  • It's the same sound my mower makes if I try to start it with the Blades engaged.

I'm just saying cause sometimes it's something that simple people overlook

  • @MJCPeters thanks man i found the prob though starter was dead

  • @cameramonkey2 turned out the bottom of the starter was actually smashed in half but i did think it was the solenoid thanks for the comment though

  • you dont have enought juice goin to the starter try charging the baterie a little bit i had the same prob.

  • @landonswonke found the prob the bottom of the starter was actually busted replaced it and starter works but i got to get another gear lol thanks for commenting though more vids soon

  • sounds good:)

  • @tatorchip16 btw i subbed and added as friend nice Lt 2000

  • dont see a wire connected to the bottem of the starter (red cable or positive) idk if i just cant see it in the vid

  • @tatorchip16 lol its there but its hidden the prob was there's these magnets at the bottom of the starter that weren't making contact with the coil of wires to make the electrical connection to spin the starter well i fixed that starter DID work but the starter gear that spins the flywheel shattered in 2 so i fixed it but i have 2 get another gear lol really sucked btw thanks for the comments updates soon

  • @benrobinson72 hey no problem great feeling to get something working after all the effort put in can wait for the updates

  • @tatorchip16 hopefully sometime next week ill have the gear replaced and do a vid

  • Well i had the same problem. First thing to do to check the solenoid is what is referred to bridging the gap. I'll make a video of doing that for you if you need me too. If you are good a following direction do this. Take a screwdriver and on the solenoid is 2 bolts sticking out of it touch the screwdriver to both contacts if it starts cranking it needs a new solenoid.

  • @tatorchip16 Also try taking some jumper cables and connecting it directly to the battery. Take black and connect it to ground. Then take positive(red) and connect it to the starter. Be careful. As soon as you connect the positive to the starter it should start cranking. If not immediately remove. The cables will get hot after cranking for more than 20 sec. Take a vid if you can then i'll tell you what i can

  • @tatorchip16 got the starter to work but the gear that spins the flywheel snapped in 2

  • Respond to this video... solenoid was good the magnets in the starter went where they went lol

  • @benrobinson72 well i guess that i dont know what you are looking for. Best guess is if the starter is shot just get a new one(hack saw). The best way to check if the starter is shot is to use jumper cables. Tell me if this works. Connect to battery and then black to ground some where on the frame. And red or positive to the starter for a few sec. Immediately it should start spinning if not the starter is shot.

  • my solonoid wasn't mounted solid and it did that

  • @GopherDunes4x4 mines all mounted solid and everything's hooked up and solid battery's is fresh idk

  • sounds like that starter is bad also. the bolts on the solenoid should be tight. u can have someone hold a tester on the positive wire of the strter and ground the other to the motor while you turn the key to see if poer is going to the starter. you can also hook booster cables, red to the red wire and black on the motor to ground it and u will have direct power to the starter. this will tell u if the starter is still good or if it's a problem in the wiring

  • @donyboy73 when i took apart the starter on the bottom there where these magnet things inside with springs on them that came flyin out i put them back in but to hold them there i rapped the wires they were attached to around the casing that held them do they need to come out because i cant put the bottom piece on without them being held

  • @benrobinson72 u have to hold out the brushes so the armature, the copper end goes inside the brushes

  • @donyboy73 do they have to make contact with it because mine are still being held back

  • @donyboy73 crap how do i release them and get the cover on

  • @donyboy73 crap how do i release them and get the cover on

  • @donyboy73 crap how do i release them and get the cover on can u do a vid

  • @benrobinson72 got it but starter was crap need a new one or at least the top gear Assembly but i cant get the pin out that holds the gear on any ideas on how to do that starter would work great if i can replace that gear
