just wanted to point out he's considered cremello not white as there is no such thing as "white" in the equine world. If it weren't for the pink skin and blue eyes he'd be considered a grey.
My vet told me there is a difference the way Shetlands carry weight and minis carry weight and that shetland can actually carry more than a miniature. Has anyone else ever heard this? I used to have a mini but I didn't ride him
any one who says this is abuse obviously doesnt know anything about ponies. a pony can only carry 20% of their body weight. the that means a 600 pound pony can carry up to 120 pounds on their back. calm down, its not abuse. ponies need exercise just like horses, otherwise they get fat and get laminitis, which is impossible to help, and an animal with laminitis should be put down. its nice to see someone else who rides ponies like me. im 5'4'' and ride a pony whos 13 hands tall and 600 lbs :)
I thought to say this kindly. the rider is far too long about a small cooler for pony. you suffer from sitting back and pony are spoiled. little pony is comfortable to wear around the big riders. I would recommend to a low for larger ponies. otherwise nice video:) sorry my bad english xD
welsh ponies are incredabley strong . shetland ponies are ridiculously strong , they are the strongeszt breed of horse in relation to its size . im sure it can carry a thin girl on its back !!
You are not to big for him. My pony is 116 cm and i am 160 and i'm still riding her. She is very strong, and i'm very thin, so no problem!! Dont listen to the other people!
@sofiiiaw En shettis kan fint bære hennes vekt uten problem, hun er da ingen dyreplager! Rasen er skapt til å bære og trekke tung vekt i gruvene på Shetland, og ikke for at små barn skal bære rundt på dem.

Oh, it's so much fun to find fault with people and their horses. So much easier than working your own horses every day so's you don't have time to worry about other people and their horses.
Worried about some particular "abused" horse? BUY IT and take care of it yourself!
Oh, you couldn't afford to? Then volunteer to help at a horse farm. There is always plenty of stuff to shovel. Don't expect any pay.
As long as the pony is fit and healthy, there is no reason why it cannot carry this girl for a small while. @fifibabes1994 : Exactly. RIding a pony to much when you are to tall is not good for a long time, but for a while it's okay. It's not like she was to heavy or anything :D

for christ sake. i have an 11.3 i still ride. the fact is the pony will tell you if it is suffering. my pony still jogs with me and messes around so i am absolutely positive i am not breaking his bones. ! i hate people who comment on people " your too big for that pony" no one ever moans when they see a twelve year old on some massive 16hh which is equaly as wrong and far more dangerous. its just all the snobby mothers and kids who want to get there kids off ponies and onto horses.!!!!!!!!
a twelve year old on a big horse is equally as wrong and far more dangerous?
imagine carrying something much too heavy for you, at debilitating speeds and often. though you may be able to do it, it will definitely affect you negatively in the long run. a little girl on a big horse is nothing like this if the girl is capable of handling herself. no physical torment involved, thankyouverymuch.
So, you think that people that start their kids out on horses are snobs? you're talking to one right now! and I really don't appreciate the criticism. It is my choice as to what horse I feel that my children are safe riding, and it just doesn't happen to be a pony. My daughter's 16 hand quarter horse never bucked her off and ran away with her like my nephew's 12 hand pony did, so I suggest you keep your one sided comments to yourself unless you know what you're talking about.
@KCBreakinLimits62392 i disagree. from what i can see from these few pictures, she doesn't look like a very correct rider, and even if she was, the fact is, she is TOO BIG to be riding that poor pony and nothing can make up for the back/joint/leg/etc. damage he must have suffered from her riding him. i can't believe ANYONE would do that. all it takes is one glance to tell that she shouldn't be riding him. someone who didn't know anything about horses could figure that out
@MegsLivestock yeah i googled it. this is what it said: "Shetlands are ridden by small children at horse shows, in riding schools and for pleasure." 5'11 does not equal a small child to me. hmm, what do you think? i have no reason to apologize to anyone. if anyone should be apologized to, it is that poor pony.
how do people think little ponys get trained we are not gonna put kids on a unbroken pony god im heavier than you and have been ride a smaller pony to brake her anyway great job he is so cute
I find this amusing. That you are all STILL commenting and telling me how i was too big...2years later!! First, i was 5'11 and only weighed about 115lbs! I was definatly too tall, but i sure as hell wasnt too heavy for him. If you check out my other videos you will see i have a VERY VERY quite seat and hands, and Elmer never once looked in pain. I was VERY balanced and correct while riding him. Last but not least, i DONT EVEN OWN HIM ANYMORE. leave nice comments. Stuff i havent already heard.
@xXdanterocksxX I would like to apologize on behalf of everyone else who never will. It seems that everyone thinks they know everything about horses, so if you post anything that's not a picture-perfect performance, people feel the need to put in their two cents. No one has a sense of humor and they think horses are being abused if you don't treat them the exact same way they do. So, I'm sorry. Cute pony, have fun laughing at stupid people.
@xXdanterocksxX tbh i dont think you was too bigg yuou weigh next to nothing ponies like that used to carry men into battle years ago and carry 18stne deer on ther backs wen men hunted so i didnt see a problem lol and wat a cute pony never seena pure white with blue eyes b4 xx
margotyerves that is probaly why she sold the pony... beacuse she was to big for him.. and I know that it is really hard to sell something you love i know beacuse i have to sell my horse too!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
OMG she is WAY TO BIG for him!!!!!! poor thing. its better to have a horse thats to big and learn to ride it then have one thats to small and put it through all the discomfort. NOTE:WHAT DID YOU THINK PPL WERE GOING TO SAY? WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS MEAN!!!!!!!
what the fuck are you on miasxmami, it dosnt matter how often she rode him, if shes too big she shouldnt be riding at all, i did a 10 year course in equine, so dont bother telling me im wrong idioi!
It does not matter how long your legs are she prob, does not way that much and if you read the MORE INFO HERE BOX then you would not that she sold him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that she does not want your crap!!!!!!!!!!!
Awe Your Pony is just So Cute! I have 2 Welsh Ponies. and just ignore those people you may look a "lil" big, but your fine. you two back a Great Match. He's Such a Cutie!
so your a bit big for him, hes your pony not ours! you also obviously love him a lot and he doesnt look in any pain what so ever for carryin u, hes canterin with u on his back so whats the big deal! u can only tell so much from these pics yet people suddenly decide they know EVERYHTING about u, its crazy!
have you notg thought about what the pony feels? its not the weight load in this case its the legs if you ride a pony you are too TALL for then the pony can become unstable whilst going round corners especially at speeds. DONT question this because this has happened too my friend and the pony didnt get up for a LONG time. she only went faster with tall people but when little people ride her shes completly normal and laid back. get wat im saying?
this girl isnt stupid, She knows what is good for her horse. She probably doesnt ride him everyday. and its her horse and if the vet says hes in good condition and she has a stable riding plan, it doesnt matter how big she is. YES YOU CAN OUTGROW A PONY, if your giving it consistant work and riding it all the time. you sont know ANYTHING about this horse and you dont know what it wants, needs or desires, so leave the rider and the horse alone.
wat the hell r u on about? i never sed she was stupid and i never sed u cant outgrow a pony!!! cus she looks absolutly THE RIGHT SIZE FOR HIM doesn't she i meen "of corse our legs r supposed too touch floor" come on people get REAL shes too big for him end off.
yes, she is to big, but you can cleary tell the horse CAN hold her. her legs dont touch the floor and her horse is moving fine. Like i said, you know NOTHING about this horse, and it might just be the worlds strongest ponest. So shut your trap, before you hurt her feelings. its her pony, not yours, and you cant tell her differnt.
that pony is sooo cute!! ur definitly not to big for him! i ride a pony thats a bit smaller and im a bit smaller then u. people gave me a hard time too. youtube ppl who comment like that have no lifes!
maybe u need to see a pony collapse cus the riders too tall for them cus i have and it is NOT nice. us people who actually know wat wer talking about do have lives because we know when we've outgrown a pony u obviously dont.
Wow, everyone's sure making a fuss about this video aren't they? All I have to say is: adorable pony and you look really good on him. I hope he's happy in his new home, even though this video is from two years ago! :D
you guys are fucking retarded yea she might be skinny but if she cant hold her own weight on him and actualy know how to ride then it doesnt matter cause its all dead weight which doubles the weight on his back.
but, since i seem to be the only one who knows anything at the moment she has good form and he looks like he has alot of muscle yea your a little tall for him but your not hurting him and look like a good rider.
Ur a snob, Ur not the only one who knows how to ride. Shetlads carry hevier people than that with no diffuclty. Trust me, i ride on and he gallops acroos this football pitch and isnt even panting at the end. So shut ur fanny mouth and go get a life!
that pony is adorable...and for you people who are saying she is to big shes not yes shes to tall on him but shes not a fatty and the pony doesnt seem to be to fussed and certinly isnt shoing any sighns of being in pain. btw he looks overly adorable in that western saddle :)
...invention of yours. And my life hasn't even started yet so I don't have the time (and I'm not old enough) to run a facility with horses, so before you start bragging about your little pony shack, lets be reasonable. Also, kids don't always tell other people what to do. I think you better get the ugly ass head of yours on your shoulders before you start saying things like that. Plus, I have plenty of experience, so lets talk now. Because I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Karminou, i just love how you call me "kid". So I shall call you "adult", or, more appropriately, "senior citizen". Because if you have supposedly been around horses for 34 years. And 6 years is alot if you spend all your free time reading 5 different horse encyclopedias cover to cover. So, yes, I do know quite alot about horses. Not to mention I spend alot of time up at a barn. And I don't think you have invented anything either, and if you have, I'd like to hear about this "brilliant"...
the pony is not too small, the rider is too tall. but that does not mean she is too heavy. she looks the correct weight, and it seems the pony has no problem carrying her. so, JLF97, if you wish to ACT like you are an experienced horse person, please get your facts straight.

Are u sure u want comments?? I'm just about to report this for animal abuse... seriously, to much abuse of little horsies on that site, it's sickening..
Karminou, how is it sickening? If you actually knew anything about horses, you'd know that yes, this girl is too tall for the pony, but she isnt too heavy. This has NO effect on how the pony is performing, does it? I didn't think so.
Well, no kid who's been riding for only 6 fk years is able to tell me how to be around horses or how to care for one I've been rising and training horses for more than 34 years and I have 26 beauties myself so I think I kind of know what I'm talking about. I rescued 15 of the 26 I have home and 3 small ponies with back problems, caused by, guess what... I'm sick and tired of kids telling people what to do, you didn't invent anything yet kiddo, get experience and we'll talk after...
I have experience and this isn't animal cruelty. I know your trying to help but your being over sensitive. This pony isn't in pain and she may be too big but shes not too heavy.
actually thats not correct, it depends much more on build. Very tall lanky animals may only be able to carry 15, while short stocky animals can generally carry much more.
HES SO CUTE but his hoves badle need to be clipped poor thing

@KCBreakinLimits62392 i disagree. from what i can see from these few pictures, she doesn't look like a very correct rider, and even if she was, the fact is, she is TOO BIG to be riding that poor pony and nothing can make up for the back/joint/leg/etc. damage he must have suffered from her riding him. i can't believe ANYONE would do that. all it takes is one glance to tell that she shouldn't be riding him. someone who didn't know anything about horses could figure that out
raisin4 2 years ago
@raisin4 do me a favor and go google "Shetland racing" also "Everything about Shetlands" and then after that e-mail and apologize to this girl.

but this is no haflinger
zitronenfalterin87 1 year ago
@MegsLivestock yeah i googled it. this is what it said: "Shetlands are ridden by small children at horse shows, in riding schools and for pleasure." 5'11 does not equal a small child to me. hmm, what do you think? i have no reason to apologize to anyone. if anyone should be apologized to, it is that poor pony.

aww he is so cute so sorry u had to sell him great riding by the way !!

how do people think little ponys get trained we are not gonna put kids on a unbroken pony god im heavier than you and have been ride a smaller pony to brake her anyway great job he is so cute
moonie014w 2 years ago 2
I find this amusing. That you are all STILL commenting and telling me how i was too big...2years later!! First, i was 5'11 and only weighed about 115lbs! I was definatly too tall, but i sure as hell wasnt too heavy for him. If you check out my other videos you will see i have a VERY VERY quite seat and hands, and Elmer never once looked in pain. I was VERY balanced and correct while riding him. Last but not least, i DONT EVEN OWN HIM ANYMORE. leave nice comments. Stuff i havent already heard.
xXdanterocksxX 2 years ago 34
i agree with you!! all u were doing was having somepics taken of you working him my god why dont people just shut up
morgig101 2 years ago 2
@xXdanterocksxX were you anorexic?
raisin4 1 year ago
@xXdanterocksxX I would like to apologize on behalf of everyone else who never will. It seems that everyone thinks they know everything about horses, so if you post anything that's not a picture-perfect performance, people feel the need to put in their two cents. No one has a sense of humor and they think horses are being abused if you don't treat them the exact same way they do. So, I'm sorry. Cute pony, have fun laughing at stupid people.
TheDenverOmelette 1 year ago
@xXdanterocksxX tbh i dont think you was too bigg yuou weigh next to nothing ponies like that used to carry men into battle years ago and carry 18stne deer on ther backs wen men hunted so i didnt see a problem lol and wat a cute pony never seena pure white with blue eyes b4 xx

She is not too big. Horses can take a lot of weight. Plus she is thin, so it's not like it matters any way!

all horses are different and can take different weights. She was too big but im making a big thing of it cus its pointless now.

OMG she is WAY TO BIG for him!!!!!! poor thing. its better to have a horse thats to big and learn to ride it then have one thats to small and put it through all the discomfort. NOTE:WHAT DID YOU THINK PPL WERE GOING TO SAY? WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS MEAN!!!!!!!

cute pony! Your saddle is a little small tho...oh well as long as you and your pony are comfortable then there is nothing wrong with it.

jeanarrrYO 3 years ago
adorable.
and you are a little bit big but so what?
ponies can hold alotta weight and you sold him.
eff what they say and do what you want!!
MiasxMami 3 years ago
have you notg thought about what the pony feels? its not the weight load in this case its the legs if you ride a pony you are too TALL for then the pony can become unstable whilst going round corners especially at speeds. DONT question this because this has happened too my friend and the pony didnt get up for a LONG time. she only went faster with tall people but when little people ride her shes completly normal and laid back. get wat im saying?
charlottee9412 3 years ago
this girl isnt stupid, She knows what is good for her horse.
MiasxMami 3 years ago 3
wat the hell r u on about? i never sed she was stupid and i never sed u cant outgrow a pony!!! cus she looks absolutly THE RIGHT SIZE FOR HIM doesn't she i meen "of corse our legs r supposed too touch floor" come on people get REAL shes too big for him end off.
charlottee9412 3 years ago
yes, she is to big, but you can cleary tell the horse CAN hold her. her legs dont touch the floor and her horse is moving fine. Like i said, you know NOTHING about this horse, and it might just be the worlds strongest ponest. So shut your trap, before you hurt her feelings. its her pony, not yours, and you cant tell her differnt.
MiasxMami 3 years ago 4

maybe u need to see a pony collapse cus the riders too tall for them cus i have and it is NOT nice. us people who actually know wat wer talking about do have lives because we know when we've outgrown a pony u obviously dont.

Sirennah 3 years ago
you guys are fucking retarded yea she might be skinny but if she cant hold her own weight on him and actualy know how to ride then it doesnt matter cause its all dead weight which doubles the weight on his back.
but, since i seem to be the only one who knows anything at the moment she has good form and he looks like he has alot of muscle yea your a little tall for him but your not hurting him and look like a good rider.
i hope whoever bought him loves him :]
mandaagoesrawrr 3 years ago
Ur a snob, Ur not the only one who knows how to ride. Shetlads carry hevier people than that with no diffuclty. Trust me, i ride on and he gallops acroos this football pitch and isnt even panting at the end. So shut ur fanny mouth and go get a life!

...invention of yours. Because I'd love to hear what you have to say.
gallopxfactor 3 years ago
Karminou, i just love how you call me "kid". So I shall call you "adult", or, more appropriately, "senior citizen". Because if you have supposedly been around horses for 34 years. And 6 years is alot if you spend all your free time reading 5 different horse encyclopedias cover to cover. So, yes, I do know quite alot about horses. Not to mention I spend alot of time up at a barn. And I don't think you have invented anything either, and if you have, I'd like to hear about this "brilliant"...
gallopxfactor 3 years ago
too all the comments below if u actually bothered to read the description he is SOLD so she aint riding him anymore
Your not too big for him...yeahh maybe a bit tall but its the weight that counts and u look really skinny so your not too heavy :)

if i new were u lived i would report u for animal abuse that pony is too small
JLF97 3 years ago
the pony is not too small, the rider is too tall. but that does not mean she is too heavy. she looks the correct weight, and it seems the pony has no problem carrying her. so, JLF97, if you wish to ACT like you are an experienced horse person, please get your facts straight.
gallopxfactor 3 years ago
Nahhh your head is too big :) the pony is a perfect size for a shetland x welsh sec a.

Are u sure u want comments?? I'm just about to report this for animal abuse... seriously, to much abuse of little horsies on that site, it's sickening..
karminou 3 years ago
Karminou, how is it sickening? If you actually knew anything about horses, you'd know that yes, this girl is too tall for the pony, but she isnt too heavy. This has NO effect on how the pony is performing, does it? I didn't think so.
gallopxfactor 3 years ago
Well, no kid who's been riding for only 6 fk years is able to tell me how to be around horses or how to care for one I've been rising and training horses for more than 34 years and I have 26 beauties myself so I think I kind of know what I'm talking about. I rescued 15 of the 26 I have home and 3 small ponies with back problems, caused by, guess what... I'm sick and tired of kids telling people what to do, you didn't invent anything yet kiddo, get experience and we'll talk after...
karminou 3 years ago
I have experience and this isn't animal cruelty. I know your trying to help but your being over sensitive. This pony isn't in pain and she may be too big but shes not too heavy.

1) He's albino XD (well it looks like it)
2) Shetlands can carry up to around 30-35% of their body weight, which is an average of 500kg, you do the maths -
3) I want a video of him being ridden! :D
and guys remember he's also a Welsh making him bigger and havign the stocky strength of a Welsh Mountain pony!
He is adorable!

oh and everyone shut upt. ponies can hold up to twice there body weight!
myjimmy08 3 years ago
Bahaha I'd like to know what kind of drugs you are on so that I can have some and be just as delirious.
Horses and Ponies should never carry more than 20% of their body weight.
lildevil7777 3 years ago
actually thats not correct, it depends much more on build. Very tall lanky animals may only be able to carry 15, while short stocky animals can generally carry much more.
TheLittleIronHorse 3 years ago
20% is a general "rule of thumb" of course it isn't going to be completely accurate for each individual horse.
lildevil7777 3 years ago
eh what the hell thats shit not true at all!!
