I used to play a game ages ago,where one of the characters you can select was a Rugby / american Footabll player, one of the end bosses was some silver guy that could transform into all other characters etc. Was a fighting game,anyone know the name ? ty.

I remember as a kid, that reveal of Balrog, Vega and Sagat was so unexpected. Thought the game was over when you beat the last of the regular characters.

The very first time I saw this game was spring 1991 at a Las Vegas arcade (on vacation when I was 8). I was blown away and wanted to play it so bad. However, the crowd around it was so big that I was never able to get a turn to play it. Then I was stoked when our local bowling alley put this up in the fall of 1991. It immediately became my brother and I's favorite way to burn quarters.

Sheng Long is no character, it´s a mistranslation for Dragon Punch (Horyuken). Ryu means that you must overcome his Dragon Punch to stand a chance.

@Chinzino to unlock the sheng long character you have to get perfects on every round using ryu, once you reach m.bison you have last ten rounds with out being touching him or him touching u, on the tenth and final round sheng long will appear and throw m.bison out of the arena , and then you must fight, sheng long can do every players move and is slightly faster, you can only do this on the arcade.

I love how the difficulty level on this is non existant, you could literally dribble on the joypad and still beat the opponents as they do next to no attacking in these vids. Put the difficulty level up then see how good you are. (and before anyone asks yes arcade games did have those kinds of settings)

lol, I like looking at these old sprites and noticing how "real" they look in terms of muscularity. HD Remix sprites are crazy, Honda's got like hidden fat muscles, even Vega/Claw's e buffed out. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they were thinking of putting Cammy and Chun through the roid change.

Yes this is definitely on easy-mode because it's almost impossible to getting a perfect so many times on hard-mode.

That's why in Japan he's referred to as Bison (at the time Capcom did NOT want a lawsuit with Mike Tyson and the likeness of the character in the game).So there's this little mix-up with the names Vega, Balrog, and Bison when Street Fighter came over the US.

@goshogun that is actually true Capcom changed his name from M. Bison to Balrog. Balrog was Vega's Real Name, and M. Bison's name was really Vega Sagat stayed the same if im not Mistaken so if im wrong please do correct me. M. Bison's name was switched to avoid "Iron Mike" Tyson from suing Capcom; Capcom admitted this.

@goshogun the original of balrog is Mike in street fighter, in street fighter 2 the name was renamed for Mike Bison, but capcom when lanched the game in USA renamed the name of Mike Bison to Balrog.

well technically yes, but it wasn't the low kick I was lookin for. Usually the good ones where I played did the flying kick, low med/short kick, then shoryuken. I could never do that....

Oh that combo is a bit hard. Doing that in Street Fighter III and maybe also Street Fighter Zero 3 is much easier.
