  • what is the fish at 0:50 please?

  • If it is the picture with 2 fish on the rock, the near one is a pinstripe hong kong plec and the back one is (I think) some sort of goby.

  • Just a random thought:

I wonder how much it is to phone from (Florida) USA to the UK (Newcastle) without a calling card for an hour...

  • where is this place at?Ive been looking for salamanders for a while

  • In England, man. We don't deliver outside the UK.

  • iv reckoniezed a lot of them pics from by book lol

  • Yeah, this isn't my greatest video..............

  • I've been watching videos for inspiration. Your tank/set up has just done it for me! Do you mind if I use this?

  • The new shop video is much better. If you click the link at the start of the video or search 'Aquarium and pond supplies Newcastle' you will find the new one.

Use any of my videos if you like, no worries but I will be deleting this one soon.

  • whats that fish or creature that come after dwarf gourami

  • Axolotyl

  • @pondguru is it rare? never seen it in our pet store. and is it freshwater or salt and about how much is it? sorry so many questions. i just NEVER seen that thing.

  • They're almost extinct in the wild but the ones we get are bred in the Czech republic. Freshwater, originally from Mexico. They range from £8.99 - £26.99 depending on size available. They are reasonably common in the trade but very susceptible to chlorine as they have exposed gills, so you need to use a good glug of water conditioner when doing a weekly partial water change. They eat bloodworm mostly but will also eat shrimp and other chunky, meaty foods.

  • woow awsome!

  • woow awsome!

  • Very beautiful.

  • what is that fish at fifty secons

  • If it is the elongated one with a red stripe then it is a Dennison's Flying Fox (Puntius dennisoni)

  • This makes me petsmart look like those asian pet fish vender in asia with those hot dog cart and those pole with fish bags stuck to them.

  • @mctravish107 have u been to asia?

  • @Lilsaintaz Yush! =P

  • @mctravish107 which part? For all i know, i have never seen a man sell fish on a ice cream cart. I lived in singapore awhile, and they had great LFS

  • @Lilsaintaz some around tai or something

  • What is the name of the animal on :34 secs

  • It is an Axolotyl. It is a sort of salamander that never grows out of the larval stage and even breeds in this condition. They come from Mexico and I think they are critically endangered in the wild. All the ones we get have been tank bred in Europe.

  • Good commercial but I found the music to be a bit ... manic. Difficult to have a pleasant shopping experience with Evanescence blaring in my ears even though I like the song.

  • I don't like the song and don't know what possessed me to put it on. I'm in the process of doing a new shop advert with a more appropriate song on. I originally had 'sirens of the sea' by Oceanlab but it got muted by the tools that be. I think I put Evanescence on in a rage.

  • @Adventurestud You are so right about the music. The song is good...but it's waaaaaaaay too overused.

  • I agree. When my preferred song was muted, I stuck Evanescence on and have regretted it ever since. The new shop advert is much better and when it starts picking up lots of views I will delete this one as its a bit rough.

  • at 0:35 what type of fish is that, my mother bought some and can't remember their names.

  • Dwarf gourami? The pictures go fast at that point.

  • Yes thanks alot

  • @pondguru it looks fake. it looks sorta like a person it gots pointed hand and feet has hair kinda and its smiling. wwwwiiieeed

  • This is an amazing store i wish i had better ones where i live having 70+ tanks individually filtered and a health guarantee on all fish blows my mind. Half the fish at my pet stores all have ick and the people that sell them arent very knowledgeable kinda sad to see. One question do you own this store?

  • Yes. Unfortunately, we are a distance from main population centres so don't get as much trade as stores near shopping centres etc. so our fish have to be good to keep people from the more convenient shops.

  • whats so sad about a fish store that needs this music? did it burn down?

  • It did have 'Sirens of the sea' by Oceanlab but it got muted by Youtube which sucks so I had to change it. I picked this as its a song most people know, even though I hate it myself. I'm going to do a new advert which doesn't suck - sorry man.

  • at 0.43 there was a parahna (or how ever u spell it) arent they illegal??

  • Piranha aren't illegal in the UK although plenty of fish should be. The amount of shops I go to that are full of 'tankbusters' fills me with sadness.

  • If I ever visit the UK, I'll have to drop by! Some of those fish I've never seen before!!!

  • It suprises me, but the choice of tropicals seems to be better in the UK than in the US. I can't work that one out....

  • I can't either. Though I know some species are illegal here, for whatever reason, and some I've seen available maybe once before and never again, some of those I can say I've never seen here and I don't know why.

  • One of those strange things............

  • You get extra points for using Evanescence. :D

  • They are OK, but I prefer Within Temptation. Unfortunately when I use their music it gets muted - Ggggrrrrrrr!

  • what was that free heater sign. Can I have one? Can you also cover the shipping fee. I live in Malaysia so about 100 pounds should cover it

  • They are probably made in the far east anyway. It would be quicker to go to the local factory and sift through the skip. Its getting colder here by the day so I'm kinda wishing I lived in Malaysia at the moment.

  • Nah one of the great thing about fishkeeinghere is that no heaters are required for tropical tanks and that since its not very popular, the prices are very cheap compared to those in other countries like yours for example (no offence) puntius dennisoni must cost sky high, but here they sell for RM12 at 4in which is very cheap for you guys

  • Within Temptation is a GREAT band! (Double-Extra Points)

  • What is the best selling tetra besides the neons and cardinals?

  • Probably rummynose or green neons.

  • What is your most expensive fish, aside form the discus, red line torpedos and galaxies?

  • We never get anything super-crazy but the most expensive at present is the electric blue jack dempsey at about £26 each for a 2" fish.

  • do people buy it then?

  • We just got them in last week and I think we've sold a couple. We really could do with keeping them until they grow a bit bigger and they will be worth twice as much and have much more 'wow' factor.

  • hey dude nice video and i saw that yellow pokadot pleco i looked every were for those lol are they hard to find?

  • It was a golden nugget. I think L81 or L177 - I can never remember all the 'L' numbers. They are getting more expensive and we get them in less regularly than we did. We have gone through a phase of getting rare dwarf cichlids in and unusual livebearers as that is what is in demand here at present. Oh, dwarf shrimps sell very well also. As all our tanks are individually filtered and well maintained we are one of the few places in the north east that can keep shrimps alive so do well with them.

  • thats sick dude sounds like you buisness does well my hafe to stop by for a look lol

  • The crazy thing is that we are nowhere near as busy as grotty disease factories that have been going for years. We've got the best range of tropicals and the cleanest tanks in the north east but since we don't have a long history, we don't have the user base of our competitors. Also we're not on any major road that would get alot of passing trade. That said, once we start mail order service for our fish, location of our shop will not be important, just choice/quality of species and good service.

  • that is crazy'0 either way your shop is like the heathest shop i ever seen like i always see either ick hole in the head or fin rot when i go in any shop but no yours

  • We get the odd tank with whitespot if we've done a big water change, but it's pretty rare and easily treated. As each tank is seperate and has its own net, diseases etc. tend not to spread. We get fish in from quality suppliers which also helps....

  • Wow your discus bred

  • We've never had them breed in the shop as when they are showing signs of pairing off, they sell.

  • I had to change the song - it is now Evanescence. Damn this copyright nonsense........

  • Ya lol, well nice vids btw.

  • Thanks, man

  • Its what makes the world go round.

  • love the song!

  • Its Oceanlab and it is called Sirens of the sea.

  • thanks :D

  • NO ITS NOT ITS Bring Me to life by Evascence

  • I had to change it as the previous song 'sirens of the sea' was muted. You're right. Now it is Evanescence

  • no not that one im talking about the one after the cardinal tetra with the really eye catching tail

  • Its a dennisoni barb. swimming from left to right.

  • awesome fish at 0:50 if only i knew what it was...if only...if only...*sigh*

  • If its the free swimming fella then its a Dennison's flying fox / Dennisoni barb. If its the lad on the rock, then it's a Hong Kong Plec.

  • Do you have any Peacock Eels or Spiny Eels in stock ( i live in Newcaslte and would buy one now if you have any) cheers

  • Sorry I didn't see your message until today. At present we do not have either of those. We have had peacock eels in previously though. Just checked availability list and they're not on. The eels available from supplier are yellow, tyre track and striped at £5.99 each and gold spot moray at £19.99.

  • great video do you own that shop and if you dont do you have any of your own fish?

  • Yes, I own Tyne Valley Aquatics. I don't actually keep tropical fish as my wife won't have a tank in the house. I went mad with ponds until I have a 30m x 26m spring fed pond in my garden and she is worried that the same thing will happen if I start with a small tank. I have no idea how many fish are in the pond as there is so much natural food in there and people keep bringing fish to me that have outgrown their tanks and ponds.

  • what fish is in 0:38 .thank you

  • Man, some of them went fast. If it was the single fish, it is a blue/butterfly ram and the shoal of fish eating the pellet are galaxy rasbora

  • Is there only one Gourami, or do you have a pair? Gourami prefer to live under a canopy of plant growth generally, of get among plants whenever they can use them for cover. You could try feeding live daphnia to encourage it to come out and hunt for food or it may just be a shy fish.

Fish are like people in that some are exhibitionists and always want to be seen, while others freak out and want to hide. If there are other, more active fish in the tank, it may be freaked by their activity.

  • my multi colured gourmi is hiding all the time. what should i do.
