oh man, I've had my friesian for about 8 months now, and I still can't sit his trot. Doesn't help that his knee action is outrageous. I never had a problem with it before, but when I got him I had to learn it all over again. I can do one diagonal and then my abs are shot. I'm gonna study videos like this and see if I can pick it up easier :p
Wow, you're really good. I tried sitting trot for the first time in lessons today, and i don't know how you do it so well! Lot's of practice I guess. :)
My warmblood has a very expressionate, forward and "bouncy" (as in really springs off the ground) trot that I (after MUCH practise) am able to sit trot to. However, I don't find that I'm quite as connected to the seat as you are. Have you got any quick tips or tricks to help me bring my whole position together? Thanks.
Very, very nice. A lot of good riders are still a bit bouncing in the sitting trot, this way trying to absorb the moves that horse does, which... does not look very attractive. But your sitting skill is enviable. Could you share some more tips, how to learn to sit this peacefull? I know the most important is to practise a lot, but still...
You got a really nice reat and it even looks like you dont want to use any rough methods on your horse. But look, the horse is behind the vertical because you held your hands too high..the hind quarters come up and the horse is on the forehand...i think you can do better!!! And dont do that much with your legs =)
i'm so so inspired by this video! How are you able to sit so quietly? Is it true that more practice in sitting trot will help? Or is there a technique to it?
I just can't get the sitting trot! Just a few steps and then i just bounce. And it's very easy on a shetland. But this video really helped:D now i know what i am doing wrong;)
Very beautiful, both the rider and the horse. I struggle with the sitting trot. The instructor tells me that my hands are bouncing up and down. Actually, I'm bouncing up and down, with my @ss momentarily losing contact with the saddle. I hope I can get to be as good as this rider. Just out of curiosity, what breed of horse is this?
Thank you for the reply. Are you located in the U.S.? Dutch Warmbloods are rather expensive here in America.
I struggle with the sitting trot. My back is tight and not flexible, probably from years of lifting weights without bothering to do stretching. You ride very beautifully.
OMG! I really, really want a seat like that. And it makes you and the horse look in such harmony that it's difficult to tell which one looks better! And I mean that in the nicest possible way. Great seat. Great legs. Great horse. Must get myself some more adjectives! ♥
Looks like this horse has a very smooth easy trot to sit. Very well done:)

I notice you keep your elbows somewhat back and aligned with your hips - is that intentional or helpful?

The horse looks very soft and kind to ride.

@Jubber08 A technique to help the horse stop bouncing, is to do the transitions walk-trot-walk.
This transition will help you to improve your sitting trot.

@clarakong84 Hi, yes a lot of practice is necessary but you also need to know some techniques to get this “better sit”.

@Jubber08 do you follow the horses' movements? because if you really get used of the movements your sitting trot will get better. hope it helps.:)
