shred genre i do have time for say Dime, Friedman , Halen, i been exploring Vai too, i must admit, he has amazing feel too but, its just like wanking to me sometimes, i think iv'e learnt that the simple hook is key, i guess its from doing funk and hip hop, blues, reggae etc etc though i love old thrash metal.... any way thats my 50p's worth, just my humble opinion... thanks for posting btw :D cont...

i very much prefer soulful power, say B.B. King, Niel Young, Slash, Hendrix,... i like mistakes and expression but thats my point, Shawn Lane has incredible expressiveness too... almost a B.B. King touch, in slower moments while the rest of the time he sounds twice as fast as other shredders and twice as musical, though sorry, instrumental guitar tracks bore me... fantastic player though, in the
The beginning of this solo (without accompaniment) reminds me of the intro/theme to the show "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"...takes me back to my childhood.

I that is one of those things usually found to the left on the keyboard. You use it to alter the pitch of notes.
