  • @veebee81 she die in 2009 right after michael jackson so that why not to many people knew

  • I wondered why Fayette was no longer in the group! I didn't realise she had died? When did that happen?

  • Fayette had a beautiful voice. I would have like to see her on lead more than she was.

  • Wooondeeerfuuul !!

  • THANK YOU :)

  • Destinys Chilld so copied these women.

  • The only thing that dates here here are the backing . .er . . dancers. Faye (RIP) still sends a shiver down my back as she ad libs from 01:46 (Hey cmon . . .etc) onwards. Magic. Pure magic.

  • summer 1974

  • DISCO SOUND!!!!!!

  • How many 3 Degrees were there? To me the true, more melodic singers were the late FAYE plus SHEILA and VALERIE. I Ioved them all when I was younger! (GILBERTO SAUGEN, a fan from Brazil.)

  • I'm 50 and spent my youth listening to and loving the 3 Degrees,it's a pity one of them has died. The other 2 singers keep on singing or have retired ???

  • Hi, glad you love the 3 Degrees AND there are many of you.

Both singers are very active. Valerie Holiday, she's together with Helen Scott and Cynthia Garrison and are the official Three Degrees! Beside that, Valerie doin' some solo stuff.

Sheila Ferguson, also a busy lady, acting, singing. You can find different links to their website, myspace, facebook, etc in the description of this video.

Enjoy them, as much as we all do!

  • I know some Lyric websites show these are the words but there are a few errors. For what its worth....

  • this is new to me i didnt know faye had die on june 27 two day after michael jackson so sad and she was still young in my mind

  • "We're just like soldiers in an army"

  • om bring them back, sooo cool, neil

  • this is there year ! to be honest i dont like the modern day three degrees when it was theses threegirls it was the best !

  • So pleased to see Faye really enjoying this, "giving it some" in the second half adlibs. So sad we've lost her. She's singing down to us now.

The girls really cook here, although the footage sync is slightly out - this is TTD live harmonies at their best.

Enjoy - the best doesn't come along often.

  • how did faye die and how old(is she the one in the middle)?

  • Unfortunately Fayette died Saturday, June 27th 2009, from acute respiratory failure.

    She was 61.

In this clip she's on the left, Valerie Holiday is in the centre and Sheila Ferguson on the right.

    The classic TTD line-up.

In these live vocals Faye takes the single vocal line adlibs starting about 01:45 with "Hey, cmon . . . ooh we gotta get it together" etc.

  • Do you know any more about how this acute res failure came about because she looks so fit.

  • Eh?

This show is circa 1974-75 as the song was released in 74 and Fayette left TTD in 1976.

So the clip is around 35 years old.

Please tell me you don't think this clip is current.

Poor Faye died after a very short and sudden illness in June. She was sick for only two weeks beforehand and passed away peacefully in hospital with her family and other loved ones around her.

  • ah no,i somehow missed the date when she died on your last post,i assumed she died sometime soon after this clip.but i see now it was in 2009,still quite young at 61 though dont you think?i think i was half asleep when i was reading it,lol. thanks for the info, very interesting.

  • Sorry for the thumbs down, that's me again clicking the wrong darn button!! Oops!!!!

  • Sorry, I meant to give this comment a thumbs up, but clicked the wrong darn button!

Appreciate your identifying Faye's singing. The video is so out of sync. Back when they sang this, I never realized that the parts were being sung by different singers. Seeing this now makes it quite easy to hear, and appreciate, that each lady had a very good voice.

That's what makes a great vocal group and accounts for great harmonies; each member with a strong and good enough voice to sing lead.

  • catchy song, beautifully sung and great lyrics. For those interested the host presenters at the end were the brothers Mike and Bernie Winters.

  • just brilliant!! mmmmm xxx

  • I always loved this song. Those backup dancers and host are for the birds.

  • MUSIC AT ITS BESST!

  • "We're just like.. soldiers in an army, come on ...and join us please!" I couldn't figure out that line on the original recording! Great performance!!

  • ***** a five star clip

    thank you for posting

  • Those folks in the background are doing what Northern Soul dancing looks like to me LOL

  • THAT VALERIE IS SOO DAMN PRETTY

  • Wished they were more popular in the U.S.!

    They are truly talented!

  • de luxe...

  • god bless america...mr.les paul

  • Thank you for the vid man !!******

  • This is just one of those happy, happy songs. It makes me want to jump up and dance. I also like those background dancers - - simple, effective steps that do not detract from these three singing greats.

  • Thanks, great song!! Brings me back to when i was little, great times...It featured in my favorite tv series here in the Netherlands named Gooische Vrouwen. So i'm glad to have found it onhere, these women can saaaaang their harmony is outta this world!

  • thank, super video

  • Fantastic! J x
