I reecently flew with continental airlines to the states. I found them really good. I was a little surprised to be given real knives and forks with my meal however? Not much point in airport security screening for dangerous items when the airline hands them out!

Continental went "From Worst to First" thanks to Gordon Bethune. Now, just in the last week, Continental announced that they will charge extra for exit row seats, and they will cancel flights rather than pay fines for possibly having passengers sitting in planes on the tarmac for more than 3 hours. Seems to me like Continental is heading from First back to Worst!

Unfortunately 50 people died in that COLGAN AIR crash, operated on behalf of Continental, who doesn't fly prop planes anymore. NOBODY died in the Denver mishap last December.
Even though it has cut back on some amenities, Continental continues to offer food, non-alcoholic drinks, entertainment, pillows/blankets at no additional charge. Charges for liquor or checked baggage impact only those who use them, and are consistent with other airlines in America.
Also, CO waives the fee for one checked bag if you have any CO affinity card...check card or credit card. I pay $25 a year for my KeyBank check card but it saves me the bag fees and gives me miles. I don't always fly CO but i enjoy it when i do.
alot of times continental will give you a brand new blanket i would no lol i had takein a 777 from houston where i live to japan and yeah they had giveing me a brand new one lol
I been flying Continental over 12 years and for me still one of the best airlines even in this days of recetion, you can find, pillows blankets music movies food for international flights, and the crew behavior its very proffesional

Things went wrong on Flight 71 from the beginning when it took off June 13 from Amsterdam bound for Newark. The pilot decided to land the plane in Shannon, Ireland, after passengers complained of blockage in the lavatories.

Plus, Continental has new Boeing aircrafts on order to meet the its growing demand. I am proud to be working for Continental and I have been for seven years. On 03/06 US Airways reported they are cutting more jobs due money problems. According to that report (USA Today)
high milage customers on US Airways are being treated like coach customers or dogs.
Pillows? each time i fly with them ask for a pillow during middle of flight and they say. sorry but we only have 13 pillows per filght. so i either ask for one in the beginning of flight of snatch one from the empty 1st class seats cause i know 1st class boards first.
this is a good commercial although id rather have seen them try to promote themselves and what they can do more directly than showing what they dont do. I think it would of looked a little bit more professional. But nonetheless, i loved it!

Continental has their own catering business unlike other U.S. carriers so that's part of the reason why they can still offer free food on longer domestic flights. I hate American b/c their BOB is nothing more than junk food.

there's no way that continenetal flew from chicago to london- that has to be a united plane. all airlines operate international flights from a hub and chicago isn't one of theirs.
Thats correct, the primary hubs for continental are Newark, Houston, Cleveland, and Guam. Sometimes i think they treat honolulu as a secondary, But chicago doesnt really operate with Continental.

Continental went "From Worst to First" thanks to Gordon Bethune. Now, just in the last week, Continental announced that they will charge extra for exit row seats, and they will cancel flights rather than pay fines for possibly having passengers sitting in planes on the tarmac for more than 3 hours. Seems to me like Continental is heading from First back to Worst!

Unfortunately 50 people died in that COLGAN AIR crash, operated on behalf of Continental, who doesn't fly prop planes anymore. NOBODY died in the Denver mishap last December.
Even though it has cut back on some amenities, Continental continues to offer food, non-alcoholic drinks, entertainment, pillows/blankets at no additional charge. Charges for liquor or checked baggage impact only those who use them, and are consistent with other airlines in America.

Also, CO waives the fee for one checked bag if you have any CO affinity card...check card or credit card. I pay $25 a year for my KeyBank check card but it saves me the bag fees and gives me miles. I don't always fly CO but i enjoy it when i do.

Things went wrong on Flight 71 from the beginning when it took off June 13 from Amsterdam bound for Newark. The pilot decided to land the plane in Shannon, Ireland, after passengers complained of blockage in the lavatories.
The plane was sent for repairs and took off again the following day, but the problem only got worse as sewage from the lavatories flowed into the aisles. Passengers were further offended when flight attendants told them not to eat much.

Continental founder Bob Six wouldn't recognize today's Continental. The airline he built was headquartered at LAX, with hubs there and at Denver-Stapleton, with the farthest east point being Chicago (and Miami later). It seems like a totally east-coast and Europe oriented airline now, based in Houston, with hubs at IAH, Newark, and Cleveland. I really wonder how Mr. Six would react to the easternization of the airline he took over in 1937, when its only route was El Paso-Pueblo-Denver....

When the company was asking for Concessions it included asking it's Guam base employees to do their share despite CMI being profitable. Now, when an aircraft is removed from their operation to cover the upcoming Heathrow route, the Flight Attendants whose lives will be horribly disrupted are being treated like bastard children of Continental. Every employee took pay cuts. But, you must be impressed that Continental is expanding and growing faster than any US airline. Plus, Continental has new Boeing aircrafts on order to meet the its growing demand. I am proud to be working for Continental and I have been for seven years. On 03/06 US Airways reported they are cutting more jobs due money problems. According to that report (USA Today)
high milage customers on US Airways are being treated like coach customers or dogs.

Thats correct, the primary hubs for continental are Newark, Houston, Cleveland, and Guam. Sometimes i think they treat honolulu as a secondary, But chicago doesnt really operate with Continental.

as you can tell by my poor Eng"r"ish, I'm not American. its really hard to understand humour especially if youre from different culture. when i first visited US, I was really really surprised by how rude the shopkeepers were in the US compared to japan (of course there were many friendly one too) and I thought those thing might apply for flight attendant too.
I just took Air Canada flight. luckily they didnt take any thing away from me... because they didnt even provide anything!
