Internet Explorer have more features and functions then the other Browsers, with no Addons, but he is still the slowest Browser on the Web, but I am a bit excited about Internet Explorer 9, because they wanna be rich the speed of Firefox in JavaScript 3.6/3.7. I hope so, speed will improve till 200% - 400%.

So, I use only Internet Explorer with Windows 7, because I like the preview Tabs in the Taskbar and the Functions. But for Browsergames I still use FireFox often.

I thought accelerators were supposed to increase browsing speed not give you "easier sharing options" or search suggestions.

Whoops, now Microsoft's gonna steal the idea of Opera Turbo and put it in an update for IE8 and then make a commercial claiming that IE8's the only browser to have a function to speed up browsing even though Opera had it since an early build of Opera 10.

I've been using IE8 lately and I have to say it's pretty good. I used to be an anti-IE person especially with IE7, but they've really worked on IE8 security and browsing speed isn't bad. Firefox will still remain my favorite one. Anyway, I really like this commercial, it's funny and talks about a feature of IE8. Keep it up MS, make a similar commercial to this with Windows.

How do you figure? It's been rising every year like clock work and even regardless of the recession they are still doing very well. If only they could lower the price to be actually competitive with HP and others then there really is no reason to be using a PC other than for gaming.

well yes there is a reason for PCs, industrial and education purposes are a huge sector and thats where a large portion of PCs lie. plus there are those of us who simply prefer the windows interface. besides, with the advent of the app we get pretty much the same convenient functionality as macs.

Actually most schools want Macs, but often IT directors shoot them down because they have an obsessive loyalty to the Windows PC.

And in industry, the platform of choice is Linux, or one of the Unixoids. Those can run on almost anything, including outdated hardware, and even on Mac boxes.

Plus it's open source, so the software can often be *free* Which always pleases the bottom line.

Im not really talking about "schools", rather educational programs such as matlab and the wolfram series, not to mention in industry you get statistics programs CAD/CAM, Microcontroller environments, and software support for industrial purposes that you just dont get in macs and even unix sometimes. this is why most of the time computers ive worked with have it dual-booted. as well, open source is a wonderful concept but often times i have found it very unreliable in an industrial context.

Have you used Safari 4 yet? Do you know anything about what's new for it? For instance the fact that it has some really cool crash preventive measures. So if a plug in on a page (like the craptastic flash) crashes, the entire browser won't crash just that section of the page. All it needs is a refresh. That alone sells me.
