I hated this level SOOOO Much! I always get struck by lightning but this was fun despite being a pain in the neck, the enemies didn't make it any easier. they don't make them like this anymore.

I remember when i got there for the first time. MY EMULATOR MADE THE LIGHTNINGS INVISIBLE!!! I had to use a huge ass amount of save states and pray i didnt get hit.

...Unless the remainin' two Lost World levels I haven't played as of yet are somehow worse.

I think I cheated on my ex girlfriend with dk country 2. literally... i played it instead of hanging out with her. I hated her so that was a key factor as well.

At some points you can carry a barrel (particularly effective if you're controlling Dixie, because of the way she carries things over her head). If the lightning strikes then, whatever you're carrying breaks but you remain unharmed.

Try using your backspace button, I play on an emulator too and that's what I use, if that doesn't work it's whatever your select button is.

This level is so much easier on the GBA version. I played this on the VC and I'm all "ok, this is a bit harder." I progress past the halfway barrel and I'm all "When did the lightning get this fast?!?!" Nonetheless, this level is awesome!

Snes9x is an emulator that you can download free. You use it to play SNES games straight on your computer (of course, you have to download those as well). You can download the emulator at snes9x. com (remove a space before the "com").

I like how the farther you get towards the end, the faster the Lightning falls

In the GBA, in this level, holding a barrel will decrease your chances of dying by 50% when you get struck by lightning.

In DKC2, despite his name, Cat-o-9 tails has only 7 tails.

Hiding in the water is the least safest place to be in a thunderstorm.

Standing under a red Buzz makes you invincible to lightning.

I never owned DKC3, but from what I see at this video, you see a tiny lightning flash before the big one comes. It always lands on the same spot. Hope this helped.

Before the lightning strikes, a warning flash will appear where it will strike. Carrying a barrel on the GBA will decrease your chances of dying when you get struck by 50%.

Try playing this game with Christmas Bonus levels. It sort of changes the items and music. Its mostly the only code I use, so why not give it a try? On the File Select screen, press L L R R L R L R and the game will tell you to enter a code. Type in "MERRY" and you'll have Christmas themes bonus games. Just a thought. Well, back to the point, this level always scarred the crap out of me, but was a good way to defeat the enemies. nice work.

Well, the lightning seems to predict where you will go if you keep running non-stop. So often times I find myself stopping because the lightning is right ahead of me. Also, it flashes briefly before striking, so you get warned of it ahead of time.

What font do you use for the titles of your vids?

The font I use is Kongtext. Chances are that it's not installed on your computer. Go on Google and search for "Font Stuff from codeman38". Click on the first link, and you should find Kongtext near the bottom of the page. If you need more help installing it, feel free to ask me how.

Here are the instructions (I only know how to do this in Windows XP):

1. Extract the ZIP file that contains the font.

2. Once extracted, place the font in a folder that you can locate easily.

3. Go to Control Panel.

4. If you are not already in Classic View, click "Switch to Classic View" on the very left.

6. Go to File, and click Install New Font...

7. Locate the folder that you placed the font in (from step 2).

8. The font should show up. Click it, then click OK. The font will be installed.
