stop telling anything.ian is not gay .his ex GIRLfriend is australian model and tv presenter lee furlong .search on google and you will see.SHAME ON YOU you have not the right to tell that ian is gay .he's a good person and deserves respect.
gosh it would've been such a fun and interesting way for him to finally come out..... maybe when he does he'll wear his man-jewellery... you know, the pearl ones he endorsed/designed himself years ago.
i dont get why he holds the whole gay thing in. He should just let it out public so he doesnt have to stress so much day to day. whats the worst thing that would happen if the public found out he's gay?
I used google translator, so not sure how correct this is: Rove: Avviare il clock.Has nessuno mai chiesto di indossare il vostro medaglie a letto? Ian: No Persone in sovrappeso deve essere rifiutata fast food? N. Quante volte al giorno pensi di nuoto? Otto Qual è la tua mamma più probabile per ottenere arrabbiato con voi? Non pulizia mia stanza Quando si erano imbarazzati ultimo? Tonight
thank u so much splatt3d!now i can understand all the interview...you know i think this accent is a little bit difficult for me to undestand..i study english just at school!...grazieee...viva Ian Thorpe!!
When asked if he was gay, his reply was that it wasn't anyone's business. He's right of course, but the typical hetero male is so gay-phobic the normal reply is an emphatic No. :)
To be fair though, straight guys just generally hate being perceived as gay, even if they have nothing against gays or have close gay friends. Kinda like how they wouldn't look at another guy & say, "Wow, he's handsome" but straight girls don't have a problem complimenting another girl. Don't know why that is but yeah.
I wouldn't enjoy being perceived as gay either, but I'd say it matter-of-factly rather than being offended. And I think it depends on the country too. Europe tends to be less homophobic compared to USA.
I haven't been to the U.S., so I wouldn't know but the guys in Singapore are usually pretty homophobic too. Some of them are pretty used to being mistaken as gay though, because of their jobs. My friend writes for a men's fashion & lifestyle magazine whose editors have a habit of inserting "fabulous" every two sentences, so he gets it a lot, although he's straight. Haha.
Either that or Ian's too classy sure of his sexuality to even dignify the question with a typical response. He's always been a very private person and he's always been protective of his privacy. He's also too smart to have allowed the press to push him to making comments he won't otherwise have made.
who would he turn gay for? huh? his already a poofter

So maybe he's not homophobic. And if you're too emphatic it's like admitting that being gay is something bad.

if you are comfortable with your straight sexuality it would be no problem being called gay..those who protest loudest...well you know the saying.
