    I agree, that's not fair. To be inspired by someone is not to be "a cheap imitation." That Lauper could take this "New Wave" sound mainstream is a testament to her talent.

  • I love the 2-tone Ska feel the electric organ brings to this (rare) version especially around 1'32 where the descending run is straight out of "On My Radio" by The Selecter :) . Totally different version to the one on Lene's "Stateless" album, and the 7" that charted at the time. I almost prefer this one you know, much more raw and gritty!

  • This version is painfully dated, just like some other songs from the 'Stateless' album. The single version still sounds as good as it did 30 years ago.

    Lene's best album, in my opinion,

    is 'No-Man's Land' featuring very underrated 'It's You, Only You'.

  • Lene released only a handful of albums, the best of which is probably her 1979 debut, "Stateless", which includes this track. Aside from that record, the best introductory CD would likely be a "hits" package. I'd recommend "Lucky Number: The Best of Lene Lovich", released in 2004.
