  • You could put a flamon the beggining of any rudiment!!! cool! Tam.x

  • that snare drum sounds pretty good ... for a piccolo it seems to have some warmth to it

  • nice a small drum

  • cheeses lol

  • it is called a "cheese"

  • there's more than one way to do a double sroke roll

  • Very well explained Jack..you really are helping to de-mystify this great art ...keep up the good work and thanks...

  • Flam Tap

  • sounds very military.

  • is the basic part

  • marching*

  • Wow, if you can't double stroke roll, just don't play drum set. Practice regular snare.

  • @griffdrummer

You're basically saying to a big part of the drummers: don't drum :)

Many drummers can't play anywhere near decent double stroke rolls, but they perform perfectly within a band, which in the end is what drumming is about most of the time.

Double stroke rolls expand your pocket and your possibilities and it's good to practice it, but saying "if you can't double stroke rolls, don't play the drums" is saying to many succesful drummers: don't play your drums. That's BS.

  • @SinisterSkip I dont know any drummers that cant pull off double stroke rolls...

  • @SinisterSkip

Double stroke roll is the absolute starting point, along with singles. If you can't play a double stroke roll, it's time to find a new hobby. period.

  • does anyone know how to do double stroke roll in the first place? i find it difficult. anyone can help?

  • word how the am i suppose to go that fast

  • perfect the rebound stroke man!! I can go above 250 bps. Its all in the wrists i promise. work on freezing the stick as it bounces off the head of the drum. never press the stick onto the head the stick does all the work. and stay relaxed while you are playing. thats how i did it.

  • Rebound is your best friend.

  • no. relying on rebound is your worst enemy you have to practice and practice controlling your back fingers, especially the pinky

  • lol! hahahahaha

  • great stuff.. thanks a lot, maybe your next vids shows us more of rock style fills?

  • By the way, a flammed double stroke is called a cheese. Try single stroking a 13 stroke roll and cheesing every third note. It makes for a nice accented triplet grid.

  • Well explained, great execution clear as crystal thanks for posting.

  • ohh!! so god, very god, tecnique

  • awesome stuff..thanks for sharing your expierence!!

  • MATE

  • what planet are you on dsagggg? are you listening to the drumming/teaching? or are you dreaming about his backdrop? if anything i like the background as its plain and lets the drums/cymbals come to life, especially with the nice lighting. stick to the content being taught and you might actually learn something.

  • lol drum corps studies!!! cheeeeeese roolllllllllsss

  • good stuff, thanks
