I wish people would stop complaining about Wii graphics, yeah, they're not the best, but are graphics EVERYTHING? Sure, they play a big role, but a fun game is a fun game, right? Nintendo hasn't always been the best at graphics, the NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii (which has virtually the same internals as Gamecube)... they've NEVER been top of the line. But they've always made good games, and the Wii seems to have a lot of crappy games but many good ones too.
@smashking41 Lol 5% better make that 50% better and go play it in 3d on Par with Xbox360/Ps3 so Wii needs alot of stepping up to do becasue 3ds is on Par with xbox360 and Ps3.
i do not have a problem with the wii's graphics .but a problem with the control's ..................fps on wii is 10 times harder than on xbox or ps3 . and i also think that for other types of games there really are not enough buttons.
Also i know Nintendo said no to GTA back when Gamecube was out, but i think that has changed now with the Wii having a few ROCKSTAR games and the GTA on Nintendo DS. Also No More Heroes kinda reminded me of GTA, a little....
I think Wii can do "serious games" well, i would love to see a game from Bioware on Wii, though it probably wont happen. Some more "serious games" include, Conduit 2, Monster Hunter Tri, and The Last Story. I bought Call of Duty: Black Ops on wii, over the pc version just because it seemed like i would have more fun, because of the control experience, also i enjoy gaming on a console over my pc.
I have all 3 systems but I had the wii 1st then the 360 and recently got ps3 and in terms of graphics wii doesn't come close to the hd consoles. I've played conduit metroid prime and I loved the games but the wii chipsets don't compare

"Moving on from a standard controller" isn't exactly a great reason for the Wii being better. I could say something like PC constantly updates graphics and sounds, Xbox has the most engaging multiplayer network, and PS3 has a bunch of successful exclusives...

I think gameplay is important, but I like nice looking games. Like those on Xbox 360 and PS3. If Nintendo makes a new console, it shouldn't have 360 or PS3 graphics, it should have the graphics of whatever Microsoft and Sony come up with, that they all of the console's have similar graphics instead of the Wii falling behind.

The wii has really nice graphics. We just don't know how far it can go. It's like the iPhone+iPod touch. You should see a demo of the Unreal Engine running on them. They look stunning.

What people STILL don't understand about the Wii is Nintendo isn't trying to be like 360 or PS3 at all. I still can't believe people are so uninformed about the whole thing. Nintendo HAD to change their game plan because no matter how powerful and expensive hardware they'd put in their machine,Nintendo would lose money. Nintendo went after their own place in the market and sold many consoles, Now that "other" companies sees there is a market for motion control. They copied nintendo again.
The game is horribly bland and short though. What HVS should have done was resort to a Dual-Layer DVD tech, This would have allowed the game to be longer and put more features in. You can't get make a game with mind blowing graphics and expect it to sell in that reason alone, You must put options to play with for gamers to be enticed to buy the title. Trust me on that.

@kjellis345 This may be true, but can it be said that this is a good move in the long run. Without a doubt the motion control and pointer are fun and innovative, but they lack the smooth, polished and comfortable functionality of the standard controller. As such, I don't see anything like the wiimote replacing the standard controller anytime soon.
@kjellis345 the nintendo 64 controller sucks. it wears out way to fast, ive had my ps1 dual shock controller for just as long and it still works just great. i can actually aim in a game and not have it swinging back and forth or look up and down likes its possessed.
@dudeclape101 wrong, its not nearly 2x as fast its actually only about 30% faster not 2x faster, also wii uses the same hardware gpu as the gamecube, just faster clock speeds and more memory. so technically the gamecube can produce any graphics that the wii can,and this is a fact from wiki tech specs of both systems. nintendo is pretty pitiful when it comes to making a gaming console. the reason being is the wii isnt made for hardcore gamers its made for kids or targeted at simple gamers
Nintendo really know what theyre doing. The top selling console ever, been in the buisness for 25 years, gameplay for the win, the 3ds is just around the corner, and they already have introduced that their next console will match the graphics of the xbox/ps3. in about 5-6 years, nintendo will rule again!

i really feel sorry for sony and microsoft. they can try to pwn nintendo as hardly as possible and they'll never succeed. why? cuz nintendo's got mario, zelda and metroid and every good gamer knows the quality of these titles... that's why graphics and so on dont really matter, it's all about the gameplay and in that issue nintendo always KICKED ASS, KICKS ASS and WILL fuckin KICK ASSSSSS!

The wii has really nice graphics. We just don't know how far it can go. It's like the iPhone+iPod touch. You should see a demo of the Unreal Engine running on them. They look stunning.

if you want the best graphics, BY PC. if you want the best controls, buy wii.
pc has mutch better controls than 360/ps3 to. byt 560/ps3 is good for multiplayer+online.
note that mutch of this is sceenes and you don´t need a hd5850 graphic card for that.

I am sure the next Wii system will have a better upgrade. However Nintendo always concentrates on fun. The wii IS capable of having good graphics but they wanted to concentrate on bringing gaming to EVERYONE this generation and they succeeded. Mom's,Dad's,Ex-gamers and Grandparents have enjoyed this little box. I'm 28 years old and I'm glad the wii was brought out because as a gamer I was getting bored of what was out there. Nintendo gave Us a fun,new way of enjoying games.Play what you like!

What people STILL don't understand about the Wii is Nintendo isn't trying to be like 360 or PS3 at all. I still can't believe people are so uninformed about the whole thing. Nintendo HAD to change their game plan because no matter how powerful and expensive hardware they'd put in their machine,Nintendo would lose money. Nintendo went after their own place in the market and sold many consoles, Now that "other" companies sees there is a market for motion control. They copied nintendo again.

The game is horribly bland and short though. What HVS should have done was resort to a Dual-Layer DVD tech, This would have allowed the game to be longer and put more features in. You can't get make a game with mind blowing graphics and expect it to sell in that reason alone, You must put options to play with for gamers to be enticed to buy the title. Trust me on that.

Without a doubt the motion control and pointer are fun and innovative, but they lack the smooth, polished and comfortable functionality of the standard controller. As such, I don't see anything like the wiimote replacing the standard controller anytime soon.

@dudeclape101 wrong, its not nearly 2x as fast its actually only about 30% faster not 2x faster, also wii uses the same hardware gpu as the gamecube, just faster clock speeds and more memory. so technically the gamecube can produce any graphics that the wii can,and this is a fact from wiki tech specs of both systems. nintendo is pretty pitiful when it comes to making a gaming console. the reason being is the wii isnt made for hardcore gamers its made for kids or targeted at simple gamers

The top selling console ever, been in the buisness for 25 years, gameplay for the win, the 3ds is just around the corner, and they already have introduced that their next console will match the graphics of the xbox/ps3. in about 5-6 years, nintendo will rule again!
