That is where the name from. The Adams family. Our entire school system performed a more modern version of it as MC Hammer or someome did a remake/remix on it in the 1980's. Vick Mizzy's name was on every score of which there were hundreds. I remember the original. I am 60 and retired now. Hell I remember "Klondike" too. Westerns were real popular in my childhood. "Big Sky" music in stereo for Westerns. Adams Family is more novelty and for kids or comedy.
The Adams Family was a great tune but the Klondike TV theme was his greatest moment (he co-wrote it with Mann Curtis). It is one of the brightest, freshest, most uplifting and inspired pieces you will ever hear. I have a copy of it and will upload it if anyone is interested.
This is one of those unexpected surprises. I've seen "Vic Mizzy" countless times, but had no idea who he was, and really the sheer genius of someone who compose just "sitting down at the table " and writing it out. It is ashame that today's themes do sound alike like Mr. Mizzy said. If today's composers have the patience enough to watch they could learn much from him. Thank you for posting, and for the work of the Television Archives.

I have been a huge fan of Vic Mizzy, since I first heard his music on the Addams Family in 1964. Thank you so much for this interview.
