Anybody know where i can get a new or used crankshaft for a Aircooled (1980-1982)cr80 engine? A rod kit would maby help too... :) Europe, USA , Asia...
i hav a 79 xr 80 even tho its a 4 stroke its got som power to it i tooped mine out at 40moh they fly hahah my dad is a pretty big guy and it boots him haha
there is no "power lever", it's just the torque curve of the engine, and it finally getting out of it's own way. basically, it's just the point of the engine running efficiently, and that's when the "powerband" kicks in. And yes, I'M a motorcycle mechanic that actually knows that there is no "power lever" :)
nah you started it before the vid and left it idle 4 about 5 mins and then started it thats why its smokey cos the power lever(power band) was not open so there was little oi then u opened it flat out and then there loads for a couple of seconds
@kensta2k9 also cause its a 2 stroke and takes less rotations, or strokes, to make a piston revolve. intake, compression, power, and exhaust are done in 2 engine strokes rather than 4 (hence the name 2 stroke).
The 80 model CR 80 had a pretty aweful powerband for a kid to try to ride. It was all top end with nothing in the middle or bottom. Very light switch also. They were terrible all around bikes because of that. The 81 and newer bikes had a better powerband.
its obviously not his bike fuckwit its a collectors item and he probably rides it like once every 6 months or something to keep it running he wouldnt take it to the track or nothing
Thanks for the comment, the bike was very fast, the suspension was a little weak back then and I was a bit too big for the bike as you can tell. I never raced it, just did a little trail riding. I used the video to sell the bike. I sold it for $450 a couple of weeks ago. Good luck on your project.
