  • Thanks for this. We must have been sitting very close to you that night. What a gig. We were there for the 60th as well - amazing to do it all again a decade later. And the voice was great that night. I have heard Roy do this quite a few times in Dublin and Cork, but I wasn't expecting the horns and strings to kick in on the chorus; what a moment - the song just took off. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

  • thank you so much for uploading this fine quality recording alistair; for Harper fans across the pond, like me, it's a rare treat. you must have good mics!

    wordofgord

  • @thewordofgord I used a straight Canon Powershot G12 from about three quarters back but the RFH acoustics make the sound beautiful anywhere.

  • @alistairburns - spot on, sounds beautiful with live orchestra, great vocal as well - you got a really good sound also - thanks - brilliant, can't stop watching it now!!!

  • @TheMikehobson I was about two thirds of the way to the back but the acoustics there are fantastic. Just wish I had the same camera I have now when he played at my university twice in the 70s!

  • Breathtaking - thank you very much x

  • @TheMikehobson Heard Roy explaining the song on an interview when it first came out, warms the heart to hear him doing it 100% justice all these years later.

  • thanks for this i was there but really wanted to hear it again. WE WERE SO LUCKY

  • Thank you. Legendary.
