This is true... some catbirds mimic my whistle in exact pitch. They also are very friendly and have fed from my hand. This guy takes cheap shots, killing titmice, woodpeckers and so on. Wow! This kid is a total idiot. Killing an animal solely for amusement and thrill is unacceptable. I owned a few air rifles when I was a teenager and I never fired it at any animals. Feet Per Second. Also known as muzzle velocity. The speed at which the projectile being fired, in this case a bb or pellet leaves the barrel of the gun. More is better. Better accuracy, better range, better stopping power. Accordingly, air rifles with 1000 fps cost more. Your budget will dictate. If you can put a bb clean though a soda can, you can penetrate birds. For large birds like big crows, shot placement is key. Better to have more fps than not enough. Buy the best air gun you can afford.
