only a matter of time before I can get the Sony Reader, Kobo, and Kindle app running here
