  • The difference between Villefort and Edmund? Villefort actualy looks at what's in a carriage before he sits down in it

  • Whaaaaat?!

  • didn't finised it in class so.. here i am

  • LOL, the pistol part. What a troll.

  • fernan looks like a ferret

  • Comment removed

  • 8:30 "dantes?"

  • i didn't get to finish watching this in class lol :)

  • @STLxSepulveda5 me too. that's why im watching it now cuz the teacher said she'll be giving a test about it

  • steam room scene is kind of rapeie

  • Now the scene begins: Dunglar decides to steal 2 CRATES on his own but, of course, Luigi ignores his orders and follows Monte Cristo's orders, securing the entire rest of the treasure. Knowing that 1 crate is on Dunglar's ship Dunglar will get framed anyway. And when he does, Dunglar sees Luigi riding with the crates and assumes he hasn't boarded them onto his ship yet. So, Dunglar tells the officers "This is ubsurd," thinking he's off the hook.

  • But when Monte Cristo suggests searching Dunglar's ship, Dunglar sees that a crate had mysteriously appeared on board, and assumes Mondego had set him up, being the only possible lead he can think of. That much backstory would make this a very confusing scene indeed. Of course, however, I could be wrong about it, too. (End.)

  • Deceiving lawyers, LIKE A COUNT!

  • I can never watch that part without laughing. He's like *click* "what the..!"

  • 3:22 when Edmond catches the stick like -

    "Bitch please..."

  • i must protect you. even if it means i must protect you from yourself!

  • @authentik39 Thankyou this upload,is very appreciated.

  • 3:37 I'm Batman!

  • this never gets old ;)

  • oh God, I know the result, the kid is Count's son!

  • great movie

  • "You are mad, my grace, for ignoring this. You have a fortune, a beautifful woman who loves you. Take the money, take the woman and LIVE YOUR LIFE!!!!"

Jacopo has great wisdom. The world according to him would be remarcably simple :)

  • "You didn't think I would make it that easy did you?" awesome line!! I knew Edmund wouldn't let him off that easy! He just got the rug pulled out from under him!

  • Just to clarify something which a lot of people overlook. The reason why such acts of loyalty are gone today is because there is so much more opportunity to become something in this world nowadays. Back then, if a person was not rich then they became nomads, thief's, soldiers etc... There were so many adventures to go on years ago due to the unknown out in the world & to explore different continents. I'm sure that you get the idea I'm trying to point out. Life for the poor is much easier today.

  • there is always loyalty as long as there`s someone whoe acts by it

  • There is great wisdom in Jocopo.

  • I was a bit confused what Luigi was doing but I kinda figured out he's was acting like a double agent for Dantes. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • please explain at 2:20 onwards...pls.

  • @The021773 Luigi is working for Danglars as a double-agent for Edmund, to make sure that Danglars gets caught with some of the stolen gold AND delivers the rest to Mondego and Villefort. OR... as he rides off, that entire wagon could be meant as payment for Luigi, seeing as we never really witness Mondego or Villefort anywhere near the gold. Also, Danglars thinks that Mondego set him up when it was actually Dantes. cheers.

  • @The021773 I think I can explain. LONG BEFORE this scene took place with the bad guy (Dunglar) and the pirate (Luigi), Monte Cristo hid 1 CRATE on Dunglar's personal ship not involved in the shipping. He then tells Luigi to unload and secure the rest of the crates until Dunglar is arrested, so that Luigi can bring them safely to Monte Cristo's home. (continued...)

  • This is SO different from the book...

    BUT I CAN'T STOP WATCHING.

    Dantés is so... Deliciously... Bitter?

    Idk.

But I suppose it would be impossible to fit the whole book into a movie (I just finished then unabridged version.... It's so long... But amazing!!!)

  • @IntoTheDarkMist

IMHO, I prefer the movie over the book.

  • @IntoTheDarkMist its the kind of bitterness that is understandable, but you root for the person to take revenge

  • @spiderfreak20 true :)

  • 9:20 Goddamn PWNZORED!

9:23 Burger King King-style entrance? lol

  • @mobius1aic I could NOT stop laughing when I read your post! XD

  • jacopo is the best.

  • best part is when Edmond pops up in carriage window. simply hilarious.

  • 8:38

  • Comment removed

  • Edmond is ridiculously smart and I don't think it came from what he learned, unless the priest knew some good tricks on how to revenge.

  • Take the woman, take the money and live your life.Stop this plan, take what you have won.

    I can't.

    Why not?

That long jacket with the fur is sexy.. I'm just sayin.

  • Muaaaah to you Mercedez you Caught him. Good night Madam Edmund Dantes is not dead. Muaaaaaahhhhhhh.

  • Totally red the look on Mercedes face when she left...she never said the name Dantés!

  • Jacapo transits from silly villian, to wise servant/friend.

MAN! Money is more powerful than I thought!

  • @JustinBlottin revenge is more powerful than money...money just is the vehicle that allows the human spirit to flourish.

  • @original1sun

sarcasim is a foriegn langugae to you... isnt it.

    LOL, jk

  • @JustinBlottin it certainly escaped me on this one :) didn't see the first part of the sentence because "MAN" was so powerful...i still think my statement was a great follow up.

  • It sounds a good plan. Well played best revenge nice one.

  • I love it after he gets his revenge on each person,he does this walk saying "yeah,im that badass"

  • Mercedes is STUNNING ,but I dont think she's dressed in the right 'time' and 'age' apparel

  • tyvm i really want to see i o you one tysfm your the shit

  • He pulled the trigger and nothing happened, man that scene was awesome... Just too good... I never saw that coming....

  • I think he's saving his "old friend" for last.

  • I'm not gonna lie, Mercedes is a fine woman....

  • "goodnight" lmfao

  • This isn't what happened to Villefort! In the book, he turned insane after his beloved son died!

  • @bjpogi210 It's called 'Artistic Liberty' They took a seemingly interminable end (the book version) and made it shorter, cleaner, and easier to understand. It's not pretty, but it makes for a much more compelling visual work.

  • @cracklingvoice have to disagree...the books ending would have been easy to understand, just not for an american audience...

  • it's pronounced dantay not dantes it's just spelled dantes you'd think the director would at least find out how to pronounce come on! americans! sheesh!

  • Jacapo's loyalty can be a theme on its own. Sigh, wish we had more jacapo's today...

  • Comment removed

  • @JustinBlottin He tells the officer to cut Danglar down before he can't talk, so he doesn't actually die.

  • WHY IS THIS DOOR LOCKED?

    Dantes:Because im gonna rape you.lol

  • @plazaff

    Not funny.

  • @JustinBlottin Maybe if i fucked your mom up the ass then it would be huh.

  • @plazaff

LOL. Her big butt would crush, little boy.

  • @JustinBlottin HaHa more cushin for the pushin.

  • @plazaff

    Ouch.

I gotta give you that one.

    Good Cum Back.

  • @JustinBlottin haha thanks.

  • @ilovetocomment317 Nah, he kills Dorleac in the water near the prison, too.

  • @Jahkayhla and @ilovetocomment317

Actually, he Kills 3 people. Doleac first, when he escapes Shateau Dif. Danglar when his gold is being stolen. And then Mondego near the end.

  • ... did he just get his ass kicked by a rope?

  • "Take the money, take the woman" :)

  • I love that the only one he kills is Mondego.

  • Count of Chuck Norristo ?? XD

  • I swore an oath. I will protect you even if it means I must protect you from yourself. There is no more loyalty such as this nowadays.

  • @lilmaqi I love how in this movie about betrayal and revenge, there is still a loyalty that never dies. Jacapo's loyalty to Edmond is very admirable and it's why I love Jacapo as a character.

  • @lilmaqi , That is true unfortunately.

  • @lilmaqi there are thiefs and smugglers though

  • this is the best fucking movie ever

  • Isn't there maximillian and valentine i this movie

  • @LadyCns No Haydee isn't either

  • So....what if Villefont escapes the Chateau d'If the same way Edmond did and starts potting his revenge the same way? ...Nah, nevermind, he's not as smart as Edmond. :)

  • @Ladymakaze

    Villefort can't swim!

  • @Ladymakaze Well how long is a sentence for conspiracy to commit murder?

  • "Who are you?"

"I'm the Count of Monte Cristo, but my friends call me Edmond Dantes!"

haha awesome line! Love this movie. =)

  • BOOM *roasted*

  • @1:28 "I'll walk!"

    wtf, he cant be owned!!

  • I almost ******* my pants as he took his revenge.

  • except for the story written by Mr Dumas, there is the extra element of politic made in USA added in this movie which spoils the original movie. The original movie was heavy to watch, this movie has lost that atmosphere of French cinema, it is chain production

  • james frain is in the tudors with henry cavill...henry plays mondego's son! whoa!

  • 2:36 French SWAT team!

  • I don't understand what this inquisition has to do with our business relationship...

    I'm about to tell you.

  • When Dantes returns to Marseille and sees that Danglars has taken over Morrel's company, there's a sign that says "Louis Danglars". Yet here the officer names him "Philip Danglars". Am I the only one who finds this odd?

  • Is contracting a hit considered only murder conspiracy or aiding/abetting murder, which is basically the same as murder?

  • @mphlohi conspiring to murder IS aiding in murder

  • @xXMonteCristoXx So there's no difference in sentencing for Villefort and Mondego since the murder was successfuly carried out.

  • @mphlohi that would be up to the count.....maybe he bribed the soldiers to not press charges against fernand

  • How you mess up and say the last name of the person you claim not to be, of course she found you out.

  • Danglers: Who are you?

    Dantes: I'm Batman!

  • @Hethrin he looks like christian bale.

  • Actually, 8:40 is quite cool. Think he's recognizing the ass raping he'll be getting in prison, probably change his name to michelle or something...

  • @KCityHoplite lol My name's Michelle!

  • 9:18 I was hoping that the pistol contained gun powder but without the bullet. Then there would be a dramatic bang to scare Villefort but not kill him. That would be very mocking.

  • why would he kill Danglars??? should he let danglars suffer just as he did?

  • @MrMacGamer

He doesn't, since he tells the soldier "to cut him down before he can't talk." At least in this movie, Danglars will end up in prison too, and no jury would believe him when he claims the powerful and rich Count of Monte Cristo is some old sailor friend of his who got promoted over him and escaped from prison.

  • Everything is so well planned, the count's enemies are like puppets in his hands.

  • "You didn't think I'd make it that easy, did you?" Hahhaaha, epic :)

  • "Courtesy of a gentleman...Click! " haha that's cold blooded!

  • i must protect you, even if it means i have to protect you from yourself..

    bravo:)

  • Ah yes, ... a taste of his own medecine >:)

  • "I'm the count of Monte Cristo.. but my friends call me Edmond Dantes."

  • This has to be my favorite part of the movie! 'Do you remember?' .....He exacted the revenge for what this arrogant prosecuter did to him!.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS!!!! =DDD i didn't get to finish it ><

  • this guy is a softie he don't want revenge he's just playing his stupid games lol

  • ok. i dont get the danglars and ship scene. could somebody expain it to me?

  • @evilpony642 villefort and mondego (sp?) had decided that they were gonna steal edmond's gold from the ship, which is the one that danglars was standing on during that scene. he decided to take 2 chests for himself, which he put on the carriage thingy for edmond's old captain to take away

  • @evilpony642 It was all a setup. Dangler was the captain who hated Dantes because he was demoted. He teamed up with Mondego to send him to the Chateau d'If. When Dantes escaped he made sure Mondego could not use any other shipping company except for Dangler's who ousted Dantes' former employer out of business. That is why he told his former employer when he visited that his luck was about to change.

  • dammit!!! wheres haydee!!!

  • @frankwang02 i know. in every adaptation i've watched so far, he's ended up with mercedes.

  • James Frain has been in so much! He's been in this, The Tudors (with Henry Cavill), Elizabeth and at least one or two other things I can't remember right now.

  • you didnt think id make it that easy did u :P hahahahahaha loveeeeee edmond

  • I must say the Countess Mondego has two of the finest and most exquisite bandoongas I have ever laid eyes upon.

  • Ok is it just me or should Dangler have had a longer twisted death?

  • @everyoneisjealousof he didn't die

  • Luigi gets around lol
