  • I remember buying one when I went to China last summer. It was in this old-fashioned shopping strip in Fuzhou where this guy made them really fast and beautifully. I don't really like the candy's taste, however. I wish someone would experiment with the taste of it.

  • I want it

  • Trés bien!

  • That's awesome!

  • Absolutely amazing

  • It's too beautiful to eat.

  • Is this marble, or dry ice?

  • @armedbandit it is actually nothing more than a non stick surface. She is peeling it off with the tool, reheating and then drawing with it again allowing it to cool. when finished she carefully gets it off the platform using the tool.

  • In Singapore, during events like Chinese New Year, when i go to places like the Chinese Garden, they have these around but yes, the people who make them are from China.

  • could you add sugar to make the mixture sweeter

  • this brings back memories. I used to have those when i was in pre-school. Now I am done with college. The candy tastes nothing special, but the way the guy makes it is mesmerizing.

  • @tree7gate It is. I'm sad to see this disappearing. Something within me makes my heart extremely traditional. When I see an art like this going away, I have to post it and share. I'm sure somewhere I also have the dolls they make out of a playdoh like substance... I should find that and post it too.

  • Wow, amazing.. So, what type of candy is it ?

  • @plantiumme I think it's like a melted sugar or rock candy. It's not the sweetest but it's an experience.

  • @chanticlere It's malt candy. 麦芽糖. Not as nice as other candies but I think the traditional one is healthier. X3 Thanks for posting this. Brings back my childhood.

  • @plantiumme It's malt sugar.

  • i love candy

  • @tamifah1212 Glad you liked it. They don't do this too often now. It's an old art. Sad how some things get lost with the past. This was not my favorite candy I ever tasted but, I could watch them make this all day and be happy!

  • I could stand at a place like that for hours
