  • wooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww great *__*

  • masturbated to this epic music

  • Este tema originalmente e de Jornada nas Estrelas o filme de 1979. O tema da Nova Geraçao recebeu um arranjo diferente e passou a ter o mesmo tema do filme de 1979

  • just love it

  • I didn't think the first movie was terrible, but it did drag on quite a bit. Regardless, I'll never get over the scene where they see the refitted USS Enterprise for the first time.

  • Long live the federation and its principles

  • @jtkirkfan2002 the middle section may be the parts of the motion picture, im not quite sure, the beginning is the TNG theme minus cuts made for the t.v. theme. It returns at around 3:20. So yes, part may not be, but a large majority of the video is TNG, just never played for episodes

  • @flashton23 It's TMP all the way. It has the intro and doesn't have the TNG cuts, which varied between seasons and opening and end titles.

  • @flashton23 I'm sorry, but this is the Star Trek: The Motion Picture arrangement of this piece including "Ilia's Theme". TNG opened with Alexander Courage's fanfare and then went into an abbreviated version of the TMP theme which didn't repeat the counter melody the first time as it does here. I was one of the first people to ever hear this piece in 1979 and have owned it on many different home video media since then. I know what I am talking about.

  • Was this used in Nemesis? I don't remember.

  • @Goofyk1d

It was for all the movies except Star Trek II, III, IV, VI, Generations, and Star Trek 2009.

  • @Goofyk1d

I really similiar to the Nemesis ending theme but slightly different I believe

  • @Westmensch3 Only TMP used the intro heard here. Star Trek V, First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis all used Alexander Courage's fanfare at the beginning. Where "Ilia's Theme" comes in during this version, themes from the other movies are heard in each one.

  • I love star trek

  • Oh my.... OH MY..... Gloriuos!

  • This song is so beautiful it almost makes me cry. I'm such a nerd.

  • Hm, this sounds slightly different from how it's usually played, but by no means bad; rather good actually.

  • It's fascinating. I have listened to this theme so many times but then a minute ago I listened again and dreamed of flying to the stars and goosebumps appeared all over my body. I hope that one day this dream come true and mankind is a noble race that journeys through the universe to explore the unknown and find things that are greater than anyone can imagine....

  • @Habur86 I wish I could like your comment 100 times. I'm currently on a mission to watch the entire TNG from the first episode to the last, doing 3-4 episodes per day on my work commute . I listen to the music in the opening AND closing credits almost every episode. Goosebumps and shivers every time.

  • @metalmidget89 I'm glad I could inspire you :). After all, this is what Star Trek is about: Inspiration and the promise of a bright future where we are "more" than we are today !

  • @metalmidget89 shiiiiiit, this is what i did a a few months ago. Every evening a different episode. A time of true inspiration :D

  • @ariesmp I just finished the last TNG episode the other day. Now I'm watching DS9! :D

  • I remember years ago listening to a version of this theme performed by the Boston Pops at Tanglewood. Nothing can compare to lying on your back on the ground on a chill summer's eve staring up at a sky filled with stars while this is being performed live.

  • Beautiful. We need more Trek!!! Now!!

  • I hope we at least put a man on mars in my lifetime.

  • I am going to use this as the Grand Entrance at my wedding. I don't think anyone on my wife's side will get it, but I know at least my Dad will ;).

  • I actually prefer this vesion over the TNG version. I just really dig the slow tempo. I would almost even want it just a touch slower.

  • If you play this CD really loud on high end Hi-Fi, it will blow your neighborhood away.

  • oooh, this song is just so.... logical..

  • This is the music from TMP of course but the overall main theme is now known as the TNG theme because it was forgotten after the film and was brought back from oblivion by TNG which made the theme famous.

  • I agree this not the TNG theme tune if your gonna post a video it would help if you got the music right i know it sound picky but that us some of us Star Trek fans just my opion

  • Correct, Cincinnati Pops. Always was a bit slow in tempo. Still crisp and solid sounding though.

  • I believe this is actually The Cincinnati Pops conducted by Eric Kunzel. you'll find this is track 2 on the Telarc Disc TIME WARP .

jtkirkfan2002 is right. This IS the theme for the first ST movie.

It was composed by Jerry Goldsmith.

I agree with jerrygollay; ti's way too slow. I thought so the first time I heard over 20 years ago. Other than that, beautifully done.

  • @AzTrailRider57

I agree, this version is Star Trek, the Motion Picture, Cincinnati Pops Orchesta conducted by Erich Kunzel.

  • theses are contuing voyages of the iss enterprise to boldy pwn were nowone has before! X-D

  • My favorite theme of all time. Maybe sometime I will upload my rendition of it on the piano...

  • This is not the TNG arrangement. This is the main title to Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

  • Agreed.

  • @jtkirkfan2002 i agree...the tempo is way slower than in the series

  • @jtkirkfan2002 It is Star Trek and thats all that matters to me. Live Long and Prosper.

  • @jtkirkfan2002 The motion picture main title and TNG are the same theme song.

  • @kmiller37 The main body's may be the same, but this is indeed the Star Trek: The Motion Picture arrangement. TMP has a different opening, repeats the counter melody and has "Ilia's Theme".

  • john williams conduct it toooo slowly...

  • But it's Jerry Goldsmith...

  • @jerrygollay I think he pulled it off pretty well. He captured the absolute majesty of the Enterprise as well as space travel itself.

  • @jerrygollay

not John Williams, and not Boston Pops.

    Erich Kunzel and Cincinnati Pops.

Star Trek, the motion picture version was slower than the TNG version

  • I am exalted!Absolutely Great!

  • One of the most beautiful movie themes! I was searching this long time ago and finnaly I download this by ATubeCatcher to my computer!

Awesome trumpets, pieceful orchestra. Nice work!

  • Well done!

  • Haven't seen the new movie yet. I do like the new Logo. And, of course, the original music here, is top notch. Thank-you for posting.

  • Just rented and watched the movie. Excellent.

  • Awesome! Glad SOMEONE agrees!

  • @crossvilleboy

    Which?

  • @crossvilleboy If you liked TMP than your going to love the rest of them! TMP was really quite bad.
