    Superb work

  • @davjconn Ha! Yes, Thom has that reputation.

  • Gow Thom¡¡¡¡¡

  • photoshop hero¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Beautiful work! Im a digital artist as well and anyone that says working on a computer is an art cheat or not very difficult has never picked up a Wacom pen and tablet. Very skilled work. I actually saw tools and technique that I can use it my work just by watching this.

  • it is forbidden to paint god...

  • 142 persons are blind

  • Awesome, i was inspired by this video,

so i made a speed-painting of him, check out my channel!

  • This isn't Karma Police.

    It's Street Spirit.

  • @dicksteele75 2nd Song is Karma Police

  • did you basically put down your greyscale and overlay the color? How did you get all the base color down at once like that? Some kind of mask?

  • @DioxyVibos87

    Yah, he paint in grayscale.

But then he use a tool called "Tono/saturación" Im from chile, so im not pretty sure how it's called in english but you can acces to it with the ctrl+u (at least on my pc) with the coloring mode acticated.

Hope i could answerd your question, im gonna find the translation later anyways.

  • <3 the Prestige

  • Thom can do so many different things with his voice, it's amazing. The dynamics are especially well done when the song has meaningful lyrics.

  • This was amazing to watch. Thank you!:)

  • the chin is too sharp

waste of time dude ever heard of a camera

    well done though

  • @jip1000 Its not a waste of time; its something that he enjoys doing, so its worth his time.

  • Such a great song!!! Official video is quite nice.

  • I think this is done with a pad. It lets you draw on the computer, but with a pad + pencil in your hands.

  • This is actaully a taping of when God created thom, and the music he was listening to.

  • @da6547

    I love you..

  • @da6547 He had to create Thom to prevent the time paradox caused by listening to music that had not been written yet.

  • @NitroVII well, anything called "God" is probably outside of time; omnipresent temporally.

  • @da6547 That comment made me lmao, :)

  • Texture on this is crazy.

  • If Thom Yorke saw this video he'd be like "Fucker gave me gray hairs...". Amazing job.

  • is this done with mouse?

  • I realize it takes a fair amount of skill doing a digital image but what about developing hand skills? I would hate to see hand drawing and painting die off...

  • @TheSonicchick It won't. To become a skilled artist I believe you need to be able to handle almost all materials. I paint digitally a lot, but to get a wider understanding you need to experience art in all it's elements. Not just picture reference-digital painting (or general digital stuff). Ofcourse there are great digital artists, but traditional things are more appreciated. Which is both good and bad.

  • i lovelovelove the music! what are the titles of the songs?

  • @MMMerel14 it says at the end... but i'll tell you anyway :P

    street spirit (acoustic) - radiohead

    karma police - radiohead

  • That's incredible that you've mastered photoshop as a tool to the level that you use it as easily as a painter would use a brush! I can only dream of getting this good at it. Do you use a tablet?

  • @chrisguy420 people do like it digital and it isnt souless . me i like both and macpulenta has reakky done a brilliant job i really enjoyed watchin

  • my favourite manic-depressed

  • i wish my speakers weren't terrible. i've never really heard Radiohead, and that first song sounded like it would be amazing if it wasnt being played through my bassless, treble-less speakers

  • i like the guitar part

  • Awesome job dude. Awesome. Long live Thom Yorke, and Radiohead.

  • Beautiful.

An artist drawing an artist of top class.

  • tom is number one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this ain't karma police it's fade out (sweet teen spirit)

  • @orange349 it says: "Music: Street spirit (acoustic) / Karma Police" .. if you listened/saw the whole thing.

  • @orange349 There are two songs in the vid, one of which being Karma Police

  • @orange349 it goes into karma police at the end.

  • this ain't karma police

  • if your this good why not just do it the REAL way?

  • @Chrisguy42O define real

  • @Bobselete come on you have to see the "cheat" of using a computer, if I was this good I would do it the traditional way and in 99% of cases the better more beautiful way

  • @Chrisguy42O there is no cheat. the computer is a medium, just like the paint and canvas. if there is a more efficient and convenient way to do anything, it is obviously logical to do it that way. there is no "better" way as far as beauty and quality, as that is based merely on opinion. digital art only recieves such criticism as yours because it is new, but thousands of years ago, cave painting was the only way to do it. art evolves, digital painting is just the next step.

  • @Bobselete trust me it will never be the next step lol, it will always be that meh product of art like graphic design

  • @Chrisguy42O nice condescenscion. ignoring that, you do realize that pretty much all of conceptual art for cinema and video games is done by digial media, and to get a job in advertising requires focus in digital media, and that many fantasy book covers are done digitally, and that digital media isn't BECOMING the next step, it has BECOME the step, right?

  • @Bobselete were talking about art here guy, not cinema or "fantasy book covers" , nothing can replace paint period

  • @Chrisguy42O what makes your art so superior?

  • @Chrisguy42O not to mention i never said that digital art was replacing anything.

  • @Chrisguy42O

Have you heard of sculptures? For many people who choose to work in that medium, painting is not so important. Sculpture has replaced painting for them.

  • @MrSantaClaws1001 I was talking about painting and digital painting....

  • @Chrisguy42O And the old way of painting will never get talents as good as the old geniuses, people who paint on a physical canvas are 9/10 times full of them self, you as an example.

  • @GenusCastor ya because you know me

  • @Chrisguy42O Wow! The ignorance in your statements amaze me. I'm a graphic artist/ illustrator. I have done traditional paintings and paintings in photoshop. Let me tell you, digital paintings take a lot of time to get used to, just like traditional oils or acrylics do. But unlike oils and acrylics you can do so much more, but with more practice. It take longer to master digital paintings because you can do more with it.

  • @stanleefanatic you can't tell me that people would rather look at this in digital as opposed to real paint, its so souless get real

  • @Chrisguy42O Actually, I can. I rather look at a fun, action pact, and styled illustration than a painting of a still life any day.

  • Radiohead is soo great

  • kudos to your awesomeness

  • Comment removed

  • watching this made me realize what little talent i have

  • @fruitypeebils Talent, no my friend. Practice. I bet you just draw. get a really decent tablet ,intous4 ect, and start painting! Opened new doors for me, and before I knew it. I got pretty good with "hardly" any practice. Observe other great artists, get inspired, not unspired :b

  • @fruitypeebils me too

  • Wow, this was awesome! :)

  • nice work , which tablet did you use?

  • the hair is incredible

  • Hey, can you do the same thing using Illustrator? What brushes/effects does Photoshop have that you used, that Illustrator might not have? I admire this so much! You are ridiculously talented.

  • My God! This is so cool! Thom, I hope you watch this!

  • incredible work good job you did thom perfect

  • So brilliant! didn't poor Thom get a crick in the neck posing for this :-o

  • this is beautiful!

  • Great drawing but that aint Karma Police, it's Street Spirit (Fade Out)

  • @one0man0band Ignore me

  • @one0man0band oops I didn't read the ignore me HAHAHAH

  • @one0man0band It changes into Karma Police!

  • @one0man0band

Watch the entire video next time before trying to look smart over the internet. The first song is Street Spirit (Fade Out) and the second song is Karma Police.

    You fail, dumbass.

  • @pojo205 i'm not smart, i'm retarded

  • Computer programming has kidnapped art and has it hidden in an undisclosed location. Whatever happened to drawing with a burnt vine?

  • @JNieckarz thank you my fellow artist. evolution has gone out the window, remember? anyone can be anything now. this particular person spent FOR ever rendering an image. the idea of illustration was initially to capture what the camera could not. sadly, such things remain ellusive today. cmon people psychedilic drawings and fantastical/scifi/ cartoonised visions are where the manpower should be.

  • Wow, this is too good. I really hope that Thom has gotten the chance to see this.

    Amazing.

  • rofl at the end.. ahh the neck doesnt look right ill just make it longer... literally 10 seconds later, its like it didnt even happen he did it so fast....

  • TA CHIDITO ...CONMAREEE

  • Digital speed painting is not only a great new way to enjoy art but in my opinion a great new art form itself. Di Mattia you are amazing. There are tons of great artists on here doing the same check out cgsbgs, Stephanie Valentine, Jorge Lopez Lorenzana, W. Shamir and Jlorka, they are just some of my favorites.

  • where can i get this acoustic version of street spirit?

  • ti stimo molto sei un grande ;)

  • oh my god this is so freaking awesome

  • very cool :)

chek out my "Thom Yorke speed drawing"

  • i have one question if you are willing to answer.. what pixel by pixel ratio do you use normally for your canvas? i keep setting mine too low so when i go to print and stuff it turns out rather pixel heavy... .thank you in advance for the answer

  • @cammakozie If you want to print stuff. Your pictures should have at least 300dpi(dots per inches). If you're just displaying on screen, use 72pi.

    Hope this helped :)
