  • ...Quarantine 2.

But honestly dude, it must really suck you had to go through this, I'd DIE of boredom.

  • super man!

  • Thank you for your patience. Hope u enjoy your life after 8:30 PM ^^ This is a very "special" experience , haha

  • haha nightmare? try to enjoy your time dude, free staying in 3 stars hotel (isnt it) for 7 days, who doesnt want it? this is a rare opportunity for you or for all of us who want to stay in a hotel... you are so lucky, i tell you. lol

  • what u mean by lucky..they didn't hv to lock up people for seven days! result h1n1 can shows in 3 days but they quarantined people for 7 days! imagine some people who staying there for business or holiday and ended in metro park...so i dun think u can say this "opportunity" and 'luck'

  • chill the fuck out

  • It is better be safe than risky. Though unwilling, I would accept the arrangment and let time/ test to tell I am clean.

Thank you for sticking out all guests being quarantined and thank you all staff who have worked in the hotel/resorts to take care of the guests. Now that this episode is almost over, let's continue our guard and fight against this virus.

  • nice play to stay in. but not at this time :)

  • Being a Hongkonger, I am sorry for the people in quarantine. Since we have known little about the virus and the fear of commmunity outbreak, we have no choice but impose a quarantine on the hotel. It seems the HK government is so strict but I am sure no one what to see a large outbreak.

  • Stop labeling me as commie. Bitch.

    FYI,

this Metro Park Hotel is owned by the Commie.

  • HK have 7M people

and 3 M people have foreign passports.

What if this H1N1 spread and mutuated??

And what if these 3M people rushed out of Hong Kong to the World??????

    Think deeply.

  • I hate the CCP more than you.

Who would be responsible if H1N1 spread widely in Hong Kong???? Last time, just one person from Mainland, spread SARS to the World.

Containing disease is different from locking political dissent up.

  • u must gambateh !!!!!

continue survive at hong kong wanchai 7 days ...!!

  • what were u doing in hk anyway?

  • Lol, your videos have been mentioned in the newspaper in singapore and malaysia, hang in there

  • R E S D E P T

  • This quarenteen is unnecesary, OMS already raised to 5, inminent spread, HK is not listening.

The mortality levels are low, and those who died in Mexico did because the medical services are not good.

Such paranoic measures will lead to frictions wich Mexican and American goverments are reacting to. A plane was sent to pick up mistreated and discriminated citizens in China. Fligths have been cancelled, imports too (eating pork wont make you sick), and now injustified quarenteens. Whats next?

  • Thanks for butchering the word "quaratine".

  • HANG IN THERE!!!!!!!!!! we love you guys! =]

  • RESPECT!

  • Forgot to mention. Did they even bother to supply you guys with enough Alcohol or Beer to survive the 7 days of Hell in there? Might as well have a party while your there.

Im sure alcohol will help kill time. Sure does when theres not much to do. Also kills germs.

  • Not surprised how the HK govt has overreacted in this case. Its FLU...o no..its gonara kill everyone on Earth. The end is near. Imagine it was Ebola and you guys got stuck together in a hotel for 7 days.

I'll be happy to be quarantined in dubai's 6/7 star hotels LOL. Free of Charge of course.

  • i m from HK, I feel sorry for u mate,

believe me, our government will treat u real well once u get out! cheer

  • I feel bad for u guys.. i am for real..

but i also show respect for u guys..

  • only a few days left now

    thank you very much

we all feel proud of you

  • Thank you for your precious 7 days of your life, it means possibly preventing you from become an unintentional murderer by spreading a virus not yet fully known to the medical scientists, and also means saving your life too. Next virus pandemic may be far more deadly for the entire world; we are very lucky this time.

  • whats this? does it have anything to do with theswine flu? the mexican student stayed there before?

  • So far so good, there is nothing that violated the human right, right?

I think you should send this video the CNN and BBC so that they won't scare the world with mystery in this hotel.

  • สกม๊กจัง จัดห้องหน่อย

  • A few more days to go, hung on in there and keep us posted every day so we know you are doing ok.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!:( i can imagine but fight my friend I am also in Wanchai area...and lets know if u need something

  • by the way, try ordering Pizza Hut in HK bcoz it tastes better than the Pizza Hut in NY.

  • How's the food? more...thanks

  • I am a HKer living in NY. I deeply appreciate your effot to update your situation with us. With the experience of undergoing SARS and the current H1N1 pandemic in NY, I can say that the action by HK government is necessary. Again, thanks for you patience and cooperation. Keep updating!! 4 days to go!! You are the Man!

  • hi,man,just to say hi,haha...i'm super star jacky chan,you know?ar...daddada......welcome to Hong Kong,man~haha....

  • This virus is not like SARS, this one has 1% of death possibility if you don't get treatment for it. I don't know why you're keep trapped like that.

  • ANIMO¡¡¡¡¡¡.

  • FIGHTING!

  • Comment removed

  • i am sorry you feel that way. But their reaction although overactive may be understandable especially as they have experienced SARS just 8 short years ago. Imagine going through that all again its like rretraumatization. The persons involved that are infected are undergoing treatment as it is. But SERIOUSLY people getting paid on youtube... u gave me a good chuckle.

  • Sorry. Hope you are getting fine.

    Cheer UP !!

  • god bless you !

  • Hope this doesn't deter you from returning to visit again, and thankyou for your patients.

  • I hope u wont miss there when u leave,,

    =[ T^T

  • It must be boring to stay in a prison-like environment.

I believe most Hk people don't feel this is overacting after SARS in 2003.

But we really appreciate what all of you in the hotel are doing.

It's really something for HK people.

    Sorry and Thank you !

    Good luck to you all!

P.S. it seems a little dangerous to hang stuff on that cable thg?

  • hang in there leslie !

  • Haha. It's better to quarantine 300 people than the other 7 million people in Hong Kong. Don't complain too much now because next time you may really catch a deadly virus. Hope you have better luck next time.

  • we hong kong citizens really appreciate the guests at metro for doing this.

sure it will be all over pretty soon so hang it there!!!

    PS.

' i survived hong kong' t-shirts are available in TST and Ladies Market Mongkok

    get your

  • Hi Leslie, it must be very hard on you and the rest of the quarantined guests. But think of it as a humanitarian act. Remember it is only till Saturday, right?

So please be strong and continue to communicate with the outside world by blogging!

  • hi there, don't be upset. maybe the food is not in your taste and maybe no entertainment for you at all in the hotel. try go downstair to look for some helps. i called the hospital authority, and they said there is a list downstairs for different world famous fast food, this might help your homesick as well. i hope this information helps. on the other hand, as a citizen in hk, i apologize for any inconvenience caused to you guys. hong kong must be a healthy place. SARS 2003 was scary...

  • cheer up,no hard feeling!!!!!

hong kong experience hard time during sars period.we understand we cannot let the disease spead. We experience a whole building with people sick of sars.

we understand we have to control everythings at the most early stage.

i do feel sorry for all the people in the metro building.

    keep smiling,be happy.

  • I think it will be better with Free Porn LOL

  • Keep it up buddy!

A lot of people did not understand why Hong Kong government was over reacting for this issue. However, if you have ever experience HK SARS back in like 5-7 years ago, you will understand why!

  • H1N1!.....

  • HK Govt does all these for political reasons.

HK govt is very sensitive to any kind of societal problems since the fail administration of the Tsang government and the LegCo election last year. The number of participants in this year's July first rally is undoubtedly nerve-wracking for some top govt officials.

  • after what happened in 2004 with SARS, i believe this is a necessary action to prevent the swine flu from spreading further into the community.

  • Somehow, the disease was spread from Mexico and North America so China is more willing to open up.

But China is still sucks. They released info after Hong Kong had confirmed cases. I don't believe China don't have one H1N1 case.

And I kind of worry about the Tiananmen Massacre and July 1 st demonstration.

    Anyway, human lives first.

  • "Hong Kong goverment is overacting as a political meaning"

300 lives lost after SARS and survivors are still living with serious sequela. Uninfected people lived with constant fear during that period. Why do you people are that heartless??

  • Human always cannot learn lessons from history until they pay for what they think.

I agree what SAR government has done but I believe there are many space of improvement.

  • typo, H5N1.

  • Besides, what if H5N1 and H1N1 cross over and mutate?????

Just two days ago, a bird was found to have H1N1.

I feel sorry for the people who are being trapped in the hotel. But at the end, it's good for them, good for their friend, good for their own country too.

But I agree the government should provide better services for them.

  • Those who criticize Hong Kong government have no knowledge about the real situation of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is too overcrowded. No cities in the West is that populated.

China even let more people to flood Hong Kong after SARS.

  • And sorry to know your experience Lez, Hong Kong gov was just too worried. Things will be fine after a few days. Cheer up!

  • previous comment @he8765

  • I feel sorry about your experience. HK went through SARS and avian flu and given the uncertainty about the virulence of the virus that time that's the best thing the HK govt could have done.

cheer up and enjoy the harbour view from your room!

  • good luck, a few more days right?

  • As one of the high population density city.

I think it is necessary to isolate the hotel for stopping H1N1expand.

  • Sorry for your poor experience in HK!

    I am Hong Kong student.

    Take care for your health=]

    ...and welcome to Hong Kong

  • 香港政府做得好

  • Should I translate that for you? "Good job HK gov.". Yea that's our Hong Kong kids, thinking that if they speak something bad in Chinese no one will know that . Shame on you.

  • china and hong kong gov good job

  • It is understandable that you dislike Hong Kong government's counter-epidemic measures, but please allow me to add that she hasn't banned pork and has never intended to do so.

  • you'll never how dense the population is in HK, people are much easier to get affected than anywhere else in the world. The government is doing the safest thing to keep everyone safe, if the governemnt never did this and the flu spreads out, all you people will be blaming why no isolation or this kinda stuff is done. I think no one shud question the governemnt under this kind of situation.

  • Never question the government? Spoken like a communist... Or Singaporean.

And don't condescend. This isn't SARS and your emotional response about HK being crowded just supports the idea that HK doesn't know what it is doing. I have been to HK several times, and even if I share a bus with someone who has the flu, chances are that I won't be infected. Knowledge and personal responsibility go a long way.

  • Hardly, modern day communists are anarchists who OPPOSE all forms of government. In fact communists value individual rights over those of community. BTW Singapore is one of the most painfully capitalist Asian countries conceivable, just ask their elderly and foreign workers about their rights. Try a dictionary before throwing around words which seem to make your point.

  • Be patient ! We ( Hong Kong ) support you !

  • thats why it came to asia, due to lack of "overacting"

  • hang in there....take care!

  • Don't worry ! We ( Hong Kong ) stand by you !

  • Only 3 days left, take care.

  • sorry for your experience in Hong Kong

    it'll be fine soon

  • oh.. you are lucky enough :P

  • Sorry for your unpleasant experience in HK

Hope things get better in the next few days

    Take care for your health

  • Sorry for your poor experience in HK!

It's necessary measure to control spreading of Influenza A (H1N1). Since we hv very very bad experience in 2003 from SARS. Hope you can understand!

Sorry guy! Take Care!! Cheer up! =]

    Jack from HK

  • I know it is tough, please be patient and hang in there.

  • Comment removed

  • so poor, but plz keep patience.

    It'll be fine soon.

  • Why UK consulate abandoned you?

I saw news about other countries consulate sending materials to their citizens.

  • I think shanghai government should be put the blame on. Shanghai airport is the original souce destination next to Mexico. If shanghai do a good job on screening the possible mexician passengers on china oriental airline flight MU505 1/5 then you guys would not be quarantined for 7 days and Hongkong would not be high alert for 7 days. We are so sorry you guys suffer at Metro Partview hotel which operated by china travel service, which also operated the SARS hotel 'metroplitian hotel" in 2003

  • That Mexican passengers was reported not having fever when he arrive at he airport, so body temperature checks would not have worked.

  • Please report more. It's a one (1) week lockdown.

    SHADO CONTROL

  • Thanks for sharing... good to know I'm not the only one making contact with the outside world

  • Take care.

  • hey dude..

I'm so sorry for what you are suffering...but...things will get better soon! I'm sure our government will let you back home as fast as they could!

PLS hold on a while!!:-) We are all supporting you!

  • good luck mate!

  • sympathize your condition.

    Take care

    Here's to your health^^

    looking forward to yours message

  • Sorry for the poor feeling caused to you. our government is not the sympathetic. i can feel that the quarantine life is not enjoyable, especially being treated like this.

hope you forgive our government, and treat it as a special trip in your life. most importantly, hope you have a good healthy body!

  • yeah right, and guess what, the uk gov also quarantined hk-ers during sars period when little was known about the disease. i bet they just gave chips, chips and more chips to those who got quarantined back then, oh maybe they got given salt and vinegar

  • Can't speak for all Hongkongers, but I feel sorry for your unfortunate "hotel arrest". Hope the government can at least improve the food menu and provide laundry services in next few days. Actually they'd better review who should be quarantined, based on floors and when you guys checked in, but I think the government is a bit nervous this time because the SARS experience is too traumatic.

  • I think Mexico government need pay all the fees.

  • I beg you must be dead bored.

  • Nice segue, loser. Don't be mad at the government and society just because you're below the poverty line and are uneducated.

  • Poverty line? That's why I hate you stupid Christians!!

  • Oh,sorry, are you a professor or an expert? If not, don't call it "just a little flu".

  • Folks, next time when you book hotel in hongkong, dont book any hotels operated by "china travel service". 2003 they operated metropolitian hotel with deadly disease SARS, this time 'harbour seaview hotel" with H1N1. You think it is coincidence ? I really dont think so. Go try 'china travel service' group hotel next time or not? its your choice. 'To be or not to be' that is the question.

  • Comment removed

  • Or just avoid hotels in HK with the word "Metro" within their respective hotel names

  • well....sorry to hear you being quarantined in the hotel ..for 7 days...

I do understand why the Government did so on this hotel because Hong Kong is such a damn high population density place that virus could spread considerably fast...

However.. they should provide a god damn laundry service in-house.......

    and better food of course...

man, you guys are tourists... not prisoner :(

Why don't you guys go to the resort....at least you can enjoy to live in country side..:)

  • The HK government should contract some laundry service to do free laundries for you guys as well! And do that fast!

  • I feel sorry for you. Not because of the hotel - it's nice enough I think - but because of the fact that you have to be quarantined for 7 days. This is not justified. H1N1 is not SARS but just some over-hyped virus which practically is just as potent as any other flu virus flying around (IF treated early enough). While the HK govt's response is shift, it's clear that nobody else in the hotel has been infected and people should be freed on Mon/Tues (if no new cases arise)

  • nice hotel , thank you!

  • Comment removed

  • hey it seems you feel very bored!

lets play some flash game ... at least u will feel better than just sitting there and do nthg

  • Comment removed

  • The hotel is not bad , except no laundry service.

Eating 7-days of take away food is so sad.

  • Of course it's gonna be take away food, LOL. Do you think the hotel is in any condition to prepare food in? It's a quarantine area for God's sake. Even if you get food from Robuchon, by the time it gets to the hotel, it's still gonna be takeaway food. :)

  • HK takeaway food is good! I would eat HK takeaway food for 7 days straight anytime (in fact I almost do already)

  • Probably you should protest for some better food :)

p.s. Too many kids are messing around the commment box....Shame on you all

  • take care man~ and i got to say... i love the washing line~

  • Metropark, is that the hotel near Fenwicks with all the hookers?

  • Why the thumb down? It is, it's a block away from Agave and The Bridge. It's where everyone takes their hookers to for a shag, that's why you can get the rooms for half a day.

  • Good points. Thumbs-up!

  • Now you have 6 days left to get a date , don't waste it.

  • hold it it will soon be over!

  • Comment removed

  • I think you have every rights to ask the hk governeent to give you better foods. And ask them to buy you a lot of snacks too.

It seems you are being held for the sake of learning how the desease spread. Good luck!

  • Take care, luckily you've got your laptop with you.

  • Comment removed

  • take care, man. you 're not alone!

all of the hk peoples supporting u

    :)

  • Just stay there for 7 days and it helps the world. That's kind of great, right?

  • Did any brit ever did anything good to the world, EVER?

  • i know it seems troublesome and boring...

but health is the most important thing!

just a few days to make sure that your health is alright....please be patient!

maybe u can order food from McDonalds, KFC, Pizzahut...etc....just search for the phone number on the internet!

  • wellllll man

    juz look down

maybe you can found a stuff you can having fun in coming hundred hrs lol

  • hi Lezcarr

    u need a gal

    i know

    as a man

  • hey~Lezcarr~! I am so sorry to hear that u need to social distancing and stay in the room, I knew that sucks, but do hope u have a gd time after that~!

SERIOUSLY~! EVERYONE WHO'S SICK PLZ CONSULT A DOCTOR IN ANY HOSPITAL ASAP! DON'T SPREAD THE DISEASE EVERYWHERE JUST THAT U THINK U ARE NOT THAT SERIOUS AND NO ONE WILL GET AFFECTED~!THE PPL WHO ARE IN THE HOTEL! THEY ARE BEING AFFECTED FROM UR SELFISHNESS!

    BEST WISHES,

    C

  • dude hope you're fine in there. get those ppl to fetch u quality takeaway or something. there's some good brit food/ kebabs at the back of ur hotel, and a nice indian restaurant opposite to the front of ur hotel. so shouldn't be a big problem at all.

  • sound likes you well familiar with the area!

Hi Lezcar, could you shot some picture outside the hotel, is there heavy force surrounding the premises !

  • hello, there is a thread just opened at the forum hkgolden(one of the most famous forum in HK) talking about your case. If you can read Chinese, go there and have a look.

We are discussing that whether lunch boxes are delicious; most of us don't think so.

Could you pls keep update the status?

We will come here often and support you.

  • must be bored as hell

  • you are really poor guy

  • lots of support from an ordinary hongkong citizen! take care!

  • Sorry for the inconvenience that HK government have made

take care and god bless you!!!=)

  • inconvenience? More like prompt, necessary safety precautions, idiot.

  • stop calling people names you JERK; it's like a good brain being stuck on an emotionally dumb "idiot" "shmuck" body; you 'sound' like you have a good brain but you speech with gutter mud mouth you pea head.

  • Go cry me a river, bitch.

  • And yes..

Give ideas on what you need here, the mass-media will pressure the gov't to do something, hopefully.

  • As you know HK government must quarantine all possible passengers who might carry the H1N1 disease virus before it spread away like in 2003 the mainland chinese spreaded out the SARS throughout the world. I understand that your present situation are a bit odd but we have no other choice. If we dont stop this, the H1N1 would kill thousand of lifes like SARS in 2003. I hope you would take your time watching the Hongkong TV channels and get to know Hongkong and news going on about H1N1,THANKS

  • Do u think it is a must for a normal guy to be quarantined for 7 days? Even we had SARS before, it do not mean we need to isolate others again!! Especially, they are all healthy people.

What do u feel if u are quarantined for 7 days?

  • That shows your ignorance. Have you ever heard of such thing as an incubation period? It takes around three days for anyone infected with the swine flu to show any physical symptoms. It's only been less than two. So don't be such an uneducated shmuck.

  • The incubation period might be even longer, with most cases in the US ranging from 2 to 7 days according to most reports, so the Chinese government had made the right call.

Oh, just found out the head of the WHO is from Hong Kong as well, so she must know her stuff.

  • go away

  • yes, we all (Hong Kong people) supporting you! take care guy!

  • Dear British friend, I regret that you have such a situation being quarantined at the hotel room. I guess u understand that as we face the terrible disease H1N1 from Shanghai flight MU505. Our government have no other choice but quarantine all possible disease souce of H1N1. As we face SARS in 2003, it not only killed our economy, 300 lifes and also hurt the reputation of HK. I guess you should blame Shanghai govt, which they should have put appropiate action in stopping the flight to HK.

  • good job

  • Hope your ordeal will be over soon. The Hong Kong Government always do stupid thing, because it is run by a punch of morons.

  • I think you can request a transfer (request a transfer. Pfff, now it really sounds like you're serving time) over to the Lady MacLehose Holiday Village, I think the conditions are way better over there.

  • support you

  • Will you becomes a zombie?

Quarantine is really a good film :P

btw, I must thanks you for understanding the quarantine is a must-do procedure in order to control the spread of virus.

  • all of hk people are concerning you guys there .

    Wish you everythings alright !

    All the best!!
