Somewhat onesided as the down fast and slow met had signalling problems otherwise it would have been a close run thing with the A stock. I travelled on this line when T stock and the "buggies" as we used to call them were Kings of the MET!! from 1957 to 1971 so saw many changes. A stock acquitted itself well and attained speeds the old T stock could not.
Oh must not forget the F stock which actually once "wound up" would attain similar speeds to A stock!
Alas I am too young to have known the T or F stocks. (I know them from books and museums, but thats all)
T stock were slam door, and if I am correct built for the local service to Watford. I wonder how passengers felt about the seating reduction when the A stock replaced the T stock.
Alas, modern trains have tiny opening windows and filmimg through glass always suffers from reflections. (although might get better sound - less wind buffering).
The best underground stock was the 'D' of the district
