can't tell you how many times i saw journey at the long beach arena.. this tour saw them at long beach and the forum in los angeles.this is what a band was all about, great front man with perfect vocals and neils guitar work.. and the tone of his guitar. the first time i saw journey off of the infinity album, it was just free setting and half of the arena was empty. i stood right in front of steve perry and was sold, that he was the real deal, not a studio done guy.

I saw Journey's Escape Tour when it stopped in Charlotte, NC back in 1981....That had to be one of the loudest concerts I had ever heard with Neal Schon's blistering guitar solos.....Loved every minute of it !!!!

But Steve has a voice that not many can touch on the high notes, not even Mr. Rogers (lol) Steve has such control over those high octaves but he doesnt seem able to get that raw R&R and vibrato of Rogers. But hey, we all win in this game. Would be Great to see Steve back out there again even in some type of mixed Super Group setting like Ringo's Allstars.

Indeed, Vegas 2008 Deen's version was incredible. keep supporting Journey band, I am sure you like Deen and as I do idolise Neal Schon. AP is the Chapter 6 of Journey's history book. AP himself said that he is a huge fan of SP. And Journey-Sp helped him to survive from homelessness through singing Journey SP songs in the 80's. Keep Journey band rocking!
