I have a cummins and I have a gas race car, u can't compare the two, diesel is made for torque and gas for HP. Apples to oranges. Saying no one use a gas engine in top fuel is like saying no one uses a gas engine in a semi. (P.s. they do have top fuel diesel dragster) .

Diesel trucks may be good for 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile and clear it's good for drag racing since it have alots of torque, but it'll get run down by civics on the race track or on the highway at night time ;-)

Only with chip you can make to 160hp and 370nm of torque. gasoline with equal torque? i bet its something with 4,5-6l engine

The 6.4 powerstrokes will wipe the floor with a number of cars out today with just a tune. Your just mad cuz theres more trucks that way twice as much as cars that wipe the floor with them.

@timtat16 Yes, the 6.0 got beat by a 6 banger weighing over 7k lbs. It has a smarty for tuning and judging by his mod list putting down around 1k tq. With small mods our trucks are in the 13's easy. Spend another 500-1k and you are in the 12's. Stock we are in the 17's. Try and get a 4 sec drop from another car for under 3k. Oh and also get mid 20's MPG. My 0-60 is in the low 5 sec range with exhaust and inake and tuner

@evoredline The tailgate improves aerodynamics. When your speed increases it forms a big air bubble in the bed of the truck which allows a smoother stream of air to flow over the truck. Without the tailgate there is no air pocket and the bed will create more drag.

@Ensilvanation Dude your an moron it doesnt take much to get a truck down into the 12s. I have a 6.0 F350 dually that runs 0-60 in 6 seconds and Ive only put about $1500 into it. Ive beat two GTO's a number of mustangs and even put a buddy of mine in my 2010 Camaro SS and beat him to 90. The 6.4 powerstrokes will wipe the floor with a number of cars out today with just a tune. Your just mad cuz theres more trucks that way twice as much as cars that wipe the floor with them.

I have an LS1 GTO with bolt-ons, and with a Full tank of 93 octane Im hitting 60 in 4.9 seconds, and thats with 275/40 bridgstones on the rear. Im putting about 363 rwhp, and about 385 trq. With me in the car it weighs about 3780, and thats with the trunk stripped and a lighter battery

For all i know the guy couldnt know how to drive. But what i will stand up for is Diesel trucks are no joke. And also given the right truck and the right mods you can spend a hell of alot less to make it faster than a car. So think trucks are shit all you want. I believe your given the right vehicle with the right mods period, and you can make it a hell of a lot faster, any car or any truck, but trucks take more work because they weigh too damn much. Throw an STS turbo in the GTO and no truck is touching it.

I'm a Cummins owner and I'm calling BS on running a 12.94 with a Smarty, intake, exhaust and FASS system. I can believe a 12.94 on a stock turbo, but not a stock 48RE. @timtat16 Yes, the 6.0 got beat by a 6 banger weighing over 7k lbs. It has a smarty for tuning and judging by his mod list putting down around 1k tq. With small mods our trucks are in the 13's easy. Spend another 500-1k and you are in the 12's. Stock we are in the 17's. Try and get a 4 sec drop from another car for under 3k. Oh and also get mid 20's MPG. My 0-60 is in the low 5 sec range with exhaust and inake and tuner

@JHungerford12 I think you are getting confused ... either way. myth busters did a whole thing on it and if you take it off (or down) it adds more drag. if you have a cargo net in the back that works best because some air flows through but creates enough pressure in the bed to still force most of the air off the top. Cargos ftw.

@evoredline The tailgate improves aerodynamics. When your speed increases it forms a big air bubble in the bed of the truck which allows a smoother stream of air to flow over the truck. Without the tailgate there is no air pocket and the bed will create more drag.
