I use SoundSpot dual piezo pickups, placed next to the main and sympathetic bridges on the Tabli. That then goes through a Fishman Preamp/EQ before going to the PA. The sound is fine for concerts with other loud instruments, but misses some of the finer nuances of the Sitar. For classical concerts I use one or two condenser mics.

Marvelous! I like your approach to sitar, and how you and the band work together.

Hey Josh, I guess that you use a montact mic? Is it a piezo? It doesn't have this typical piezo sound.
Thanks for this gr8 vid!

Hi Sitarrero
I use SoundSpot dual piezo pickups, placed next to the main and sympathetic bridges on the Tabli. That then goes through a Fishman Preamp/EQ before going to the PA. The sound is fine for concerts with other loud instruments, but misses some of the finer nuances of the Sitar. For classical concerts I use one or two condenser mics.
Hope this helps
Cheers
