This is a serious issue, and tensions are running high. Its easy for people to criticize the booers for not hearing him out, but Mr. Ellison is not dumb. He knows what is going on over there and just as you said maleeham87: "He TALKS to his fellow Congressmen and makes a difference in their thinking". Exactly, so why not bring this issue to the forefront? Instead of just voting along with (almost) everyone else why not make a compelling speech about the genocide in Palestine?

how did Islam spread? how did all those lands in the middle east become arab? it was conqured by islamic forces and in many cases it was convert to islam or die other times it was okay to live if you were "of the book" but then you were 3rd class citizen living a discriminated life,paying xtra taxes and ect...infidels are still considered evil by the beliefs of the extremist muslims..not all muslims,but the extremist groups that are gaining in popularity.

You do even know about this history. When you say non muslim were required to pay extra taxes, you are incorrect. First of all during Ummayyad, ppl who converted to Islam, were still required to pay Jizya. Later it changed. However Muslim were still required to pay Zakat (which was not required from Non Muslim)to Bait-ul-Maal. Yes land were captured by Muslim forces, but they were not force to convert.

He TALKS to his fellow Congressmen and makes a difference in their thinking. He makes sure our voices are heard & he's been doing it since he entered office. YES I'd like for him to do more & I would love to hear him condemning Israel but he NEEDS the support & backing of all citizens that can get him re-elected or he risks losing his position. It's called reality. And the least those protesters could have done was HEAR HIM OUT

Here's a thought, write a letter/call his office. If you really want him to hear you out, you do it away from the public eye. If Muslims don't support him, he WILL look for support elsewhere because he's still doing a job.
