It's sad when people use fear to gain influence and sad when important debates/policy get hijacked by those with vested interests, be they huge powerful pharmaceutical manufacturers or those taking advantage of the 'fears' people have about prescription medicine to peddle often ineffective and not always harmless alternatives. In the UK the scandal I see is the price drug companies levy meaning we make cost efficiency decisions not health ones.

While I agree with pretty much everything this doc said about the health industry monoploy, I don't trust these "alternatives" pushers either. They just want to break into the market, it's the status quo capitalists vs the wanna be capitalists. There is no scientific evidence that vitamins or most alternative health care treatments are effective. And there is only circumstantial evidence that big pharma drugs like anti depressants are truly effective.

So to me the current options are lose/lose

For example take vitamins. Scientific studies show that regularly taking vitamins may actually be bad for your health, since your body overdoses way above the natural daily intake recommended. Yet the vitamin industry here in Australia is a $800 billion industry, in the UK it's a 300 million pound industry. They aren't exactly the underdogs they portray themselves to be.

I have put on 25 lbs of muscle. I take lecithin 1200 mgs twice a day. Fish Oil twice a day.E 400 twice a day. Fiber in all shakes, A green formula by GNC. Folic acid, Nitric Oxide Products that increase blood flow in the legs and brain and all muscles ! THEY WORK WELL. I would have dark circles and fat ,sick,ill!

It was very, very shocking - like being added to a military draft. After discussions, we decided to not only change vocations but to sell our beautiful home of 20 years and move to a CONSTITUTIONAL state 1,200 miles away. By the very fabric of the memo from D.C. it is OBVIOUS that our own government is plotting an even bigger attack on US citizens than 911.
