The thing is, is that different people have different visions of how they see the story. Aslong as their director is fine with the way they have interpretated the script then everythings is as it should be.
Trust me, ive been in plays where people have taken whats meant to be a comedic play into something rather depressing and synical.
Oh! Lordie, she looks just as I imagined Helena to look! Her acting was a little rough around the edges but still very nicely done when looked at as an all-around preformance! Keep up the great work, girl!
She sounds to whiny. I would of like to of seen her more excited in the end. Its as if she doesn't know what she's talking about. Espically the ending.
She sounds like a whiny teenager. She needs to understand what she's saying. She just sounds angry the whole time. Helena is heartbroken.... not just angry.
I dont think she had any idea what see was saying? When she says 'It is a dear expence' she sould be thinking more not so rushed. Rushed and (as said before) Whiney perfomance.
@ChloeMairead it's not a matter of reading in an american accent. If you can't do a good british accent, don't even attempt it. It's a matter of reading the words correctly with that american accent. The accent doesn't matter. It's understanding what you are saying, bringing the emotion out correctly, and so on.
that's where she is lacking moreso. She sounds a little like a whiny spoiled teenager, not a spurned, desperate, passionate, heartsick lover. she needs to understand what she's saying.
I'm doing this for an audition on Thursday, but I've never heard of this play (well, I have, but you know) so can anyone tell me if Helena is supposed to be happy or upset or angry. It would help me a lot. Thanks in advance!
the end is played incorrectly. "herein mean i to enrich my pain, to have his sight thither and back again." means that she plans to mend her broken heart by winning demetrius back again. so it should end on a postive, hopeful note. too whiney in general.
I agree. Much too whiney. if I had played it like this, my director would have hit me, I guess ;-). But maybe she just had a bad moment and played the rest of the play beautyfully.

An excellent performance. She stands a tad stiffly, but it's very good. Thanks for posting.
