Never knew that he sampled "California Soul" for this track. I love hip-hop in its own right, and I also exploring funk & soul classics through this genre. The music that rap stars grew up with and sampled was a part of black culture and somewhat foreign to me until I began listening to groups like Gang Starr in the '80s.
